The Billionaire Who Stole My Heart (Brittany and Isaac)

Chapter 2

Brittany quickened her pace, grabbing Isaac before he could hop into the car, "You've got it all wrong, this isn't our ride!" Isaac's icy gaze fell onto her hand.

He had a thing about cleanliness, didn't like people touching him!

Nathan froze in place.

Why was Mr. Salter coming out of an alley with a woman?

Brittany pulled Isaac aside and whispered, "This ain't our car, ours is over there."

She gave the car a quick glance, a Rolls-Royce Phantom!

Her family was loaded, but not to the extent of buying her such a pricey vehicle!

Isaac's scrutinizing gaze fell on Brittany. Did she really not know his identity, or was she pretending not to know?

The Salter family had been all over the news recently, she really didn't recognize him?

Brittany turned to Nathan, "Sorry, sir, my husband had a drop too much. He's still not sober, so he got the wrong car." Nathan, who was observing this scene, was stunned.

What, husband?

Mr. Salter?!

Nathan gave Isaac a shaky glance, not daring to reveal his identity readily, "No problem."

What happened, did Mr. Salter get hitched overnight?

Brittany's car was parked on the other side of the alley, a BMW Mini that she bought with her own savings.

Isaac withdrew his gaze.

He signaled Nathan to leave with his eyes.

Since she was playing dumb about his real identity, he would play along.

Nathan caught the hint and quickly drove off!

Watching the car drive away, Brittany let out a sigh of relief, "That scared the life out of me! That car is expensive. If you'd gotten in, I couldn't afford the bill." This man had a good taste!

Isaac was speechless.

If he'd gotten in just now, he'd be nearly at the office by now.

He pulled his hand away, speaking in a cold and indifferent tone, "Take me to Grandeur Capital."

Since she chased his car away, she had to take responsibility and drive him there.

Brittany walked to her car, opened the door, and gestured for Isaac to get in, "Are you applying for a job at Grandeur Capital?"

The guy was unemployed and now heading to Grandeur Capital, so he must be job hunting.

Isaac got into the passenger seat, casting a disdainful glance at the various pink decorations in the car. This woman had such an unbearably tacky taste! Brittany started the car, casually asking, "What's your educational background?"

Grandeur Capital, being a top-tier company in the business world, even the receptionists were postgraduates from prestigious universities.

She thought Isaac must have a high educational background. He seemed refined, not like someone with a low level of education. "Bachelor's degree."

He had planned to study abroad for his master's after graduating, but for various reasons, he eventually gave up his studies.

Brittany secretly sighed, thinking that probably wouldn't work out.

But she couldn't crush Isaac's confidence, "I have friends at Grandeur Capital, need help?"

Her bestie Hannah Chester worked in HR at Grandeur Capital, so she might be able to help.

Isaac found her too noisy, rubbing his temples in annoyance, "Just focus on driving."

He regretted it.

If he had known last night, he would have controlled himself, then he wouldn't have to deal with such a chatterbox!

Seeing that he seemed to be angry, Brittany didn't dare to continue talking, and dropped him off at the building, "Give me your phone number."

The man gave her his number, without saying anything else.

Then he got out of the car.

Isaac went up to the 23rd floor to the CEO's office.

Nathan was already prepared, "Mr. Salter, the meeting is about to start."

"Look into Brittany."

Nathan was taken aback for a moment at the name Brittany, then immediately recalled the woman he had seen in the morning and understood, "Yes."

......

Brittany drove back to the Dustin family's mansion, feeling oppressed as if a boulder was pressing on her chest.

She was betrayed by her longtime boyfriend and her own father. Just thinking about it made her sick!

Years of companionship, all gone in an instant!

As soon as she stepped into the living room, Robert Dustin was waiting for her, "How dare you come back? Now come with me and marry that man!"

Brittany took out the marriage agreement, casually waving it in front of him, "Sorry, I'm already married."

Did her father want to sell her? In his dreams!

Robert was furious, and slapped her, "Brittany, have you gone mad!"

This wastrel, daring to get married on her own!

Brittany dodged Robert's slap, saying coldly, "I'm already married, don't even think about selling me now!"

Robert was so angry that his eyes rolled back.

Brittany's stepmother Gianna Terrill put her arm around his shoulder, continuously adding fuel to the fire, "Bri, marriage is such an important matter. How could you decide it all by yourself?" Brittany scoffed, "My mom's long dead, and so is my dad, as for getting married? As long as I agree, that's enough."

Robert roared, "Bitch! You ungrateful girl, I've wasted over twenty years raising you! Get out of this house, now!"

A curse!

Robert was both angry and resentful, she was married, no longer a virgin, what about the million-dollar wedding gift Johnny promised him? How was their family going to get through this crisis? Brittany didn't want to stay here even for a day, she directly went upstairs to pack her stuff, left with her suitcase.

Stepping out of the villa, Brittany realized she had acted impulsively!

The money her mother left her was still with Robert!

She was dirt poor now, with just a BMW left, she took out her phone, found Isaac's contact, and dialed it.

The call was answered after a few rings, then hung up.

Brittany was confused.

After several attempts, someone finally picked up on the other end, with a low and husky male voice, "Who's this?"

"Hey, it's Brittany, I..."

Before she could finish, the call was cut off and a "beep beep beep" sound was echoing.

Hung up on, again!

Isaac ended the call, tossed his cell aside, and carried on with his meeting.

When the meeting ended, it was already six in the afternoon.

Back in his office, Nathan handed him a stack of papers. "Mr. Salter, I've found out, Brittany is the heiress of the Dustin family. She grew up with Finn Boulton, the young master of the Boulton family. But apparently, they've just broken up." "Really?"

She just broke up, no wonder she was wasted last night!

"Ms. Dustin is downstairs, probably waiting for you."

Nathan cautiously said. He had noticed a scratch on Mr. Salter's neck during the morning meeting. Clearly, something happened last night!

Isaac didn't expect Brittany to be still around. After a moment of thought, he ordered, "Arrange a suite for me."

"What?"

Nathan didn't understand Mr. Salter's intention. Wasn't he adamant about staying in the old house?

"The simpler and plainer the better."

Brittany, being the privileged daughter of the Dustin family and Finn's ex-girlfriend, was likely to be well-prepared.

If Brittany thought of him as a poor guy, he would play along, to see what tricks she had up her sleeve.

Nathan was efficient. Within half an hour, he had chosen a two-bedroom apartment for him.

Isaac took the keys and went downstairs.

Brittany had left home with nowhere to go. All she had left was a car. At seven in the evening, she finally saw Isaac.

She opened the car door and stepped out.

"Mr. Salter, over here!"

Isaac walked over, his face indifferent. "What are you doing here?"

"Did you hang up because you were busy when I called you?"

Brittany didn't answer his question, but asked instead. She found it impolite. Even if he was busy, he could have said so, instead of hanging up without reason. Isaac remembered he had hung up on her, his expression unchanged. "Sorry, I was busy all day."

"No problem. I had a fight with my family and got kicked out. Can you keep me for a while?"

As long as he didn't hang up on purpose.

Seeing his hesitation, Brittany quickly added, "Don't worry, I can share the rent equally. We'll go Dutch on everything!"

She wouldn't take advantage, but she was really broke now.

Isaac paused for a moment, "Okay."

Brittany got into the car and asked, relieved, "Is it the same old house from this morning?"

"No, I rented a house."

He didn't want to bring Brittany back to the old house. The house was a family heritage, every piece of furniture was valuable and sentimental.

He gave her the address, and she started the car.

Half an hour later, looking at the neighborhood in front of her, Brittany's mouth fell open, she turned to Isaac, "Are you sure, this is the neighborhood you rented?"
