The Axelridge Series Book 4 Griff's Red Card

Chapter 33🔥🔥

(Chapter song ‘Don't Know Much' by Linda Ronstadt, Aaron Neville)

IVY

The last week was just what we needed to leave all the stuff behind us, if just for a short time.

Griffin and his family have been absolutely wonderful. I do feel at home here. If I even knew what that felt like to begin with. My grandmother never made me feel that way. She and Alistair took my home from me.

But that’s not what really scares me.

What scares me is the dumbest thing, but it sticks in my head.

Griffins red cards.

They said my father, grandfather and all the other men were weak men who were already corrupt with superficial mindsets. Their minds were easily swayed by looks.

I don’t want to believe that Griffin could be that shallow, but the fact that he red carded women for imperfections, even ones beyond their control, makes me nervous.

I’m terrified that what Alistair added to the ritual will effect Griffin and he’ll break our bond. I don’t know if I can risk my heart like that. I don’t know if I want to subject our child to the loneliness and pain that would eventually come from that. I don’t think I can protect a child on my own.

There’s so much to question. I know I should trust him, but the illusion must be strong to break a fated bond, right?

How can I be sure that Griffin won’t see me the way he did those other women when he was younger? How can I be sure he’s even telling the truth now? I’m not exactly high on the perfection scale.

I feel like Griffin will ask me to stand under the moon with him soon. The more I think on it, the more I’m apprehensive. Maybe I should just end the curse with me. Not continue my bloodline. Let it die the way they want.

I have to try and stop thinking about this. I don’t want to ruin the time we have here with my doubts. If Griffin does ask, I’m going to have to stall my answer until we get back home. I don’t want to have this conversation with him around his family.

“What ya thinking, lass?” He bumps my knee with his leg. He’s leaned back in the grass as we watch his teammates play a small soccer game.

I watch Mallory kick the ball around Avery and Jonson comes in from the right to steal it.

I smile in the sun and watch his family cheer from the sidelines.

“Nothing.” I glance at him. “Just sad this has to end tomorrow.”

“Aye, but duty calls. The city needs running and I need to meet with the builders to rebuild my stadium. But…” He sits up and puts his arms around me. “There will be so many more days like this. So many times with family of mine and our own.” He kisses my head.

I give him a small smile then pick at the grass.

“I want to show you something.” He holds out his hand to me.

“What?” I grin.

“Something I’ve been saving for last.” He leans to me and kisses my lips.

He lifts me to my feet and drapes an arm around my neck.

We walk past the game and into the dried grass field behind it. He leads me through the wheat colored, tall grasses and small bushes.

“Griff, what is it?” I giggle after the farm almost disappears behind us.

He pulls me to him and points past a small tree. “That.”

I look to where he’s pointing and a smile grows on my lips.

Tucked in the back of the field with the forest behind it, is a small pond. The sun shines across the wavy water and the lily pads are flowered and looking almost picturesque. On the left side of the pond is a small cabin with a fire pit and small dock. Tied to the dock is a two person row boat.

“Griff…”

“It’s a little boys retreat. Me dad used to bring me here for a little fishing and talking. Man to man kind of thing.” He smiles. “C'mon.”

He leads me through the grass to a path that leads to the lake. I follow him and I watch the dragonflies dance above the water.

He squats down to the fire pit and pokes through it to feel if it’s wet. Wiping his hands, he holds one out. “C'mere to me, love.”

I take it and he pulls me into his arms. His fingers thread into my hair. His lips glide with mine and I melt into his sensual kiss.

He breaks the kiss and pulls back just a bit. “I think we need some private time.” He whispers. I smile and nod.

He scoops me up, bridal style which makes me giggle on his lips.

The way he makes me feel really triggers so much guilt. How can I think this man would break his bond when he’s shown me the opposite? I mean, the way he touches me has so much love. How can I question it?

I just need time.

He carries me into the cabin and there’s two twin beds inside. It looks like a boys hangout for sure. There’s fishing equipment and books. Even a radio. There’s history on the walls like pictures of catches and hanging out by the fire. I want this so much.

He stands in the middle of the floor and I look into his eyes. “I love you. So much.”

He smiles. “I love you more.”

As he lowers me to a bed, he kisses me deep. He pulls off his jacket and breaks the kiss long enough to pull off his shirt.

He meets my lips. “My sweet Ivy. I want to show you how much I love you.”

The heat between our bodies was enough to push out the thoughts as my hands caress his strong back. He unbuttons my shirt and kisses down my neck. In the curve of my breasts, he kisses and licks as he pops the clasp of my bra. He slowly releases my breast from their cups and sucks on each nipple as he runs his hand down my stomach.

I thread my fingers into his curls and let out soft moans as I take in his electric touch. My core is already heating up and I feel his growing girth on my thigh.

He kisses his way back up to my lips and kisses me as he lifts me to a sit. He pulls my shirt and bra off then lowers me back down. He fists my hair as he presses his hardness to my core.

“I want inside you…” He mumbles on my lips.

“Griff…” I moan as he kisses down my neck.

He pulls off his shorts and boxers then slides my shorts off with my panties. His soft touch spreads my thighs and his hand find my pussy.

“So wet…” He purrs.

His fingers rub my slit as I arch and moan under him.

“Yes, Griff…” I grip his back as I raise my knees to his chest.

“Do you want me, love?” He dances his lips around mine.

“Yes.” I breathe.

He lines up and slowly shoves his girth into me as I gasp.

“God, you feel so good…” He kisses me as he slowly pulls out and pushes back in.

“Yes, Griff.” I pant as my nails dig into his back.

He speeds up and I feel the heat rise. “Yes…like that…Griff…”

“Yes, Ivy…” He rises up and thrusts a little harder. My legs widen and groans as he goes deeper.

His hand grabs my ass and lifts me to change the angle. His tongue dances with mine as I hold his shoulder and the back of his head. He cups my breast and kneads it as he strokes my pussy faster. I feel his dick get harder inside as he fills me.

The feel of his hands on my skin raises my heat more. Just his touch send tingles across my skin and the feel of his length thrusting harder is quickly building my climax.

“YESS! GRIFF!” My moans turn to small screams as he hits my pussy harder and deeper.

“Yes, love. Scream for me.” He growls as he speeds up.

He lifts my legs more and pushes to his hilt as he licks and nips my jawline and neck.

My climax builds as his hips rock and increases the heat between us.

“YESSS…GOD, YESSS!”

“YES, LOVE…COME WITH ME!” He growls loud as he lifts up and thrusts faster. His dick pounds my pussy and I feel my walls tighten around him. His dick swells and he grunts as he strokes to his own orgasm.

I hang onto his sides as he hits harder and harder.

“YESSSS!!!”

My climax crashes and he lets out a gritted growl as his muscles tighten and I feel his warm release inside.

He slams my lips and kisses me hard as he thrusts out the rest of his release. My heart races as my wetness coats him.

He lowers his body as the rock of his hips slows. His kiss becomes tender and my chest tightens.

I know I love him. I love him with all my heart. I just don’t know if it’s enough to risk the pain of a broken bond and devastation that would come with it.

I feel his love which makes these questions even harder to ask. I want to trust that he could beat Alistair’s magic, but the black he already carries seems unlikely he could if so many other men couldn’t.

He breaks the kiss and plays with my lips. His breathing is heavy as he smiles and kisses my nose. His dreamy eyes look into mine.

I feel it. Please don’t.

“I love you, Ivy. More than ya will ever know. I want to spend forever with ya. Please. Do me the most grand honor. Stand under the moon with me?” He whispers so sweetly and I take a breath in.

“I…I…” I take another deep breath.

“What? Ya can’t answer?” He studies my eyes.

“No, it’s not that…it’s just a very big question.” I respond.

“Aye. It is. I wouldn’t ask it of anyone.” He says.

“I know. I just…” I bite my top lip as I run my fingers down his neck. My eyes meet his. “I need time.”

“What’s wrong?” His brows stitch together and he looks at me with confusion.

“Nothing.” I smile. “It just came as a surprise. I just want to make sure I'm in the right frame of mind. Is that OK?”

“Sure.” His lip ticks up as he slides off.

“I'm not saying no, Griff. Just…I can’t answer right now. Don’t be mad.” I say as I turn to my side.

“It’s ok. I get it. Ya need yer head straight. That’s fair. We have a few months still. You'll answer when yer ready.” He runs his fingers through my hair and kisses me. “I still love ya with all my heart.”

“I love you, too.” I whisper.

I settle on his chest and listen to his heart beat as I let out a shaky breath.

I can’t do this.
