The Billionaire Who Stole My Heart

Chapter 940

Chapter 940
In the vast expanse of the office, an imposing aura seemed to loom in the air.
Manuel had seen his fair share of high-stakes situations, but standing before Yuri, he felt utterly overpowered.
“Mr. Lynette,” Manuel began, his voice carrying a hint of reluctance, “I know Brittany is your daughter, and it pains me to say this,
but you’ve been deceived.”
Grinding his teeth in frustration, Manuel thought of Isaac’s betrayal. If he was going down, he wouldn’t go alone.
Yuri’s gaze narrowed. “Speak.”
With a flair for the dramatic, Manuel recounted the past few years, laying it on thick. He highlighted how Isaac had concealed his
true identity from Brittany and even indirectly caused her to fall overboard during that fateful yacht party.
Yuri hadn’t delved much into Brittany’s past. For one, he had already confirmed her lineage, and digging into her history would
only sow seeds of resentment between them. Secondly, rather than cold, hard facts, he preferred to hear about her life straight
from her, as if each shared story could somehow bridge the thirty-year gap between them.
As Manuel watched Yuri’s expression deepen, he couldn’t help but feel a surge of triumphant satisfaction.
Little did he know, before he could finish, Yuri raised his hand.
“Escort this man out.”
Manuel froze, disbelief etched on his face. “Mr. Lynette, what do you mean?”
He had come here with good intentions. How could Yuri fail to see that?
Leaning back in his leather chair, Yuri’s eyes were cold as ice. “Manuel, I know what you’re up to. The Salter family plays
favorites, and I’m well aware. Given your current predicament and your relationship with Isaac, can guess where this is going.
With your nature, could you really stand by and watch him thrive?”
“Mr. Lynette, I swear I’m telling the truth,” Manuel pleaded, desperation creeping into his voice. “You can investigate all you want;
every word I’ve said is factual!”

“And what if it is true?” Yuri asked, his voice dripping with disdain. “If you’ve known all along that your son was mistreating my
daughter, why did you never intervene? Why come forward now? And considering how much you know..”
It was as if a light bulb went off in Yuri’s head, and he abruptly interrogated, “My daughter’s accident at sea-was that your
doing?”
Manuel felt as though he was being strangled, his lifeline seized. He shook his head vigorously. “Of course not. How could I
harm her?”
Brittany’s fall had been orchestrated by Leda, and he had been aware of it, even complicit.
Yuri signaled to his bodyguard to take Manuel away and keep a close watch.
Once Manuel was escorted out, Yuri scanned the room, then ordered his confidant to verify Manuel’s claims. The truth unfolded
just as described.
After reviewing all the information, Yuri, in a fit of rage, grabbed a glass and hurled it against the wall, shattering it. “Bring Isaac
to me immediately!”
His confidant sensed a chilling aura emanating from Yuri and mentally lit a candle for Isaac.
“Understood.”
Isaac, who had just finalized arrangements for an event and was swamped with work, rushed to the Lynette Conglomerate the
moment he heard Yuri wanted to see him.
As the door swung open, a fist came flying out of nowhere. A loud thud echoed as the confidant quickly shut the door, pretending
nothing had happened.
Isaac hit the ground hard, his head slamming against the door, leaving him dazed from the pain.
Yuri stood over him, commanding, “Get up!”
Isaac, having been sucker-punched out of the blue by his father-in-law, picked himself off the floor.
“Dad, what’s going on?”

“Don’t call me dad!” Yuri seethed, slamming the pile of evidence on Isaac’s face. “You’ve got some nerve, Isaac. Is this how you
treat my daughter?”
“Secret marriage, imprisonment, forcing her to endure a five-year separation from her child, the accident at sea...” Yuri was livid,
his voice trembling with rage. “What did my daughter ever do to deserve this from you?”
Isaac hadn’t anticipated that his secrets would come to light, but upon reflection, he knew that this day was inevitable.
