The Alpha King’s Virgin by Charmeleon (Raine & Amari)

The Alpha King’s Virgin by Charmeleon Chapter 95

Chapter 95

AMARIS

There she was, my beautiful mate, standing with that sorcerer. It took all of my restraint not to pull her out of his reach. He held his hands possessively on her shoulders. I wanted to rip those hands from his body. How dare he touch what was

mine!

“Your daughter?” I looked at Raine for conformation and saw the awful truth in her eyes. She was the daughter of the High Magus. But she was still my mate and had my unborn pup in her womb. I didn’t give a fuck whose daughter she was.

“Well, she is coming home with me where she belongs. Let her come with me freely or face the consequences.” My wolves were ready and waiting for my command to attack. Even if he was a powerful mage, he was not immortal.

“You’re in no position to make any demands, Amaris. Raine is not going anywhere with you. She belongs here with her own kind. Tell him Raine.” He gave her a gentle push forward.

“Her own kind? She is part werewolf. So, what exactly is her kind? I am her mate, and you cannot keep her from me.” I haven’t gone through all this for nothing, changed the laws for us to be together. Started a war for her, spilled blood. For her, for us.

“Amaris, I…” I could see she was struggling with her words. Did she want to stay with him? No, I would never allow that.

Anger coursed through my veins at the thought of how much I had sacrificed for her. Did it not mean anything to her? Why did she not run into my arms?

“Raine, come with me now!” I held out my hand to her. Rage anxiously paced my mind.

“Something’s not right. Mate doesn’t want to talk to me.‘ he sounded deeply woed.

She shook her head. “I’m sorry, Amaris, I have no choice. I, Queen Raine Black, reject you…”

“No!” The room shook in response to the power and intensity of my voice. “Why?” Reject me? Raine would never reject me. This was the Magus’s doing! He was obviously forcing her.

“Raine, no. Don’t do this. I will never accept it.”

At my back, I heard the hurried footsteps of the witches coming to their Magus‘ aid. I was on the verge of launching an attack when the Magus sent out a ball of energy that hit me square in the chest. I staggered back from the impact. With a sudden jolt, a chair slid towards me, the back of my knees hitting the seat and causing me to sit down heavily.

“Silence!” His words were like swords cutting into my ears. I found I couldn’t speak, Rage screamed at the forefront of my mind to break free of this spell I was under. Kill the Magus, take Raine and run, as was my plan from the start. But I could

not move a muscle.

“There. That is better.” Quindin Thale stepped towards me. “Now that we have your full attention.” He clicked his fingers at Raine, and she walked like a wound–up doll in my direction.

I could only stare into her eyes that looked like wounds, wanting to plead with her not to complete those words, but no sound left my lips.

“Do it!” Quindin snarled at her.

That look in her eyes… What hold did he have over her that forced her into this? I have never in my existence felt so helpless. It didn’t sit well with me.

“Amarin, please accept my rejection. You deserve someone better” She held her hands over her belly, her gaze averted. “This baby. It’s not yours, it’s Athian’s,”

Liesl Liesl Nothing would make me belleve it.

“And your answer?” Quindin snapped his fingers, and I felt whatever hold he had on my tongue loosened.

“Never! I will never accept it!” Rage shone through my eyes, my canines elongated, and fur sprouted over my skin. My control was slipping, but I was glued to the damn chair.

“Quindin, pleasel I told you he would never allow me to reject him. Let him go. Please, I beg you.” Raine put herself between the Magus and me.

He pushed her out of the way to yank my head back by my hair. “You know the conditions. He has to accept,” he said, glaring at her.

“You heard her, Amaris Black! The child doesn’t belong to you. Accept her rejection and you will live.” The threat was apparent in the way his yellow eyes darkened as he tried to intimidate me.

“You don’t scare me, sorcerer. I will rip your heart from your chest. I snarled back at him.

Raine kneeled beside me, her hands on my knees. “Amaris, listen to me. You must leave me here. Go back to your kingdom.”

“Not without you, I’m not.”

“Don’t you understand? He will never let you take me. Think about your kingdom. Sorin is going to take over with the help of the Dragon shifters. You must go back if you care anything at all about your subjects.”

“Is the baby truly Athan’s?” The pain in my chest intensified at the thought of it. But my wolf refused to believe it.

She wouldn’t even look at me, but only nodded. “We don’t belong together, Amarls. I can’t be your queen. Please accept it

and

go home.”

“Her hands still clung to my knees, unwilling to let go. Something in the way her mouth quivered made me believe that her heart wasn’t in this. She loved me. I knew that in my soul.

I had to do what she asked of me, even if it killed me inside. There had to be another way to get her away from Quindin, and I wouldn’t rest until I found it.

“I accept your rejection, Raine.” As soon as I uttered those words, I expected my heart to shatter, but nothing happened. That puzzled me. I frowned at her, but her eyes warned me not to say anything.

Quindin released my head and stepped away from me. “Now that settles that. You may take your little army and leave. I will keep my word and not hunt you down. But you have until sunrise to leave my lands. Or I will send my pets after you.

The spell he cast broke, and power returned to my limbs. I stood from the chair with one last look at Raine before I turned to go. The witches made way for me to pass, Joyce leading the way out. Rage cursed me out for not acting forcefully. I tuned him out or tried to. He couldn’t possibly hate me more than I hate myself, Giving up was not in my blood. But to win a war, one sometimes had to retreat in order to regroup. This was far from over.
