Chapter 54
Chapter 54
The thought flashed through Seraphina’s mind before it was interrupted by Leandro’s lips on her neck, making her gasp out loud.
Hearing her seductive moan, Leandro broke off the kiss and looked at her. Seraphina didn’t feel embarrassed at all, it was just instinct.
But she was a bit puzzled Wasn’t Leandro supposed to hate her guts? The guy who wouldn’t touch her even if she was the last woman on earth, why was he acting like this now?
Could it be that even if he loathed her to the core, seeing her in Balch’s arms still stirred up his so–called male possessiveness and pride?
However, Seraphina quickly dismissed this thought. After all, Leandro would never be thinking so
How can such a cold fish be swayed by emotions?
So, there’s only one possible explanation left. He’s probably worned about his grandpa’s condition and just looking for a way to blow off steam, and she just happened to be there
At this thought, Seraphina couldn’t help but chuckle.
Leandro looked at her, “Something funny?”
“Yeah, funny: Seraphina lifted her gaze to meet his, “And here I thought Mr. Reynolds had the patience of a saint. Turns out you’re not that different from any other guy When push comes to shove, I don’t look so bad, do 17”
“So this is your true feelings for Balch?” Leandro sneered
Seraphina looked down at herself, then reached up to touch her own clothes.
“My true feelings for him are right here, but right now my body is not under my control. I don’t have the strength to push you away. Do you really think if I say ‘I don’t want to, you will suddenly grow a heart and let me go?”
As soon as Seraphina finished speaking, Leandro tightened his grip on her. She let out a cry, her body curling up slightly as she leaned against Leandro for support. Tve told you before, whether you want to or not, it doesn’t matter to me,” Leandro said emotionlessly. His actions, however, were anything but.
Just as things were about to spiral out of control, hurried footsteps and Lacy’s voice came from the hallway, “Mr. Reynolds, Conway’s awake!”
By the time Seraphina got to Conway’s bedside, Conway was looking listless. It wasn’t until he saw her that a spark returned to his eyes.
“Grandpa, you scared me. Are you feeling ok?” Seraphina whispered, holding Conway’s hand.
Conway smiled, patting her arm gently with a somewhat hoarse voice, “I’m fine”
As he was speaking. Conway’s gaze suddenly shifted to a certain spot on Seraphina’s body.
Following his gaze, Seraphina noticed a vivid hickey on her neck. She quickly covered it with her hand, pretending nothing happened “Grandpal”
Conway diverted his gaze, locking at the ceiling and laughing
Seraphina knew she looked a mess right now. Conway lying in bed couldn’t see her wrinkled dress, but judging by his laughter, he probably guessed it.
She couldn’t help but give Conway a glare
After Conway finished laughing, he asked, “Where’s Leandro?”
Seraphina rolled her eyes. “Of course you’d ask about your grandson first. He’s not as devoted as me. I came to see you the moment you woke up!
No sooner had she finished speaking than Leandro walked in through the door.
Seraphina turned around and saw that Leandro had changed his clothes. She glanced down at his lower body, the bulge from earlier was gone.
Turning back, Seraphina found Conway staring at her.
“Grandpa” Seraphina didn’t want to stay in this awkward atmosphere. “Since you’re awake, I’m going to leave now! Rest up. I’ll come to see you another day”
As soon as she finished speaking, she stood up and turned to leave
Conway immediately became anxious, attempting to sit up despite his weakness
Leandro stepped forward and grabbed Seraphina’s arm, pulling her back to Conway’s bedside.
Seraphina turned her head and saw that Conway had gone pale again. She got scared and hurriedly soothed him, “Grandpa, don’t move! I’m not leaving. I’m not leaving!*
Once Conway had recovered, he gave her a glare, “You’re really trying to give me a hard time, aren’t you?”
Seraphina couldn’t help but applaud Conway’s ability to turn the tables on her.
Conway glanced at her, then at Leandro, his eyes full of pride.
Leandro stood to the side, his arms crossed, not saying a word
Conway was initially weak, but having Seraphina by his side chatting with him made him feel a lot better.
Before they knew it, it was already 2 am Seraphina, who had been keeping a regular schedule, couldn’t help but yawn
“Tired already?” Conway looked at her somewhat discontentedly
Seraphina propped her head up with her hand, “Grandpa, atent you tired?”
“Why would I be tired?” Conway said, “I finally get to chat with you and you’re already out of steam? Where’s that youthful energy?”
Seraphina conceded defeat
Leandro had left the room two hours ago and was probably sound asleep by now, while she was still here, struggling to stay awake.
“Alright, alright, I’ll go wash my face and then come back to keep you company, okay?”
Seraphina left Conway’s room and stood at the door for a moment before slowly heading towards the east end of the comdor
When she got to the fifth door, she stopped
This used to be her room, where she lived for eight years.
Seraphina took a deep breath, gripped the doorknob, turned it, and to her surprise, the door opened easily. She instinctively reached out to touch the wall, flipping the switch The familiar light immediately lit up the entire room.
For a moment, Seraphina was lost in thought.
After seven years, the room she used to live in looked exactly the same as it did back then.
Everything in her room had been perfectly preserved.
Seraphina walked into the room, looking around at all the familiar stuff, and for a moment, she was kind of spaced out, until she caught sight of herself in the
mirror
Twenty–five–year–old Seraphina standing in her room from when she was eighteen felt like a fish out of water.
She snapped back to reality, looking at her wrinkled dress in the mirror and couldn’t help but chuckle.
Then, Seraphina opened the closet in her room and found her old clothes.
The old house had always been taken care of, and surprisingly enough, even her room was no exception. There was still a faint fragrance lingering on her old clothes as Seraphina picked them up.
Seraphina casually picked out a dress that should still fit and headed to the bathroom.
