Teaching My Bookworm Stepsister

Chapter 55

Kapri's P.O.V.

This is utter bullsh,it! I can't believe that I actually believed Maverick when he said that he hadn't planned to come here with Sally! Why would he even ask me to come here if she was coming? Is he stupid or something? Who am I kidding? It's Maverick I'm talking about. Of course he's stupid.

I marched up the stairs into the room with my stuff. I locked the door behind me. Not that I think Maverick will come after me or anything. It's not like I matter. He has a whole other girl down there. Who's probably draped all over him. Ugh! I think I might be sick!

I plopped on the bed, and my body slumped. We were just about to start doing stuff. Maverick was just about to take my shirt off. I thought that I was going to lose my virginity on this trip.

I was such an idiot.

No, Maverick is the idiot. This is all his fault. All of it. My stupid feelings for him. This trip. My unreasonable hatred towards Sally. Everything is that douche bags fault.

I need to get out of here. Before Maverick makes some kind of excuse. I'm not sure I can resist those honey brown eyes.

Ugh! Listen to me! I sound just like those other girls I always hear gushing over Maverick.

I pulled out my phone, and called Brooke. If anyone will come to get me, no questions asked, it's her.

"Hey boo." Brooke answered.

"Brooke, it's awful. Terrible. My worst nightmare." I said.

"I know sweetie." She said.

"Wait, you know?" I asked.

"Look, I don't want to give you any reasons to stop being mad at Maverick, 'cause what the actual fu.ck." She said. "Buuuut... He's on Trevor's phone in the other room. I think he called Trevor to come get Sally. Or at least, that's what it was sounding like." She told me. What? "Uhm.. really?" I asked, stunned.

"Again, you should most definitely stay mad at him," Brooke said. "But I really don't think he meant for her to come. Boys are just stupid."

"Boys are stupid." I agreed.

I whined dramatically through the phone.

"What do I do now?" I asked.

Brooke sighed.

"Well, we can come get Sally if you want. Give you and Maverick the romantic weekend alone you two wanted." She said.

"I feel like there's an 'or' coming," I commented.

Brooke laughed.

"Or, we can all come and spend the weekend together. All of us get a weekend away. You get to hang out with your friends and Maverick. And.. you can be all over Maverick in front of Sally." She told me.

All over Maverick in front of Sally? I could give her a taste of her own medicine. And hang out with my friends. But..

"Maverick and I are siblings.. I can't just.. be all over him." I said.

Brooke tsked me through the phone.

"Please, Kapri. What did Sally think the two of you were doing in that cabin all alone?" She asked.

"You think.. she knows about Maverick and I?" I asked, shocked.

"She probably at least suspects something. And who cares if you are all over Maverick? Who's she gonna tell?" Brooke said.

"Everyone at school.." I mumbled.

"And if Maverick denies it, everyone will believe him," She replied.

Brooke has a point. A point that makes me feel... really bad. Just the thought of Maverick denying anything between us makes me sad.. Although, the thought of leaving the two of them alone in this cabin for the weekend makes me feel worse. "Okay fine." I said. "Let's do it."

"Alright, I'll get everyone ready, and get there as soon as we can." Brooke said.

"Okay." I replied before hanging up.

This is complete sh.it. We had such a nice day without Sally at school. The drive up here was so nice. All for things to be ruined.

The doorknob to the room started to shake suddenly. I gasped in shock, and then frowned. He better not have a key.

"Kapri.. let me in." Maverick said from the other side of the door.

""No." I stated.

"Kap-"

"I threw your stuff into the room across the hall so you have no need to bother me! Just go have fun with Sally!" I shouted. That was definitely a lie. I did not move his stuff. I just want him to go away.

"The room across the hall, huh?" Maverick asked.

"Yup, so bye." I replied.

"The room across the hall is a closet full of extra bedsheets, Kapri," Maverick told me.

Sh.it.

"Well, if you don't leave me alone for now... I'm going to throw your sh.it out the damn window!" I shouted.

I heard Maverick sigh from the other side.

"Our friends are coming up." He told me.

"I know." I stated.

""Do you now?" He asked.

I didn't reply.

"Kapri, I didn't know she was coming here. I swear." Maverick promised.

I didn't reply.

"I was really looking forward to spending the weekend alone with you. We were going to watch your favorite movies and drink wine. I was going to take you into the little town, and show you all of my favorite shops." He said. Really..?

"I'm sorry that things in your life keep getting ruined because of me. If you don't want to come out, you don't have to. I'll send the girls up when they get here." Maverick said. "But.. I am going to let you know that I'm going into the room next to this one. Alone. Where I will stay. Alone. Unless you want me to stay with you. I won't be going back downstairs to hang out with Sally, and I will not be sharing a bed with anyone who isn't you, Kapri." He declared.

Shock took over my body. Is he serious? Why?

I got up to walk to the door. I really want to see him. I want to believe him. It's hard not to when even Brooke told me he was telling the truth.

I can let him in, and still be mad at him, right?

If I open this door, and Maverick is still there, I'll let him in. I'll be mad still, but.. I'll let him stay in here with me.

I took a deep breath, and unlocked the door. I pulled it open to still see Maverick still in the hallway. His shocked honey-brown eyes looked into my light green ones.

All of the breath was knocked out of my lungs at the look he was giving me. Maverick clearly wasn't expecting me to open the door for him. Part of me wants to just throw his suitcase at him, and slam the door in his face.

Before I could even decide what to do next, Maverick had me in his arms. It took him seconds to wrap his large frame around my small one. Then he immediately smashed his lips to mine.

This kiss is different than the ones we've shared before. Maverick feels.. desperate. Like he's afraid I'm going to disappear if he stops.

And I don't want him to stop.

I wrapped my arms around his neck. Maverick gripped my a.ss, and lifted me into the air. I instinctively wrapped my legs around him. I heard the door slam shut, and then my back was pushed against a wall.

I tried to pull away, but Maverick refused to let my lips leave his. I just wanted him to start kissing me in other places. I didn't want to stop.

But I guess this is nice too.

I pushed my fingers through Maverick's hair, making him groan into my mouth. He bit down on my bottom lip, and sucked it into his mouth. I moaned loudly, and Maverick pushed his body into mine more.

I pulled Maverick's shirt up, hoping he would get the hint. He pulled his lips from mine long enough to strip his shirt over his head. I didn't even get to look at him, he was so quick to press his lips back to mine. So, I just moved my hands all over his body instead. Maverick moved one hand under my shirt. I shoved on his chest as I lifted my shirt up more. He wouldn't stop kissing me though.

So, I gave up. I let Maverick keep kissing me. Our tongues dancing along each other. I enjoyed the feeling of his fingers lightly scraping across my skin. And when he reached my n****e.. I pushed more into him.

Someone knocked on the door. I tried to pull away, but Maverick caught my lips again. There was another knock, but I'm not even sure Maverick can hear it at this point.

I tried to speak, but it was hard with his tongue in my mouth. Fu.ck it. It's just Sally anyway. She can fu.ck right off.

Another knock sounded at the door. This one was much louder. This time when I pulled away from Maverick, he just started kissing down my neck.

"M-Maverick.." I half moaned.

Another loud knock.

"D-don't you.. hear that?" I asked him.

Maverick bit down on my neck roughly. He's going to leave a hickey on me again. Right in a spot where everyone can see it this time.

"I don't give a flying fu.ck who's at the door." He mumbled against my skin.

Maverick started to kneed my a.ss cheeks as he bit down on the other side of my neck. I moaned as my eyes fluttered shut. I don't care either. Not when Maverick is doing all of this to me. Another knock came to the door. I say knock, but it was more like a banging. So loud that it made me jump, and Maverick pause.

"What?!" Maverick bit out harshly.

"Sorry to interrupt." Sally lied. "You guys wanna play some games while we wait for everyone to get here?"
