Chapter 8
Events that began to occur in Mia’s life required time to digest. Max suddenly appeared. Surprisingly, finding friends among students did not interest her at all, she quickly saw insincerity and contrived gaiety in people.
She saw Max only once, but his face was appearing before her eyes as soon as she thought about him. Smart eyes, good manners, he knew how to behave. Perhaps age made him more balanced and significant. By the way, for how much is he older than her? However, it doesn’t matter, she was too bored with her peers who were too frivolous and thinking only about parties and what to spend the scholarship on.
No, Mia will not allow herself to be taken into relationships that have no future. She firmly decided that she would not have any serious relationship until after graduation. She will not let anyone to disrupt her plans.
But five minutes later her phone rang unexpectedly.
Mia did not answer for some time. She was about to finally decline the call when she heard Max’s voice:
“I’m sorry to keep you waiting, Princess.”
“Waiting?” there was a genuine surprise in her voice.
“Let’s meet tomorrow and take a walk around the spring city.” he suggested.
“What will we talk about? I already said everything”
“I absolutely did not understand anything. Let’s meet tomorrow? When will you be free?
She wanted to quickly end this ridiculous conversation, but instead she said:
“Okay, I’ll finish at three”
“That’s good. Good night, Princess”, he said. For some time, he was sitting with the phone in his hand, not believing his luck. It doesn’t matter at all what Mia said, only one thing was important for him - he had an excuse to see her again.
“He is so persistent,” Mia thought. But since she wanted to get away from the routine and boring studies, as well as, of course, repair the laptop, she, nevertheless, agreed to meet with him.
... The second time, Max and Mia met in the city center. Max again looked at Mia with his puppy blue eyes, and Mia blushed.
Today they were walking along the Big City paved sidewalk, listening to the singing of spring birds and eating ice cream.
Because of the spring sun, not only the ice cream was melting, but also the Mia’s heart.
“Let’s have some coffee? I invite you”, Max suggested.
“Sounds nice,” Mia agreed.
They went into a nearby coffee shop, diffusing an odor of fresh brewed coffee and croissants.
A miniature Asian waitress came up to their table with a smile and a simple question on her lips:
“What will you order?”
“One Latte Macchiato,” Mia answered.
“Latte Macchiato as well, please,” Max ordered as well.
“Okay, two Latte Macchiato” The waitress repeated their orders respectfully and went to the kitchen. Suddenly a group of tourists appeared, racing in different directions, temped by the sights in this Big City ...
And then, the waitress brought their orders with hearts on the foam surface.
“This is a sign,” said Max.
Mia just smiled back.
“To us!” Max said looking straight into Mia’s eyes
“To us,” Mia repeated, blushing again.
The spring sun shone directly in the eyes and the birds continued to sing, accompanying the Max and Mia’s meeting...
