Submitting To My Ex-Wife by Veromca Luke (Sigmund Moolery )

Chapter 12

Chapter 12

The following day, Becky slowly woke up in bed.

The sun outside had already risen at that moment. Looking at the clock on the wall pointing to after eight o’clock, Becky was a little surprised.

Since she found out she was pregnant, she had been feeling sleepy all the time, whether it was morning or night.

Last night she didn’t feel Sigmund beside her, which was satisfying. At least she didn’t have to smell those nauseating odors while pregnant.

Subconsciously, Becky stretched and reached for her phone, which she had placed on the bedside table before sleeping. However, she couldn’t find it anywhere.

She frowned slightly and finally looked up at the bedside table.

“What? My phone was clearly placed over there, but it disappeared without a trace,” she wondered. Right when Becky started to feel weird, she noticed something familiar on the ground.

“When did my phone fall on the ground?”

Becky muttered in confusion, then stood up and walked to the bathroom.

After washing up, she went downstairs for breakfast. Mr. Brigham Moolery always favored Becky, even though she had been a bit lazy these past few days.

As soon as he saw Becky coming down from upstairs, Brigham immediately made the servant heat up breakfast.

“Hey Becky, good morning.”

Brigham had a smile on his face, although he didn’t know if Sigmund had come home last night or

not.

“Morning, Grandpa. Have you eaten yet?”

Becky was worried that Brigham was waiting for her, and the expression on her face also became. somewhat unnatural

Although she didn’t love Sigmund as before, at least Brigham treated her sincerely as his own family.

She didn’t know how to start talking about her divorce from Sigmund.

“I already ate. Come and have some quickly. Otherwise, your empty stomach will feel uncomfortable,” said Brigham.

Becky sat in front of the dining table, looking at the sumptuous breakfast before her. For some reason, she had no appetite at the moment.

Brigham noticed that Becky seemed uninterested, which he found strange because these were usually her favorite foods. Why was she acting this way today?

“What’s wrong, Becky? Don’t you like these things? Should I have them change it for you now? What do you want to eat…”

Becky quickly interrupted Brigham’s words.

“No Grandpa. I’m just not very hungry. I’ll just have some porridge.”

Brigham nodded with skepticism, watching Becky finish the small bowl of porridge in front of her before remembering what he wanted to say.

“Becky, here’s the thing.”

Brigham’s solemn voice piqued Becky’s curiosity, causing her to set down the napkin she was using to wipe her mouth and calmly look at him.

“There is a charity gala tonight. Why don’t you go with Sigmund? It’s a good opportunity to get to know some people in the industry.”

Originally, Becky instinctively wanted to refuse. She didn’t like that kind of event and didn’t like being with Sigmund even more now.

But she couldn’t refuse

For one thing, Brigham still didn’t know about their divorce. For another, she did want to go out and meet more people and experience more things.

After considering for quite some time, Becky nodded at Brigham.

“I see, Grandpa.”

After speaking, Becky went upstairs without lingering.

Sigmund also got the message from Brigham. After hanging up the phone, he sat in his office.  Sᴇaʀ*ᴄh the Find ɴøᴠel.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

He immediately recalled what happened last night. As soon as he thought about Becky and Daley’s interaction, his face turned unpleasant.

As soon as Marsh entered the door, he saw the scene where his boss was looking coldly outside the floor–to–ceiling window.

The suit was casually thrown on the chair. Perhaps out of irritation, even two shirt buttons were unbuttoned, revealing his collarbone.

“Mr. Moolery, your grandpa asked me to tell you to send the dress to Mrs. Becky Moolery and make sure to go together to the charity gala with her tonight.”

After speaking. Marsh felt that Sigmund’s gaze was on him, and for a moment, he felt a bit cold, wondering what was going on.

“Got it. You can leave.”

After holding back for a while, Sigmund only asked Marsh to leave.

When Becky arrived at work, it was precisely 8:30 am. She changed into suitable clothes before leaving home without putting on any makeup, but now her complexion looked good..

The white and rosy checks were elegant and refined like camellias touched by morning dew.

When she arrived at the company, Becky didn’t notice that Sigmund, beside the CEO’s exclusive elevator in the corner, hadn’t gone up yet with a cup of coffee in his hand.

He was staring at Becky with intense eyes.

It was unknown whether Becky didn’t notice him or if she purposely ignored him. She stepped into the elevator.

Sigmund’s face darkened slightly, and he also stepped into the elevator.

Arriving at the office, he looked at the dress and hesitated to make a move.

Marsh murmured silently, “Did he go all the way down just for a cup of coffee?

“When did Mr. Moolery become so idle

Becky didn’t have any contact with Sigmund until the end of the day.

After all, she was in the design department, and Sigmund was in the top–floor office. If she didn’t. make an effort to see him, she probably wouldn’t see him again during her two–month internship.

As soon as it was time to clock out, Becky grabbed her stuff and headed straight out.

Salena’s car was parked outside the company. When she saw Becky walking over, she quickly. lowered her car window and waved.

“I already got your clothes ready for you. They’re in the back seat. Don’t worry about my taste. Just put it on when we arrive.”

Salena handed Becky a cup of warm cocoa and nodded toward the backseat.

She was thinking at first whether it was worth the trouble. After all, even though Sigmund had no feelings for Becky, he would at least prepare a dress for her.

When she saw Becky, she realized that she had foresight.

“Just be honest with me. What’s going on between you two?”

After a moment of silence, Salena couldn’t help but ice her doubts.

Upon hearing it, Becky paused her sipping of the hot cocoa and then grinned at Salena.

“What else can we do? As you can see, we’ve already divorced.”

While she talked, she even shrugged her shoulders. To Salena, Becky seemed to be talking about someone else’s business, with a feeling of not being personally involved.

After she heard Becky’s words, Salena’s first reaction was cheering inwardly, “Becky is finally hopeful!

“She finally climbed out of that aby and was no longer the silly girl.”

But then came the groundless worries.

It was natural to feel fortunate for Becky, and it was also natural to worry about her.

Everyone in the chat group knew what was going on. So many people were waiting to see Becky’s joke. If she really told everyone that she was divorced, who knew what kind of backlash Becky would face?

Looking at her tightly pursed lips, Becky knew what was on Salena’s mind.

She curled her lips and laughed. “Miss Salena, you aren’t worried about me, are you?”

Salena did not conceal it and nodded directly.

She rolled her eyes while talking.

“So many mad dogs are waiting to criticize you and make fun of you. How can I not worry?”
