The Alpha King’s Virgin by Charmeleon (Raine & Amari)

The Alpha King’s Virgin by Charmeleon Chapter 110

Chapter 110

AMARIS

Ultimately, my sense of duty to my pack overpowered my desire to stay by Raine’s side. At least, she wasn’t alone, and the might of her power astounded me. Ross and I charged downstairs, swords. drawn. Rage howled furiously in my mind to let him out, hungry for blood, for revenge.

Patience. His time would come. For now, the dragons would taste the bite of my sword. I needed this. When I finally faced my brother, then and only then would I let Rage out.

The heavy oak doors burst open, and a horde of dragon shifters invaded my castle. But Ross and I were ready for them. I greeted them with a malicious grin and my steel blade glinting with a promise.

What I envied most about these haughty creatures was their ability to transform fully clothed, dressed in their scaly armor. Vain to the bone, the lot of them. But even that wouldn’t save them from the wrath of an enraged wolf.

“Where is your Lord?” I snarled, decapitating the nearest one. “Why send boys to do a man’s task?”

Hisses and roars answered me as they came at us, their sulfurous scent cloying into my nostrils.

“Stinking Hzards…” I won’t let them get close enough to poison me again.

Ross threw himself into the fray, like the demon warrior wolf he was. We made a formidable team, he and I. Scimitars crashed against our broadswords, the sound of steel against steel ringing in our ears. Twisting my body in a dance–like movement, I disarmed my opponents, leaving them vulnerable as their weapons clattered away across the floor.

I pierced the heart of a charging dragon soldier. The blade sliced right through to his spine. It kicked him off the hilt with a roar in time to block the attack from behind. Ross swung his broadsword to slice two of the attackers in half. Their blood slicked the marble floor of the hallway.

“Enough of this!” I threw a body through the double doors to clear the exit.

We slashed and sliced our path open across the stone steps. Outside, I let out an earth–shattering roar to let my pack know their king was there, fighting with them. The air became alive with answering howls and snarls as my warriors attacked their enemy with renewed fervor.

My queen and her coven fought valiantly. I looked up at the ramparts to witness them blast the dragons out of the darkening sky,

Ross met my gaze and grinned back. “She’s something else.”

My chest swelled with pride at his admiration of my mate. “That she is.”

I had to check on her before I threw myself into the battle. Now I was ready to face the Dragon Lord and my brother.

Chapter 110

Pendragon must have sent his entire army this time. They kept on coming and we kept on killing them. Although we suffered many losses. Was this his strategy? To let us fight to the point of exhaustion and then arrive to deal the final blow?

The sound of a dragon’s roar shook the castle as it smashed through the north wing, leaving. destruction and chaos in its wake. The debris of the century–old stone building hurtled towards us. I dove for cover over the scorched earth, barely missed being crushed.

‘Raine!‘ I yelled over the link.

‘We’re fine!‘ came the reply.

Thank the Goddess! The rampart still stood.

The dragon shook its monstrous head. Billows of smoke exuded from its flaring nostrils, and the earth shook underneath its weight. He opened his maw to reveal rows upon rows of razor–sharp teeth. A black forked tongue flickered over those deadly fangs.

I saw my reflection mirrored in its emerald eyes as it turned his head to stare at me. A tall figure alighted from the beast.

Lord Greyson and the warrior wolves rushed to my defense. “Protect the king!” They formed a protective barrier between me and the dragon and his Lord.

Behind me, I heard the dragon shifters cheering. Their Lord had finally arrived. But where was my brother?

Clutching my sword, I stepped forward. I was ready for this. Ready to fight to the death for my kingdom, for my mate and for my pup.

“Lord Greyson, step back.” I commanded him.

“Sire?” That was not what he expected and went against all his instincts and his sense of duty. But I was the king, and he had to obey.

“Do it!” I snapped.

Reluctantly, they did as I demanded, shuffling away to form a greater circle. I saw the exhaustion on their faces and knew I had to put an end to this.

The dragon remained seated like an overgrown watchdog at the side of its master, watching the crowd with interest.

“I see you have made a miraculous recovery, Werewolf King.” Fintan Pendragon looked down his elegant nose at me. He was tall. Much taller than his brother and more muscular.

“Sorry to disappoint.” I smirked at him. “Where is my brother?”

Chapter 110

It is me who you should concern yourself with, Amaris, We are more of a match, wouldn’t you agree?”

“Typical of Sorin, hiding behind another’s skirts.” I sneered at him.

My remark elicited a humorless chuckle from the man. “Yes, I agree. He is rather spineless. But it serves our purpose.”

I understood what he wanted. He was only using Sorin to gain control over my kingdom.

“Are you here to talk? Let’s get this over with, Lizard.” I saw his eyes glint yellow at the insult and gripped my sword tighter. ‘Ross, get to Raine. Our eyes met briefly before Ross nodded and ran towards the castle.

With a fluid motion, Pendragon drew his double–edged sword from its sheath at his back and held it in front of him. His lips drew away from his teeth in an ominous leer. “What are you waiting for? An invitation?”

I’ve spent hours, years, training with Lord Greyson in combat using every available weapon. The sword was still my favorite. I swung my sword and brought it in a downward sweep to meet his steel headlong. We were up close and personal. I felt the strength in his block.

Our eyes locked. There was no sign of fear in his golden eyes. With a grunt, he shoved me away. Our blades sang at the contact. He attacked with purpose, forcing me back over the rubble–strewn

terrain.

The onlookers stayed clear of our path.

‘Stay away from his claws. Rage had to remind me.

I blocked a powerful thrust to my abdomen, deflecting the blow with my sword. He left his face unprotected. A hard lefthanded punch to his face made him stagger back.

He hissed in pain. Blood and snot streamed down. I grinned at him. Messed his pretty face up. But he recovered quickly.

With a roar, he launched himself at me; the blade coming down towards my neck. I had angered. the dragon. I jumped out of the way. The blade whistled past my ear just as I brought my sword up to slice across his torso, drawing blood. He caught me on the right shoulder, cutting deep into my muscle with the double blade.

He chuckled when he withdrew it from my wound. “Not fast enough, Wolf.”

I lifted an eyebrow, looking at the gash across his stomach. Had it gone any deeper, I would have disemboweled him.

“Lucky this time.” I rasped. My breathing came fast and shallow.

He was also tiring, leaning on his sword, the point embedded into the ground.

Giving up already?” I sneered at him.

“No, but you might want to.” He lifted his chin, pointing towards the rampart.

The daylight had faded fast, but what chilled the blood in my veins was who I saw there on the ramparts holding my mate’s limp body in his arms. Athan, the Vampire!
