Supernaturals: Legends of Iris.

Chapter Twenty six.

Cole's POV.

I went to the arena to clear my head. After watching Iris train, I was confused. Why did my mate have to be the most powerful supernatural in our fraction. She was the Elysian and I was just a shifter. A regular shifter. I wouldn't be surprised if she rejected me as her mate.

I was surprised to see Iris sitting on the beach. She looked up and met my eyes before giving me a tight lipped smile.

" I should go. I didn't know you were here." I said.

" It's fine. There's enough room for both of us."

We sat in silence until she finally broke it.

" I'm sorry." She said quietly.

" For what?"

" Everything I guess."

" You didn't do anything wrong."

" But I acted wrongly. I've been such a bitch to you guys."

" Iris!" I exclaimed and she chuckled.

" Oh come on, we both know it's true."

" Well, you can be a bit bitchy-ish?"

" Not a bit Cole, a lot." She said.

" What happened?" I asked and she sighed.

" Not today Cole. Not today."

Anonymous' POV.

" Bring him in." I said.

The guards brought the banished supernatural to me and I smiled.

" Hello there. What's your name?" I asked. He looked at me and spat on my face.

I chuckled as I wiped the saliva off. And I turned around and slapped him. Hard!

" Don't you dare disrespect me." I spat.

He chuckled and he spat blood onto the floor.

" There is only one ruler of this fraction. And that is Iris." He said.

" Then why did she banish you?"

" My banishment was my fault."

" I can restore your glory. I can make her beg on her knees for your forgiveness. All you have to do is tell me what you know."

He laughed and then grinned displaying his bloody mouth.

" You must be delusional if you think Iris is ever going to beg." He said.

" She will beg for my mercy!"

" She will never beg!" He spat.

" Take him away."

" You don't know who you're up against! She is more powerful than you can imagine! She will get what she wants! She's coming for you." He yelled as he was dragged away.

" I'm going for her too."

Cole's POV.

Iris had been different in the past couple of days. She was still as strict as ever when it comes to training but she was a tad bit nicer. I could see a glimpse of the old Iris.

Seb and Evie had started dating but he and Iris were still good friends. There was no akwardness during training. They were still a strong duo.

But today, something seemed wrong.

I searched the entire school for Iris and finally found her on the beach. I could hear her quiet sobs and whimpers. She turned when she heard my footsteps tears glistening in her eyes.

I hugged her tightly and she didn't protest. She held me even tighter as she cried into my chest.

" I'm sorry for ruining your shirt." She said as she pulled back and cleaned her face.

" It's okay. I never really liked it anyway." I replied.

" Rose better not hear that. She got you that shirt as a gift. Remember?"

" Oh shit!, Don't tell her I said that." I said and she laughed.

" Are you okay?"

" No. I'm not."

" What's wrong?"

" Today is Austin's birthday. The 3rd of June."

" That's great. Why don't you give him a call?"

" I can't."

" Sure you can, you just have to-"

" I can't cause he's gone."

" I don't understand to school?, Is it a supernatural school? They should allow him-"

" No Cole! He's gone!" She said as the tears started flowing.

" Austin's dead."

Iris's POV.

" I got home that day and we were all happy. I was so excited and so was he. Austin and I went out the next day and I lost control of my powers. Luckily, the mist covered it up. But a guy had seen it. He was a supernatural.

He said he was Fire elementist. And that he was also a teacher at a mixed school for elementists and shifters. He even showed me a couple tricks. And I believed him." I said and I let out a bitter laugh.

" I was so stupid. Austin didn't trust him. He said there was something off about him but I just thought he was being overprotective. We hung out for the rest of the day but Austin was kind of grumpy. But I brushed it off thinking he was probably jealous.

I told him everything about me. Yet I knew nothing about him. He invited me for a picnic the next day. And I was over the moon. I waited and waited and waited for him to show up but he never did. So I went back home, disappointed."

I took a deep breath and continued.

" When I got home, the house was a huge mess. My parents were unconscious but I couldn't find my brother. Then my instincts kicked in and I ran into a forest. He and some of his friends had tied up my brother.

Turns out, they were magicians.

They tortured him, and I begged! I begged them to stop. But didn't listen. The one of them did something and my brother stopped breathing and he fell on the floor, limp. And I was mad. I don't know I was able to do it but I tortured them. I made them feel the pain that my brother had to go through. Until I finally killed them."

" Iris-"

" I couldn't save him. And that point I didn't know what to do. He wasn't dead completely, he still isn't. But I can't bring him back.

" You can Iris. I saw you do it with Bryan."

" No. He was further away from us than Bryan was. I searched every single spell book. I have asked every single magician I have met but…nothing. His body is still at home. I left him with my parents and instructed them not to touch him or tell anyone about it.

I had killer instincts. Literally. I killed based on my instincts. I killed every magician I could find hoping that somehow it would get rid of the guilt I felt but it didn't. I would still have been killing if it wasn't for the Elders. They saved me from my blood thirsty demon. But I will never forgive myself for the death of my brother."

" It wasn't your fault Iris."

" It was Cole. It was all my fault." I said blinking back the tears.

" Iris it wasn't. You were eager to learn, but he tricked you. You went after Austin, you begged them but they didn't listen. It's their fault he's dead not yours. You have been trying everything to get him back. So don't blame your self." Cole said firmly holding my hand as I stared at him.

I noticed the slight change in colour of his eyes whenever he shifted towards the light. His crystal blue eyes would look light grey. His skin felt so soft and smooth on mine.

I liked him. I always have. He was the one person that understood me. But he had a mate that wasn't me.

***

Cole's POV.

We stared at each other for while and my eyes went to her lips. Her beautiful pink bow shaped lips. She had a small scar on her upper lip that I never noticed before.

" Stop that." I said huskily.

" What?"

" Stop biting your lip. It's distracting."

" Oh, sorry." She said quietly.

Her eyes were puffed and red but she still looked beautiful. She always looks beautiful to me.

She licked her lips this time and I let out a low growl.

" Stop or I won't be held responsible for my next actions."

" What?" She asked biting the edge of her lips.

" Oh what the hell!" I exclaimed as I put my lips on hers.
