Chapter 53
Chapter 53
Although Leandro offered two choices, Seraphina knew he was referring to the same thing, her past sins in this place.
Seraphina could not suppress a chuckle, asking. “Which reply do you believe will pacify Mr. Reynolds?” Her smile, simultaneously coy and daring, graced her lips as she pivoted slowly to confront Leandro
Leandro, an imposing figure of towering height and impenetrable resolve, radiated an aura that seemed to petrify the air surrounding him. He retorted, “Your response is the one I seek *
Forewarning him with a note of sorrow in her voice, Seraphina moved towards him, confidently locking her gaze with his intense stare, “I fear you’re in for a disappointment, Mr. Reynolds. There are aspects of my past I shan’t dwell upon, for they bear no significance. Nor will I express remorse, as regret has never been my companion”
Leandro observed her, his expression as unyielding as a stone sculpture, clearly unfazed by her words.
She couldn’t help but arch an eyebrow at him, “You let me go out of the goodness of your heart back then, Mr. Reynolds. Are you settling scores now?”
“Not in a hurry,” Leandro replied, “III settle the score slowly after your game with Balch is over”
A soft laugh escaped from Seraphina, “Game? I’m not the type to play with feelings, Mr. Reynolds, don’t slander me.”
Leandro cracked a smile at her words.
“No more investigations?” he asked.
“Just insider trading, which big company isn’t involved in one or two of these?” Seraphina replied calmly, “Two people together is an exchange of true feelings, these minor issues are irrelevant.”
“Is it?” Leandro leaned in a little closer, “Why don’t we test how genuine Balch’s feelings for you really are?”
Seraphina could tell something was off with him.
He was probably upset, maybe because of his grandfather’s illness. He had smoked a lot, and the smell of tobacco was stronger than usual. But mixed with the scent of perfume, it was just right.
The aura this man gave off was dangerous and alluring.
“What do you have in mind, Mr. Reynolds?” Seraphina asked, looking up at him.
Without a word, Leandro hooked his arm around her waist, spun her around, and pressed her against the wall, leaning in for a kiss.
The kiss was full of lust and possession.
Seraphina tried to break free, but Leandro held her firmly.
All her usual tricks for dealing with men were useless, and her mind went blank, leaving only one thought what the hell was he up to?
Leandro’s hand had already found its way under her skirt.
Seraphina snapped back to reality and grabbed his hand.
He broke off the kiss and slowly moved his other hand up her slender, white neck.
Seraphina looked at him, “Is this your way of testing Balch’s feelings for me, Mr. Reynolds? That’s quite the noble cause.”
Leandro buried his head in her neck, his voice low, “You’re jumping to conclusions too soon.”
With that, he effortlessly parted her legs again with the hand she had grabbed.
Before Seraphina could react, Leandro was kissing her neck.
This was sure to leave marks.
A dangerously enticing thought flashed through Seraphina’s mind – maybe this could actually provoke Balch?
