FK's restaurant....!

A familiar female voice groans as I bumped into her while walking in... I quickly raises my head to apologise.

"I'm sorry, I didn't.... Laura?" I called in a surprise tone.

"Debby!" She smiled and gave me a brief hug.

She pulls away from the hug and adjust the bags in her hands. I look around trying to find Michael but he's not in sight. "Laura, why are you here alone? Where is your husband?" I asked.

"Oh, I came by to get some veggies from my sister... and Michael is meeting up with the boys!"

"Your sister?"

"Yeah, my elder sister owns this restaurant"

"You mean.. Mason's mom is your sister?!"

She nods.. this world is really a small place, who would've thought Laura and Mason's mom are sisters. "Are you here to eat?"

"I'm actually meeting a friend here"

She frowns a little and chuckles.

"Ok, I know you ain't the type to cheat on Andre.. but is this friend a he or she?"

I laughed at her question.. it's kinda funny.

"A she!" I replied.

We shared a good laugh.

"Well, is she here yet?"

"Nope... I guess?"

"Well, I have been meaning to tell you a proper thank you for helping me save my marriage... "

I rolled my eyes and release an exaggerated sigh.

"Laura..." I drag her name. "There's no need to thank me, I did nothing at all"

"Don't be so modest... My marriage was on the verge of breaking apart, but you came at the right time.... please, let me treat you to a meal" "You don't have to...."

"No, I have to and besides, we are friends already... let's have a meal together until your friend arrive"

I think about it... She's just trying to show her gratitude, rejecting her won't be so nice.

Also, I could use her company while waiting for Anna... I smiled and nod.

"Ok, let's find a table" I said.

I look around and saw an empty table by the window.. I point towards it.

"Let's go there!" I told her.. I grab her hand and rushed towards the table. We sit down and a waiter approach us... wearing a warm welcoming smile. "Welcome to FK's... what would you like to order?"

Looking at the waiter a second time, I realized he's not familiar.. which means he's new here, else he would have known my usual.

Hmm, well, I don't wanna stuff my stomach.. I plan to have dinner with my sweetheart later.

Rewind... Sweetheart?!

Why do I suddenly like the sound of that?

"Debby?" Laura snaps her fingers across my eyes.

I blinked.

"What's your order?" She asked me.

"Oh! I'll only need a sandwich and a cup of sweet coffee!" I told the waiter.

He turns to Laura...

"I'll have the same as her" she told him... he quickly left to go get our order.

Right at that moment, the bell at the entrance rings.. indicating a new customer came in.

I raised my head and saw Anna looking around.. I guess she's looking for me.

"Anna!" I waved her over.

She sees me and wave back, she rushed to our table and makes herself comfortable in a chair between Laura and I.

"Sorry, I'm late..." She paused when she sees Laura. "This is.." she trails off.

"Let me introduce you... Anna this is Laura, my friend.... Laura this is Anna, my childhood friend and boss!"

They both shake hands and I rolled my eyes... what are they? Business partners?

I and Laura's order arrived.. Anna quickly ordered the same thing too.

"So, Debby, remember that news about CHIC I mentioned earlier?" Anna asked.

I nod, since my mouth is stuffed with sandwich and can't speak... I chew quickly because I know what she's gonna say next will make me scream.

"Well, I just received an email that we can still sign the contract!!" She said excitedly.

I squeal... Laura closes her ears and stares at me weirdly.

"We're gonna be their designer and model!" Anna added and joins me.

Laura claps her hands to get our attention... Anna and I quiet down to listen to her.

"Er... Isn't CHIC Andre's company?" She asked.

"Yeah" Anna and I replied.

She nods thoughtfully.

"That's why they let you sign the contract after that scandal" she said.

She's right... CHIC have a very strict principle, they don't give second chances.

But since it's my boyfriend's company, bending the rules a little bit for me isn't that bad.. right?

"It doesn't matter why they let us sign the contract... what matters is that we get to make our dreams come true" Anna said.

Laura and I nod.

"You're right" Laura supports her.

Speaking about the contract.. I suddenly remembers Lucas.

"Anna, how is Lucas doing? Have you checked on him?"

"I don't know how he's doing currently.. but doctor Mike back in Spain told me his condition is stable but his CT scan results will tell it he's really alright" I nod.

"Lucas? Isn't he the male model Andre fought on stage?" Laura asked.

So she watched the news too.. I guess she noticed my surprised expression. She chuckles lightly.

"Don't get me wrong... I love watching fashion cup updates"

Oh.. now it makes sense. Laura shake her head.

"Andre, did a number on that guy... I thought he'd pass out"

"He did pass out!" Anna and I said almost at once.

We all sighed... Lucas is going through a lot of pain because of me.. because of my lie.

Had I told Andre the truth about joining the fashion cup... Had I had the courage to enter his presidential suite and let him see me.. this wouldn't have happened. Lucas wouldn't be lying on a hospital bed by now... It's all because of my lie.

But you can't blame me... Andre always flips when he hears Lucas's name.

Heck, it's important I tell him about Lucas's family issue.. but he's gonna throw a big tantrums, so it's best I keep it to myself.

"Anna, let's go visit Lucas after we're done here" I suggest.

"Ok.. I was actually thinking the same thing!" She agreed. Laura's phone rings and she quickly reached for it. "Hello?"

"Right now?"

.....

"Oh, oh, I'll be right there!" She said and hangs up.

She stands up and picked her bags carefully.

We continue eating our sandwich in silence... then I remembered Sean.

I nudge Anna gently and she stops eating and look at me.

I clear my throat.

"How is it going with you and Sean? I remember he was clinging onto you in Spain"

Her cheeks instantly flame up and she smiled broadly.

"Nothing much"

"Nothing much?"

"Well, you know I haven't been in a relationship for a long time now... so, I wanna give Sean a chance and see where it leads us"

I nod... Anna always believed in fairy tales.. happily ever after... but her previous relationship was in fact the opposite of happily ever after.

Her ex was always cheating on her and looking down on her... no matter how hard Anna tries to be his equal. So, Anna decided to give up. She giving Sean a chance is a very rare opportunity.

"Well, I'm happy that you're ready to give yourself a second chance!" I told her.

"I'm kinda happy too.. maybe Sean will be different"

I nod.

"I know he's different... let me tell you a secret"

"A secret?"

"Yeah... Andre and his friends are all psychopaths... they cling to the woman they love and never let her go... take Andre and Michael as an example... I know Sean won't be any different!" I told her. "I hope so... I'll be so damn happy if Sean is possessive over me as Andre is over you"

I laugh. "Don't worry, my darling... Sean is the one for you!"

Just then my phone beep... I reach for it and saw a message from an unknown number.

*I have informations about your birth mother... see me tomorrow at ELSA... 4pm!*

I frown... I didn't let anyone know I'm looking for my Mom. How did this person find out?

I don't know if I should tell Andre about this... well, it's not important for now.

I got up. "Anna, let's go visit Lucas!"

"Ok!"
