Debby's pov

Grant hospital....!

I walked straight to the receptionist and passed the receptionist a warm smile.

"Hello.. welcome to Grant!"

"Hello... I'm Debby Ryan, can you point me to Mrs Craig's ward?"

She paused and recognition dawn in her eyes. "I called you this morning"

I nod.

"Hold on, please... I'll inform doc Antonio you're here!" She uses the desk phone on her table.

Then she turns to me with a smile. "A nurse will be with you shortly!"

"Ok, thank you!"

I waited a few minutes and a female nurse approaches me.

"Miss Ryan, doctor Antonio is ready to see you!"

"Ok!"

She leads the way and I followed... Soon we arrived at a door, she pushes it open and we step in.

"Doctor Antonio, she's here!"

Doctor Antonio raises his eyes... I can say I'm quite surprise, I thought doctor Antonio would be an old man... about 60 or so.

But surprisingly, he's just a young man.. he should be the same age as Andre.

"Miss Ryan, please sit!" He gestures to the chair in front his desk.

"Thank you!" I said and sits down.

He nods at the nurse and she leaves.

"Miss Ryan, we're sorry for troubling you, it's just.. we've been trying to contact Mr Craig all night but couldn't.. so we had to reach you" he explained. "Oh, it's nothing"

"But I hope Mr Craig is ok"

"Yeah... But he's involved in a minor accident... you can tell me anything and I'll relate it to him"

He nods and reached for a file.. he placed it in front of me. I wanted to pick it up but he stops me.

"Before you open this, I want to know what your relationship with Mr Craig is"

Hmm.. what should I tell him? I can't say I'm Lucas's girlfriend.. that means I'm indirectly cheating on Andre.

But I really wanna know what I wanna know what happened... if I say I'm just a friend, Antonio won't tell me anything useful.

I sigh.

"I'm his family friend!"

I think that's better than saying I'm his girlfriend.

"If that's the case..." He releases the file.

I flipped through pages and my mouth hangs open in shock... I can't believe this.

"As you can see Miss Ryan, we've been trying our best to treat Mrs Craig.... but recent she's becoming more aggressive and attacking nurses who goes in to check on her... some times she simply sits and talks to herself" No! This can't be... Lucas mother is....

"I think she needs to visit a psychiatric hospital for proper treatment!"

She's mad!

"We've been treating her for three years now but her condition doesn't show any progress... leaving her here will be a waste of her time and our efforts... I'm afraid her condition will keep getting worse if she's not taken to the psychiatric hospital in time!"

Now I understand why Lucas always leaves our gathering... is this the emergency he always mentions?

"What do you say Miss Ryan,

"No!" I said quickly.

you gonna sign the transfer papers, so we can send her there in time?"

I can't make any decisions behind Lucas's back.

"Please, continue taking care of her for some weeks... when Lucas is alright again, I'll tell him about this"

"Ok! But just to let you know... we don't have much time left"

I nod..

"Can I please see Mrs Craig before I leave?"

"Oh, sure!" He pressed a button on his table. "Nurse Melinda, please come to my office!"

The door opens and that female nurse from earlier comes in.... so, her name is Melinda. "Doctor Antonio?"

"Take Miss Ryan to Mrs Craig's ward"

"Ok, sir!" She turns to me. "Miss, please come with me"

I got up and hands the file back to Antonio.

"Thank you, doc.... I'll leave after seeing her!"

"No problem... please do take care!"

I nod and follows Melinda out of the office.... after walking pass so many wards, we finally stop.

Melinda opens the door and I step in.

"Have a nice day, Miss"

"Thank you!" She simply nods and leaves.

I take slow, light steps towards the bed.... a woman in her forties lays on it... sleeping so soundly.

I sat on the chair next to her bed and took a closer look at her face.... I don't need a DNA test to tell me she's Lucas's mother.

Looking around, I saw a picture on the table... it's a family photo.

A man... this woman... and a little boy... whom I assume is Lucas.

They are all smiling brightly like one big happy family.... seeing this photo reminds me of how pathetic I am.

This is something I don't have... this is what I have been wishing for since I was 6years old. Lucas have it... but why didn't he tell us?

Is there something he's hiding? Or did something bad happened to his family and he doesn't want us to know about it?

Just then the heart monitoring machine starts beeping.... I looked at Lucas's mother, her fingers are moving which means she'll wake up any minute.

I quickly drop the photo and left the ward in a hurry... I'll wait until Lucas is recovered before asking him about his mother's condition.

Lucas!!

I quickly dialed Anna's number... since Andre fought him in Spain, I haven't check on him.

"Hey, Debs!" Anna says from the other line.

"Anna.. are you back yet?"

"Yeah, let's meet up... I have good news!"

"Goodness?"

"Yep.. it's about CHIC!"

I smile... I guess I already know what this goodnews is about but I pretend not to know.

I check the time on my phone.. it's just 1:30pm. I should walk instead of taking a cab... I'm sure I'll get there before 2pm.

Writer's POV

Anna's apartment....!

"Are you gonna leave now? I have an appointment with Debby!" Anna tells Sean.

"No! Not until you agree to go on a date with me tomorrow!"

Anna rolled her eyes and wore her sneakers... she and Sean have been going on and on about this date since morning.

"I told you... let's pretend like nothing happened between us.. we're strangers, let's not bother each other"

"I don't want us to be strangers... Anna, I'm serious about us... I really do love you"

"No, you don't..... you're just feeling guilty because of what happened between us!"

He frown and stares at her strangely.

"What happened between us? Nothing happened that night... you fell asleep on me!"

Anna paused and stares at him for a few seconds... then she beans into a smile but quickly wipes it off. "Really?! Nothing happened?!"

"No!"

She lets out a relieved sigh. "Thank God!" She mutters under her breath.

She pulled Sean up and kissed his cheek... she doesn't realize what she just did, she's too happy to take note.

Sean touches his cheek and smiles to himself... staring at Anna like he's dreaming.

"You said you wanna date me tomorrow? Ok... come pick me up!" She said.

"I should pick you up?" He asked to confirm.

"Yeah... now drive me to FK's!" She commands.

Sean smiled brightly. "FK's? I don't know where that is!"

She grabs his hand. "I'll direct you!"

Andre's office....!

Andre groans tiredly and massage his shoulders... he's been going through documents after documents.

He reaches for his coffee and found the mug empty.. he slams it on the table and grits his teeth.

His deskphone starts ringing just when he was about to reach for it.

"Phoebe!"

"Mr Knight, a woman is looking for you"

"Who?"

"She said she's Martha Thompson!"

Andre shuts his eyes and sighs... he hated all the Thompsons except Martha.

"Let her in and bring in a cup of coffee for her!" He said and dropped the phone.

In a few minutes, the door open and Martha walks in with a small smile on her face.

Andre gets up when he sees her.

"Martha... please sit!" He offers her a seat.

She sits down. "Thank you, Andre"

Andre nods and sat on his chair.... Phoebe comes in a placed a cup of coffee in front of Martha.

"Thank you" Martha tells her... she simply smiles and left.

"This is a surprise visit, Martha!" Andre said.

"Yes.. I haven't seen you in a long time now. How have you been?" She asked in her calm voice.

Andre's jaw clenched.. he knows exactly what Martha meant by asking that.

"As you can see, I'm fine!"

"That's good.. that's good!" She reached for the coffee and takes a sip.

Studying her body language, Andre knew at once that something is bothering her.

"Martha... why did you come to look for me?"

Martha drops the coffee and clears her throat.

"Andre, I know what you went through after your breakup with Olivia.. I know how much she hurt you and...."

"Hold on!" He cuts her off. "If you are here for Olivia, please leave!"

"Please hear me out... I know Olivia did wrong, she shouldn't have hurt you the way she did but trust me.. she regrets it now and she's willing to change.. just give her a chance, please... she really does love you" "Love me?" He laughs sarcastically. "She loves me! Well, I don't love her no more.. I have moved on and it's time she move on too"

"You know she can't..."

"She can! I already have a woman.. should I leave my woman for her?"

"But she..."

"But nothing, Martha. Olivia destroyed me and I know Debby went through hell to repair me.... hell she's still going through hell to make me better. That is true love!"

Martha sighed....

"Olivia and I can't be together... it's best she get rid of that idea or she will get herself hurt!"

"Olivia isn't the same as she was three years ago...."

"Yeah... I'm not the same as three years ago too!" Andre got up and walked towards the glass window, he tucked his hands in his pocket. "Martha, leave now.... I don't wanna hear another word about Olivia!" The finality in is voice is so obvious... Martha got up.

"Please think about it... Olivia is a changed girl"

"Leave!"

She sighs heavily... she just realized that it's no use trying to convince Andre.

*I'll have to speak with Debby then!* She thought.

Andre inhale deeply and reached for his phone... he sent a quick message to the boys to meet at their usual spot.
