Sweet Subterfuge

Chapter 632

They returned to the hospital ward. The vibe between them was very different from before.
Kevan had regained some of his past memories. So. Larissa didn’t know how to act around him. He was eager to talk about their
past. Yet she couldn’t muster up the courage to do so. That was the topic she wanted to avoid the most.
Covering her mouth. Larissa pretended to yawn. “I’m feeling a bit tired. You can go about your business while I take a nap.” She
got into bed and puled the covers up to her chin.
Kevan knew that it was an excuse. So he didn’t want to trouble her further.
He went along with her and replied. “Alright get a good rest.”
Kevan came to Westonia for two purposes. First to visit Larissa and second to discuss how to deal with Cody with Gary.
The latter issue was completely resolved the day before. Thus, the reason he stayed back was to spend more time with Larissa,
hoping that it would alleviate his feelings of loneliness while they were apart.
Still it seemed as il Larissa was unwilling to spend time with him after he brought up the past.
Rather than being persistent and annoying her lurther. It would be better for him to be understanding. He had to let her have
some space to think about the situation.
Kevan had cancried all his work duties for the day. He planned to spend the whole day at the hospital at first.
Once Kevan returned to the hotel he called his secretary to rearrange his schedule and 17 up the afternoon with work.
His employees groaned at Kevan’s sudden change of plans.
After the lengthy video conference, Kevan’s secretary messaged him.
“Mr. Rogers, M. Hermes of the Torqua Corporation is having his son’s wedding next Saturday. The invitation was just delivered to
your office today. Mr. Hermes personally called to invite you. Will you be attending?”
The Torque Corporation? It had been a long time since Kevan heard that name.
He remembered that the company’s reputation had been on the decline for the past few years. It was only this year that business
improved due to Lucas’s relationship with the youngest daughter of the Davis family.

Dylan mentioned before that the Davis family wasn’t satisfied with Lucas.
Lucas had been in a relationship with Lana in the past, and he wasn’t outstanding in terms of achievements. He didn’t seem like
the best choice for a son–in–law. Still, the youngest daughter of the Davis family was determined to marry him.
Ms. Davis was used to getting her own way. Despite her family’s objections, she wouldn’t change her mind. Kevan never
expected that they would actually get married in the end.
“I attend the wedding.” Kevan typed his reply. Although he wasn’t close to the Hermes family, he needed to show his courtesy to
the Davis family
“Alright, wil inform Mr. Hermes,” his secretary responded.
That night, Dylan called Kevan out of the blue, asking when he would return to Caldor
“Yes?” Kevan asked.
Dylan would never waste his money on expensive international calls without an important reason.
*Do you remember Larissa’s ex–husband. Or should I say, her first ex–husband? Dylan asked.
That man was the only person whom Larissa had loved.
Kevan had been Jealous of him for many years. He couldn’t largel Travis even if he tried.
“Isn’t he dead? Kevan replied.
To settle things with his family, Yvette paid them a milion dollars as compensation.
“Yes. But I saw his parents this morning at the entrance of our apartment complex”
Travis‘ parents were infamous for their greed. News about them was still circulating online.
Having a strong impression of them, Dylan could recognize them without any difficulty.
At that time, the couple was quarreling with the security at the apartment complex.
Even from a distance. Dylan could hear their loud voices cursing the security guards.

He left the scene and returned to the security booth later to learn about the situation.
