Chapter 19

Finn and I continued to trade unless facts about Connecticut, like how Caitlyn Jenner and Mark Twain lived here, well into the early hours of the morning. At one point we eased through the warm water as we walked along the shoreline and back. I loved to feel the rising and falling of the waves in my calves.

Somehow we ended up chasing each other around the beach at which point Finn laughed at me for having my hold my boobs as I ran without a bra to which I responded by tackling him into the sand. We rolled around like elementary school kids before retiring and staring up at the stars that where fading into the orange and pink sunrise in the East.

We much have fallen asleep on the beach because we were both jolted awake by the luke warm water splashing up on our calves. I jolted up from where my head laid on Finn's chest and I scrambled away from the shore line where the high tide was starting to come in.

My careless regard for the disturbance of Finn's sleeping body as I fled in combination with the water crashing against his bare hot skin caused my boyfriends eyes to shoot open. I watched with amusement as he too scrambled like a newborn giraffe to get out of the waves. He glared at me with those deep jade eyes when I burst out laughing at him.

I had forgotten how much fun we had when there was nothing on the outside world to worry about. When reality fell away and we could just be ourselves without a care in the world. No trials, grades, money, other people, lacrosse, anything. Just us.

It made me remember what it was like to be a little kid. But it also brought out the best in our personalities. The things that often hid away when life got stressful. We didn't have news crews stalking us or people with their eyes glued to our every move; We were ourselves and only ourselves..

Moments like these made me fall in love with Finn all over again. It gave me the space to see all the small things we did together when times got tough and appreciate the current time we were having.

I lived for moments like this.

"Do you know what time it is?" I asked Finn while he ran his hand through his sexily messy hair. It was the perfect length to sweep to the side without product and just long enough to fall over his forehead when hit hand brushed it. "No. I didn't bring my phone, dumb ass." He replied while messing with my hair. I swayed his hands away and pushed his chest with both hands. Finn stumbled back a step before scoping me up in his arms and throwing me over his shoulder. It didn't take me long to realize what he was doing. "Finn! I'll fucking kill you! I'm breaking up with your ass! I'm serious!" I honestly tried my best to twist out of his grip. I didn't just hit his back like cliché little girls in books, no I practically twisted his arm off, I was moving around so much.

One of his arms was around my hips while his other large hand held the backs of my thighs against his chest so I couldn't kick him. "Finn I literally swear that I'm going to break up with you if you drop me in the water!" "But you 'love me more than I can comprehend'. You wouldn't torture yourself like that." Finn laughed satanicly.

"I'll drag you under with me! And don't give me that 'I hate you more than I love myself crap' because we know that's not true!"

"What if I love to annoy you more than I love myself? You can't argue with that." He retorted as his ankles hit the ice water. It wasn't freezing, in fact it was probably the same temperature as last night but the hotter atmosphere made it feel colder by comparison.

"But you love me and annoying me makes me unhappy but you should want to make me happy because you love me so this is a bad choice on your part." I started rambling, abandoning the panicked tone that wasn't working on him. God knows this won't do anything either.

Finn stopped when the water was up to his knees. He leaned back slightly to throw me before I slipped backwards, my face almost touching the water as I screamed like a little girl before he grabbed me last second laughing. "That was funny until you screamed. I don't have ears anymore." He muttered.

"You pretended to drop me? You fucking bastard! I'll castrate you!" I screeched. I though he was actually going to drop me but he was just fooling with me.

"Drop you on your head? No. I'm not that stupid." He said sarcastically while shifting my body forwards as I let out another yelp, locking my arms around his upper chest. "You know I could just dunk us both like last time...." once again he pretended to drop me and I squealed again. I was not ready for the cold water.

"Finn. Baby. Please." I pleaded in a serious tone.

"When you put it that way..." he trailed off before his knees gave way and he pulled me underwater with him. The cold water engulfed my figure. Goose bumps covered my skin and my muscles contracted on instinct. Finn pulled my body up since it was still on his shoulder before setting me on my feet. "That wasn't so bad." He said mockingly.

"I fucking hate you." I muttered while pushing my wet hair back from my face.

"No you don't. Come on, it's getting late in the morning. Your Dad's probably worried."

"If you though my dad was worried you wouldn't have wasted time dunking me in the water." I fired at him. "Give me a piggy back ride and maybe I'll forgive you." My bargain was more of an order. Finn didn't look convinced. "Maybe you'll even get lucky...." I trailed off.

In a second he turned around and crouched down a little for me to climb into his muscular and built back. "Don't have to tell me twice."

I rolled my eyes but none the less, I smiled while climbing onto his back. Finn's arms banded around my legs and he stood up fully. "You're lucky I love you." He mood seemed to dampen. "Do I still have to go to the gym? Because I think this counts as a workout. What are you? 157 now?"

"Yeah. Don't need to rub it in." I muttered as he walked back up the beach.

Finn groaned. "We are not having this conversation like you don't understand how this works. Muscle is more than fat. Have you always felt this way?" He asked suddenly concerned for me.

"No," I answered truthfully. "But I went to the doctor to change birth control last week and the woman gave me a look when I said 157." It's not even that heavy.

"Well she's an idiot because you could kick her ass and your healthier that 99 percent of the people on this planet. Second of all, don't listen to people like that because your sexy as fuck and most people dream of having a body like that." "Thanks babe. It means a lot." I kissed his temple from behind. I wasn't insecure about how I looked but the number sometimes scared me as it did with anyone. It was like the NFL player complex. No one in their right mind would call them fat or unhealthy but the numbers defiantly would. I didn't care unless someone pointed it out. I loved my body a lot which was hard for most people to come by. Training almost all day for a few months lead me to a weight gain in the begging, but it has platoed since then so I'm happy. "What are you since you hit the 1000lb club? 190?"

"196."

"Don't you think it's weird how people can have around the same amount of muscle and be completely different weights? Like even in MMA and stuff. Two guys the same size can have an easy 20lb weight difference. That's crazy." I would never understand how that works no matter how many times someone tries to explain it to me. It was a fruitless effort.

I think Finn agreed with that statement because he shrugged in response as his feet hit the grass of my backyard. When he made it to the patio, I took that as my cue to hop off of his back.

"I can't believe we fell asleep on the beach." I muttered while pulling the sliding door open. "What if someone on a boat saw us and thought we were dead bodies? Could you imagine?" I laughed at the thought of it.

Finn smiled while shaking his head. "Sometimes I wonder what goes through that head of yours."

"We're lucky the courts are closed for Labor Day." I said while glancing at the automated clock in the kitchen. It was already ten thirty. We would be screwed by now.

"I wouldn't have let us stay out that late if we had to be in court." Finn replied like a responsible adult as he picked a note up off the island countertop. "Not sure where you went, but I left for work. See you around 7, Love Dad." He read out loud with a smirk in his voice. I knew what that meant. "Sounds like I have all day to get lucky."

"I need a shower since someone dumped me in the water." I stated while brushing past him to get to the stairs. I turned back at him with a raised eyebrow.

"Like I said before; don't have to tell me twice." I laughed at his eagerness.

"I told you that you only think about sex." I groaned before ascending the wooden staircase. I felt a hand slap my ass; hard. A yelp escaped my throat in surprise but I couldn't deny that turned me on. Finn laughed from behind me and scooped me up bridal style when I reached the top of the stairs.

This man is going to kill me one day.
