The Alpha King’s Virgin by Charmeleon Chapter 94

Chapter 94

The sunlight was fading fast on I allently watched the wolves throw themselves against the invisible barrier. Amaris‘ black wolf was at the forefront, charging relentlessly. They tried to break through with brute force, and it was failing dismally.

“Idiots!” I heard Joyce scoff. “They’ll never break through the barrier.”

“Unless I let them In.” Quindin chuckled. With a wave of his hand, he removed the barrier, and the wolves rushed in. “Let them think they’ve succeeded.”

“Look, Magus, They’re up to something,” Joyce said.

I pulled the curtain aalde a bit more, craning my neck to have a better view. The wolves kept advancing. There were hundreds of them, with Amarls in the lead. I couldn’t take my eyes off him, his proud, black wolf, so magnificent. He lifted his head to stare at the fortress, and it felt like he was looking right at me. I couldn’t spook to him through the mind link. Quindin’s magic blocked all telepathic communication.

I waited until they fixed their attention on the wolves before slipping away from my hiding place, tiptoeing on my bare feet

But just as I had my escape in sight, Quindin, without turning around, said, “I wondered when you would come out behind that curtain. Did you think I wouldn’t notice?”

Joyce seemed taken aback to see me, “How did you…?”

Quindin waved her

er question away with a hand gesture. “No matter. Come join us.” He held out his hand. “Stand here so you can see clearly how I am about to destroy your king and his ridiculous army.”

“Just let me leave. Amaris will never give up.” I tried reasoning with him. “Please, just let me speak to him. Get him to stop this.Amaris was no match for Quindin’s magic, and he wouldn’t give up or die trying, I couldn’t let that happen.

“Really? Are you fighting his battles for him now?” Quindin scoffed, “He’s too much of an Alpha to let you do that, Raine.”

“No, but this is madness.”

He grabbed my arm and pulled me next to him. “Watch what happens next. This is one of my best traps.”

I watched as the earth liquefied beneath the wolves, sucking at their legs. Amaris jumped away just in time. He tried to free the others that were caught in the magical sucking mud.

I wasn’t above pleading if that was what it took. “Can’t we reach some understanding?” It was a chaotic scene, with the wolves drowning in the mud and Amaris and the elves working aimlessly to save them, making the situation unbearable to watch. “Just let me talk to him.”

“On one condition. You must reject him.” Quindin’s face remained impassive as he spoke. “That is my ultimate condition. You will remain with me until this child is born.”

“I can’t do that! I cannot reject my soulmate. You can’t expect that of me.” That would surely kill him, if not both of us. “He would never accept it.”

Quindin shrugged and stretched his glowing hands towards the scene. “Then you’ll have to stay and watch him die.”

I screamed as balls of fire rained down from the darkening skies at the wolves and elves. They ran for cover, but some of

them weren’t so fortunate and burst into flames. I fell to my knees, crying

“Please, I’ll do what you say. Just don’t kill them.” I felt responsible for the carnage, If only I had not gone with Joanna, none of this would have happened. But it was too late for regrets.

‘Don’t do it! You can’t reject our mate. How can you trust this monster?‘ Tasha howled in my head. I didn’t bother to reply. I’d do whatever it took.

Quindin patted my bowed head. “Good, girl.”

‘Bite him! Tasha roared out her displeasure. I wanted to, ached to rip out his throat, but I knew what he was capable of.

Quindin stopped the rain of fire, and the mud disappeared as if it had never happened.

Joyce turned to the Magus. “Surely you’re not letting him in, Magus?”

I lifted my tear–stained face to look at Quindin. I have to do it personally. Face him. You could let me go out.”

He burst out into a harsh laugh. “Let you go out there? What kind of fool do you take me for?”

Of course, I didn’t expect him to fall for that, but it was worth a try.

I watched as Amaris stepped forward in his now naked human form, signaling that he wanted to talk. “Quindin Thalel You have something that belongs to me.” His deep voice boomed over the field, sending shivers down my spine. I never realized how much I’ve missed hearing that voice that turned my insides to mush until now.

Quindin sent the witches to bring Amaris into the fortress. The rest of Amaris‘ army had to remain outside, guarded by Quindin’s griffins, half–eagle, half–lionlike creatures.

His familiar masculine scent reached me before he came up the stairs and my heart filled with a deep longing for him. It has been too long since I’ve been in his arms.

“Raine, you can’t do this. It will crush him. Tasha whined pitifully.

What other choice do I have, Tasha? Quindin will kill him.” Simultaneously, I was terrified that Quindin would go back on his

word.

Quindin’s taloned grip on my shoulder tightened painfully. “If you don’t follow through with what we’ve,agreed upon,” he threatened, “he will pay the ultimate price. I will let you watch while my pets devour him.”

“I gave you my word. As long as you keep yours.” I choked the words out.

“And little girl, you’d better make it believable. Convince him to accept your rejection.” His cold amber eyes glittered

menacingly.

When he stepped through the archway, a black cloak covering his magnificent body, the rush of emotion as I looked at his handsome face was almost too much to bear, a blissful, painful feeling. Our eyes met, and I wanted to rush into his arms were it not for Quindin’s vice–like grip on my shoulders.

Amaris‘ eyes glowed red when he saw Quindin touching me. “Take your hands off her, Magus!” His Alpha aura washed over us. Joyce was the only one affected by it. She dropped on her knees.
