The Billionaire Who Stole My Heart novel (Brittany and Isaac)

Chapter 19

Timothy Dillion casually asked, "That girl, you dig her?"

William, who was drinking, suddenly choked, his handsome face mysteriously turning red.

His parents exchanged a look; it seemed like he was smitten.

"Well, if you're into her, why don't you go for it?"

William replied with a grin, "I'm going to wait a bit longer."

On one hand, Brittany had just gone through a breakup, and he didn't want to swoop in like a vulture. That would be irresponsible for both of them.

On the other hand, his job wasn't exactly solid yet, so he was worried about not being able to give Brittany a secure future. So he wanted to wait a bit longer.

Tracy Dillion felt a pang for her son, who was also curious about the girl, but William kept mum about it. They were left in the dark.

Brittany and Hannah left the hospital room, and just as they got to the parking lot, they bumped into Patrina and Finn.

Hannah cursed under her breath, "Just our luck!"

Were these two glued at the hip? They couldn't shake them off, no matter where they went!

Finn said with a poker face, "Brittany, you sure know how to play the game; even William is shielding you!"

He thought, This flirtatious woman! Not only did she seduce Wesley, but now she's also unclear with William-disgusting!

Brittany looked at Finn, her heart calm, then turned to Patrina and asked, "Where is my mom's stuff?"

"Tomorrow night, I'll personally deliver it to you."

Patrina originally planned to ruin Brittany tonight, but her plan was interrupted by William. Was she going to let it go just like that?

"I hope you'll keep your word."

Brittany got in the car, and Hannah drove off.

Finn looked extremely frustrated; he wrapped his arms around Patrina's waist and said, "Patty, you were right; Brittany is a mess; I'm not wasting my time on her!"

He didn't even dare think about how many men Brittany had flirted with during their four years together or how many times he had been cheated on!

Patrina comforted him gently, with a malicious glint in her eyes.

Back at the apartment, Brittany pushed open the door.

Isaac was standing at the kitchen doorway with a cup of coffee in his hand, saying, "You're back."

Brittany was tired. "Yeah, have you eaten yet?"

Isaac shook his head. "What about you?"

"I was thinking of ordering takeout tonight because I'm a bit worn out."

After all the commotion, Brittany felt so drained that even talking seemed like a chore.

Isaac looked at the blood on her clothes, his eyebrows slightly furrowed. "Why don't you take a shower first? You can eat when you're done."

Brittany thought he agreed to order takeout, so she went to her room to get her pajamas and then went into the bathroom.

After she came out, Isaac came out of the kitchen with two plates of pasta and said, "Dinner's ready."

Brittany was taken aback. "You cook?"

Isaac looked at her and thought, Was it a big deal that he can cook?

"When I was in school, I rented a place and had to cook for myself."

Brittany was both tired and hungry; she didn't bother being shy and quickly made her way to the dinner table.

His cooking was pretty good; the pasta was al dente, and the sauce was rich. She finished the pasta and the sauce together, wiping the corner of her mouth with satisfaction, saying, "Zakky, it's really good." A glint of gratification flashed in Isaac's eyes. "Thanks for the compliment."

He actually didn't cook very often; most of the time he had someone cook for him.

He could have ordered takeout tonight, but for some reason he decided to cook.

"What happened tonight?"

Brittany sighed. "I bumped into an old friend; we had an argument, and my friend got injured while trying to protect me."

Brittany didn't want to go into details. She and Isaac had a marriage of convenience; there was no need to tell him everything.

Isaac didn't push further; Nathan had already investigated her background.

At first, he suspected that Brittany knew about his identity and was intentionally getting close.

But after reviewing her basic information, he concluded that she probably didn't know about it, so the information was destroyed.

He knew nothing about her situation with Loraine.

"By the way, was there someone with you when you called me last night?"

Brittany recalled the familiar female voice and felt a bit uneasy, as if something was quietly unfolding.
