Chapter Thirty-Nine
Lucian
My blood runs cold at her statement.
I have no plans on denying her revenge, but I feel as if she has put her body under too much stress already.
If I say yes she could be putting herself in danger. If I say no she will surely lash out at me and call me out for breaking my promise.
“Bella.” I coo, as I grab her hand and pull her body into mine.
“The only answer that I am looking for is yes.” She said before burying her face into my chest.
I let out a small chuckle. Her words are aggressive, but her body language is affectionate.
I grip onto her hair with one hand and tighten my hold around her waist. “The answer you should be expecting is the one where you remain safe.”
Her body vibrates as she lets out a small growl. I feel her teeth pierce my chest through my shirt, and I let out a groan at the pleasurable pain. She has probably bitten me more than any she-wolf has bitten their mate. I chuckle at my thoughts.
“I’m going to leave you to your argument.” Archer said before nodding at me and leaving.
Arabella looks up at me, the mischievous glint in her eyes tells me that she isn’t going down without a fight.
Just as a smirk slides on her face it feels as if the floor has opened up and we begin falling.
I squeeze my little spitfire’s body closer to mine to make sure she is safe, even though I know that she is the cause of this. Her magic is getting stronger by the day. The first time she did this spell I had a dull headache, this time so feel nothing.
My vision has yet to return to me even after I feel the floor under my feet again. “Arabella.” I command out her name.
She giggles before pulling away from my embrace. “You don’t trust me mate?” She asks playfully.
I feel my body tense at her words as she slowly guides my body.
She laughs before pushing me. My back lands on our mattress and I feel her slowly climb my body.
“You will not be able to seduce the answer you want out of me.” I inform her.
“Hmm. Can’t I?” She asks before her hand brushes against the front of my pants. I gasp as I harden beneath her hand. “I think that you should just let me have my way. You promised.”
My sight being taken only amplifies the sensations that come with her touch. She knows that.
She presses a small kiss on my jaw. “I think that I know what I can do to help you.” She states before nipping at the skin.
She forgets that I’ve been inside her mind, and know what she is capable of. “I know that you can, but after everything that has happened I am worried. I don’t want to see you hurt in any way.” Physically or emotionally.
I’ve seen a few of her memories these past few days. Her mother and the rest of her coven always went out of their way to crush her spirit whenever they deemed necessary. From what I am seen, I am surprised that they didn’t attempt to kill her.
“How can I get hurt if you’re there to protect me?” She asks before placing her lips on mine.
I immediately react to her kiss. I grasp her hips and hold her in place while her hands play with my hair gently. The kiss is gentle, tender. She pulls away. “Lucian please.” She pleads with me.
I feel my resolve slowly fading
“Arabella.” I groan.
Suddenly my vision clears and I have the perfect view of my mate.
She smiles down at me. “Lucian. You know what this means to me.” She caresses my face. “You know that I need this for closure. Then you and I can start a life together. Not just within these four walls.”
I close my eyes and take a deep breath. My imagination running rampant. Arabella pregnant with our pups. A small, beautiful girl who looks just like her learning magic. I’m sure Arabella will be her main teacher, but I will be able to teach her spells as well. Everything would be perfect. A life with my mate.
She places a small kiss on my ear. “Please.” She whimpers.
My chest rumbles before I answer. “Fine.” I say begrudgingly.
She smiles, she practically glows as she revels over this victory over me.
I place my hand on her back before crushing her body to mine. “Do not push yourself past your limit. I have seen what she is capable of.” I warn her.
She nods. “Don’t worry. I promise that I will be fine.” Her arms wrap around my neck. “Plus I have you to boss me around. You’ll keep me in check.” She whispers.
After embracing for a few more moments we both stand from the bed. “Don’t get used to winning about situations when you’re in danger.” I warn her.
She nods, but the smirk on her face lets me know that this will not be the last time.
She grasps my hand and performs the same spell again.
I feel the floor exit from my feet and my entire body feels like it’s dropping. This time I don’t panic, I hold onto my mates hand and trust her.
“What the hell!” Archer steps back as he appear in front of him.
Arabella smirks at him. “You’ve seen magic before keep up.” She says before walking past him into the interrogation room where her mother is being held.
“I waited here because I knew you would bend to her will. I just didn’t expect it to be so soon.” He shakes his head with a chuckle. “Especially after I fanned the flames.”
I laugh along with him and pat his shoulder. “You don’t have to worry about that. She is already plotting against you as we speak.”
We laugh as we walk in the room.
The witch looks up at Arabella, and hope flashes in her eyes.
It is quickly snuffed out as I place a small kiss on my mate’s cheek.
Arabella laughs as her mothers eyes fill with tears. “Did you actually think that I was here to save you?” She asks. She flicks her wrist and the witch is being forced to hold her head up to look at her. “After everything that you have ever done?”
The witch stays silent, but a few tears fall from her eyes.
Arabella turns her hand just a little bit, and sweat starts to form on the witch’s body immediately. She bites her lips before crying out.
I hear the door open and turn to see Judah, Ravian, Atticus and Cole step into the room.
“What the hell is she doing? I tortured her with all kinds of methods and she barely broke a sweat.” Atticus commented.
Arabella turned to him before smiling. She withdrew her hand and her mother’s body slumped to the floor. “Just a simple blood boiling spell. I made sure that I had it perfected just for her.”
He nods. “It seems we might need you for any other interrogation that we have. I brought in other witches but-“
“They are nothing compared to me.” Arabella finishes the sentence for him.
Her jealousy over me asking other witches for help still hasn’t healed all the way. I chuckle before scratching the back of my neck.
“Tell them your plan.” I tell her.
She nods before turning to Judah. “Get Valentina to do a locator spell. Your wolves are going on a witch hunt.” She commands. She grabs a chunk of her mothers hair and rips it out. Her mothers screeches were loud enough to make every wolf in the room cringe. “Give this to Valentina. Since all of the witches are connected she will be able to find them.” She said while holding up the hair in Judah’s direction.
“You want me to send me warriors on a death mission?” He asks her.
“No.” She said before turning away from him.
She looks at her mother who’s silently weeping. “Before your warriors get there I am going to strip all of them of their magic.” She pulls out an obsidian stone from her pocket. “This will hold all of their magic.” The stone lays flat in her hand. “I think it would make the perfect gift for my lovely mate.” She whispers before placing it in her pocket. “Before I take away her magic I need your warriors ready to abduct every single witch apart of the coven. I have some scores that need to be settled.”
Judah nods before taking the hair out of my mates hands.
Archer, Ravian and I are the only ones who stayed behind, everyone else cleared the room shortly after Judah.
Arabella smirks before she claps her hands a single time. “Now I am eager to see what you have planned.” She said before pulling me down to her height. “Torture her.” She whispers before placing a light kiss on my cheek.
“Your thirst for blood is terrifying.” Ravian comments with a small laugh.
“Only directed towards those who have earned it.” She responds and looks over at her mother.
She stays silent, but I can see the pleading in her eyes. She should already know that the daughter that would have once done anything for her approval is now the one who will kill her.
“Lucian.” She requests before stepping away.
“The wolves are ten miles away.” Archer informs us.
Arabella stands from her chair. “I guess that it means it’s time to start the spell.”
Even though the witch is barely conscious, Arabella’s words were enough to bring a reaction out of her.
“No, Bella! Please.” She pleads with her. All of the alphas in the room
glance at one another, this is the first time any of us heard her speak.
“Don’t call me that!” Arabella sneers before slamming her hand across her mothers cheek. “After everything you have done you have no right. You have been nothing but a hypocrite, but I want to know why. What would be enough to compromise your morals and have you do what I got thrown out of the coven for doing?” She asks.
She grasps onto her mothers face before gasping.
The witch doesn’t fight as Arabella invades her mind.
I close my eyes as Arabella opens up what she is seeing to me.
Flames surround us all. A shadow walks out of the flames. A shadow I know well, my brother.
The vision is ripped away as Arabella pulls back.
“So that’s why you did all of this? You want revenge?” She asks before she tilts her head back and laughs. “Unfortunately that’s something that you will never be able to have.”
She holds out the obsidian stone before grabbing onto the witch’s arm.
She screams as the magic unwillingly leaves her body slowly. I know that the pain she is in is agonizing.
We can all feel the power slowly shifting from the witch, to Arabella, before permanently staying in the stone.
I keep my eyes on my mate the entire time. Making sure she isn’t pushing herself too far. The last thing that I need is another fire breaking out here where all the prisoners are held. The last two didn’t have any real consequences, but the second seemed worst than the first.
Arabella lets go of the witch’s arm as she falls limp onto the floor. My Bella doesn’t pay her any mind as her thumb slowly rubs over the stone. “I always knew that obsidian could hold magic, but this is an exorbitant amount.” She continues to observe the stone for a few moments before looking down at the witch.
A small smile graces her face. “I guess you don’t need the rope anymore do you?” She asks before snapping her fingers.
The rope immediately unties itself from the witch’s wrist and falls slowly onto the floor.
Arabella crouches down in front of her mothers limp body. “I was considering letting you live. I learned that I was no better than any being just because I am different from them. I thought that maybe you could learn that as well.” She brushes her hand through her hair.
“I. I can learn.” She stutters, her voice hoarse.
Arabella laughs as she grabs her mother by her hair, forcing her to look up. “Do you see that handsome man in the gray top?” She asks. “That’s my mate, and he is the most important person to me.”
My chest swells with pride as her mother’s pleading goes unnoticed.
“The man next to him? His brother. My family.” She says sternly.
“I should have known that you would end up with wolves. They are the scum of the earth just like you.”
Arabella laughs as she tosses her mother aside.
“Here, this matches your eyes.” She says before handing me the stone. “With this you will be the most powerful warlock on this planet. Not stronger than me, but you still could be a worthy adversary.” She says with a wink before turning back to her mother.
“I am going to kill you, but first I am going to make you watch as I kill Samara.”
The witch continues to whimper on the ground.
She turns to me. “The warriors are going to be back with at least seventy witches who can no longer perform magic. Before you set them all free there are a few that I want to get my hands on.” She turns to her mother. “They won’t be leaving this place alive.”
“Have you had your fill on torturing witches Bella?” I ask her.
She turns to me before narrowing her eyes.
I sigh. “Please don’t be angry with me.” I plead.
“You said that you would have my back!” She yells.
I walk over to her and wrap my arms around her. “I do have your back, always.” I press a kiss to her forehead. “But how would you feel if you saw someone trying to kill me?”
She sighs. “I would kill them.”
“Alpha Wren deserves to have his mate.”
“Even though she is literally a part of the coven who nearly killed him?” She asks, her anger returning.
“Are you forgetting how we met my little spitfire?”
Her cheeks flush before burying her face in my chest.
“Come now, I want to take you to my pack. Our people have been dying to meet you.”
She looks up at me a beautiful smile gracing her lips.
I never would have thought that she would ever be willing when it came to being with me. Accepting my pack.
Yet, these past couple of weeks I have been able to wear her down. Show her that I want her for her.
“When do you want to do the Luna acceptance ceremony?” I ask her.
“Right away.” She responds.
I lead her out of the room that has been ours for these past weeks. I will hold all of the memories that we have shared here close to my heart.
“Are you sure that we can’t just use magic?” She asks.
I chuckle. “I want to spend just a little time with you and your friend before welcoming you both into the pack. Call me selfish.” I shrug.
She laughs as we walk out of the pack house.
“King Judah.” The both of us say before bowing slightly to him as we walk up to him.
“Marisol wanted to say goodbye, but she is still so tired.” Judah said.
Arabella nodded. “It will only be a few more days of her feeling like this. Then she will be perfect.” She reassures him.
“Valentina is already in the car and ready to go. I’ll walk with you.”
We both nod and follow his lead. Our fingers intertwine with one another as we walk.
“Just in case Marisol isn’t healed soon will you come back again?” He asks.
“Yes.” My Bella answers immediately. “I will be able to be here in under a minute. Just mind link Lucian and I will be here to help. No matter what. If anyone at all gets hurt and the healers can’t figure it out always have them call me. What’s the point in being the most powerful witch if I can’t help those in need?” She asks.
I smile at her statement. I lift her hand to my lips and press a small kiss on her knuckles. “Don’t forget if you need someone to interrogate, call my little spitfire.”
We all laugh at my words and soon the car comes within view.
Judah thanks us before Arabella and I get inside the vehicle.
“Thanks for making me sit here for like thirty-minutes!” Valentina complains.
Arabella turns to her friend with a smile as I start the car. “Get over it.” She quickly sits back in her seat and starts laughing.
I join in on the laughter as Valentina begins to kick both of our seats.
“Valentina.” Arabella says before turning to face her friend in the seat. She reaches out and grasps her hand. “No more running, no more hiding. No more evil schemes.”
Valentina nodded before placing her free hand on top of Arabella’s. “As long as you’re happy.” She chokes out.
“I’m really really happy.” Arabella confirms while nodding her head. “You’ll be happy too. I promise. We’re going home.”
Home.
I’m taking my feisty mate and her friend home.
