Chapter 633
The security guards told Dylan that the couple came to look for their daughter-in-law. They mentioned that her name was Larissa
Seymour.
However, the apartment complex had light security measures. Even if Larissa’s name was on the resident’s list, the security
guards couldn’t let them in.
The guard had informed them that they had to either wait for their daughter-in-law to come and pick them up or have her call the
security office. After receiving her call, only then could they enter the apartment complex
Travis’ parents refused both options. They insisted on kicking up a fuss at the entrance of the apartment complex
In the end, the security guards had to call the police to take them away.
Hearing this, Kevan furrowed his brows. After the Hardy family took the one million dollars from Yvette, they returned to their
hometown. No one had heard anything from them since.
Kevan didn’t bother wasting his time to follow up on them as they didn’t stir up any trouble.
Who could have expected that they would reappear after so many years?
“Why were they looking for Larissa?” Kevan’s tone was cold.
If Dylan were face-to-face with Kevan at this moment, he would have noticed the icy look in Kevan’s eyes.
“I don’t know about that. But I heard that those two had caused some trouble at the Winston Hotel before coming to the
apartment complex” Dylan didn’t have the influence nor the ability to investigate everything within just an hour or two.
Kevan narrowed his eyes and replied. “I’ll return to Caldor tomorrow morning.”
The news of his return to Caldor was only revealed to Lewis and Aster.
Kevan did not specify the reason but simply said that there was something urgent he needed to deal with. Since he was in
charge of managing a huge corporation like Microworks, no one would suspect anything because of the numerous fires he had
to put out daily.
When Lewis sent him to the airport, Kevan took out a document sealed in a kraft paper bag from his briefcase.
“Could you pass this to Larissa?”
Lewis held the paper bag and rubbed it between his fingers. The contents inside seemed very thin, as it there was nothing in it.
“Sure. I’ll pass it to her.” he said.
Kevan lelt very early in the morning. Alter Lewis dropped him off and went to the hospital, it was not yet am.
Larissa did not have a good rest last night, so she woke up later than usual.
When Lewis arrived, she had just gotten out of bed. The caretaker was helping her brush her teeth in the bathroom.
“Why did you come so early today?” With her mouth full of toothpaste, Larissa poked her head out of the bathroom. She looked
at Lewis in confusion, who was making himself comfortable on the sofa.
“I just came over from the airport.” Lewis answered.
Larissa seemed more puzzled than before. So, he explained, “Mr. Rogers had returned to Caldor.”
Looking at Larissa, he took note of the surprise and slight disappointment on her face.
Larissa composed herself and hid her emotions. Diverting her gaze, Larissa withdrew back into the bathroom with an indifferent
reply. “Oh.
The sound of running water was heard for quite some time before it stopped.
Larissa emerged from the bathroom with the support of the caretaker. After washing up, she looked refreshed. Still there was a
gloomy expression on her face.
Larissa turned to glare at Lewis. She remarked, “What nonsense are you spouting? I couldn’t care less about him?”
Although Lewis could see through Larissa’s pretense, he smiled. He changed the subject. With a wave of his hand, he said, “Mr.
Rogers
asked me to deliver something to you. Have a look at it.”
