Chapter 43

"Really? That's the first thing that pops into your head?" I sarcastically remarked while getting a glass cup from one of the cabinets above the counter. "You need to get laid."

I turned to look at him from the kitchen when Finn glared at me. "Not funny." He stood from the couch and joined me in the kitchen, leaning against the island while I filled my glass with tap water. Finn was wearing black ripped jeans and a black Adidas T-shirt, looking very hot right now. "But incase you were wondering, I tend to notice everything about you. That, and that fact that it's kind of obvious."

I placed the cup on the island counter while making eye contact with Finn. I bit the corner of my lip and smiled. "I did something out of character today." Finn's brows furrowed in confusion and probably worry. He tended to do that. "Hope you like it though, because you're going to have to look at it for a long, long time."

Finn opened his mouth to ask me what I did, when I pulled my shirt over my head and placed it on the island counter. The cold air of the apartment pricked the hairs on my neck and arms, a cool shiver working its way through my spine. My left arm held my boob up so I could get all of the tape up with my right hand. I slowly pealed it back before taking the padding covering the tattoo off exposing the freshly inked skin to my boyfriend.

My eyes found his again, but he wasn't looking at my face. He was looking at my sternum. I could tell by the slight smile on his face that he liked it. Thank God. "I really like that. It's beautiful but it's also sexy as fuck." That was the perfect reaction. Finn but his lip alittle and eyed it some more. He really needed to get off and I found it sort of hilarious that he's so blue balled right now.

"Why a seagull?" Finn asked, not taking his eyes off of it.

I'm not a fan of couple tattoos. I think that's a horrible choice, but I wouldn't be lying if Finn didn't have something to do with this one. "From the beaches of California, or the Sound, and all the way to the shores of Tokyo. I love the beach. I've had a lot of special moments there." The beach was my favorite place. Where Finn and I first got along, our first lap dance, first date, and all those romantic moments after. All the times I had with my friends in Connecticut and in California. The beach was home. "But that's not it. There's one more."

I raised my left arm and turned a little so he could see the dark font on my pale side. "Forged in the hottest fire, shaped with the strongest blows, an unbreakable sword is created." Finn murmured while I felt his thumb go back and forth below the tender skin. "That's a beautiful quote to go with that tattoo."

I turned around to face him again, putting my arms around his neck. My breasts brushed his shirt and I knew in the back of my mind that once we could have sex again, he was going to take pleasure in exacting his sweet revenge on me for this. But I didn't care. "I'm glad you like them. I got the quote and the bird to remind me to be strong. To soar above my problems and limitations, as cliché and crazy as it might sound."

"They're beautiful. What's not to like?" He smiled at me lovingly. "I like the meaning behind them. It makes it all the more personal."

I stood on my tippy toes and gave Finn a kiss. He kissed me back before pulling away and groaning. "I hate you so much right now. Your practically dangling meat in front of a starving man."

I smirked and pulled away from him, putting my full upper body on display. "I guess you'll just have to starve." I laughed and picked up my shirt, walking past him and into our bedroom. "You are so going to get it in two weeks!"

Bring it on.
