Chapter 136 – The Alphas’ Porn Star Mate
Mick POV
"She's safe. Lenny has her," I told my brother.
He grunted, still in a furious funk from whatever happened between them before the chills crept over me, nausea settling in my stomach telling me that we had intruders in the pack.
Being in the warrior center, I bolted for the border right away, Rome tearing through me the second we were outside. Estel even snapped into action to help. Her little red wolf was small but fast. She couldn't mind link any of us, so she had to fall back to follow as I gave commands to the others. I'm sure she would have been the first to the border if not for that.
It wasn't until I was almost to the border that my brother mind linked me that he couldn't find Chloe.
That's when the panic hit. I had to turn around, leaving Billy and Darren in charge. Dez was leaving the pack house when I got there, ordering warriors ready to help at the border to search for Chloe.
There was no scent of her anywhere. We tried to follow one, but all the trails were old lingering scents from before she went down to the basement. When Billy got to the border, she said there wasn't anyone there anymore, but there was a faint trail leading to the road, then it just vanished, like someone had gotten in a car and left. That's when Miles and I started to think she had been taken.
Fucking hell, I didn't think anyone could have outrun either one of us then. We were ready to follow that damned road to hell if we had to go get her back, but then Rome started to slow down, and Ivar too.
If Cortina hadn't reached out to them to ask what was wrong, there is no telling what we would have done. We wouldn't need a rescue mission for Boyd. I would have run straight to that old resort and killed every person there.
"Tell him to strap her to the fucking bed until we get back," Miles snarled.
"Really? You think that's wise?" She sounded pretty timid and meek when she finally dropped the link, and I could feel how much of a wreck she was emotionally. I know Miles could too.
"She could have been taken, Mick. I thought she was gone."
"But she wasn't. She was in the pack house the entire time."
"Then why couldn't we scent her?!"
That was the million dollar question. We're her mates. We should have been able to scent her easily, or instinctively just known where she was. She had blocked us and everyone else from finding her. We had searched all the fucking pack house. Where was she hiding? Why was she hiding from us?
I wanted to ask Miles, but that would have to wait. He looked ready to lose his shit, and we had something to take care of.
"Did you find anything else?" I asked Billy as we came to the place he said they found a trail.
"No, Alphas." Billy's wolf looked nervously at Ivar, who had a face matching Miles's mood. He looked ready to bite heads off if anyone made one wrong move. "The trail moved around our border for about half a mile, then several yards in. We followed it back to the highway and then it was just cut off. They obviously left in a car."
"Genius," Miles growled. "Real detective work."
"I thought so," Billy muttered, turning his snout to the ground. "Call me Sherlock."
That didn't help Miles's mood. "Go check the cameras!"
"Okay. Okay. I guess you didn't get any, you grump. Luna needs to put out or I'm going to have to buy you a damn sleeve."
One more snarl from Miles was all it took to have Billy sprinting off. Darren's giant bear huffed hot angry steam, then went to follow his mate. "He needs ass so he stops being one," Darren snapped at me.
"I don't think that's the problem." Not that I know what the problem could be, but I definitely felt Chloe and Miles going at it for quite some time today. I was envious. I haven't gotten her to myself for that long since the night I marked her.
Estel's little red wolf was teetering at the edge of the highway, sniffing at one particular spot on the road. Her wolf looked up, searching until she found us, and then she shifted back.
"Hey, you two. There's blood here."
"Blood?"
Rome approached the spot on the ground, and before he even stuck his nose in it, I felt that he recognized something in the scent.
"Do you know who it is?" I asked.
"It's two scents, and yes. I recognize them both."

Cameron POV
"You fucking moron!" I seethed, ready to slam my fist into Jackson's nose again. "How hard is it to sneak onto a pack undetected?" All he had to do was find out if Chloe was really there. That whore of a mate had me coming out to the damned backwoods to find her, and I couldn't even confirm that she was really there.
This has to be it. That man she was with in her last video is from this place. Lee was able to find documents from his porn star gigs from years ago, leading us right here, to a fucking werewolf pack in the middle of nowhere with tighter security than Satan's asshole. She's here. I'm sure of it.
"I'm sorry, Alpha." Jackson held a towel to his nose, trying to catch all the blood. It was starting to let up, but it was definitely broken. It made a damned mess all over the front of my shirt when I hit him. "I was trying to mind link you, but it wasn't working again."
His expression was wary, as was our driver's. I was losing everything. I thought I already had, but then I started to lose my abilities as a werewolf too. Not just my wolf, but my ability to mind link was gone. I could still give commands, and still had the rage of a monster that would break free when someone crossed me. That was the only thing keeping everyone in line right now. Without the beast rearing inside of me and my title, I would have already been reduced to nothing.
I can see it in their eyes. My own Beta and Gamma are beginning to resent me.
"I had my blocks up," I lied through clenched teeth, daring him to challenge me.
"I see," he murmured. He grabbed his nose with both hands, then growled as he snapped it back in place. The blood trickled a little more, then stopped completely as his wolf healed him completely now that his nose was set. Jackson's eyes glanced at my clenched fists, still torn from hitting him. They were scarred and bruised from past punches too. It was obvious that I wasn't healing.
"You know what I was trying to mind link you? What I saw that had me so freaked out that I ran?"
I raised an eyebrow at Jackson's question, trying to hold back the creeping beast inside of me getting annoyed with his failure and excuses.
He gulped nervously, but continued anyway. "I thought I saw Rome, Alpha. I could have sworn I saw your wolf."
