Spell Bound

Chapter One

Arabella

Arabella pulled her hood from over her head as she walked through the abandoned library. She tried her best to keep her footsteps light just incase she is not the only person there.

Every now and then she feels like there is someone watching her. She has never been able to confirm or deny if her suspicions are correct so she tries her best to stay ready for anything.

It has taken her far too long to find this place, left abandoned by those who once followed a pair of brothers who taught them blood magic. Many people thought this place was just lore. A tale to tell your young children in order to make them eat their vegetables.

Arabella knew better. Her grandmother, Nalani used to tell her stories about the ancient library, it was her dream to visit this place. To learn from the siphon coven. She wanted to learn all of the different things that helped them feel like normal witches. Things that you are able to siphon magic from.

She only wished that her grandmother was here with her to see it all in person. The way her grandmother would describe it to her was completely accurate.

The walls were black with gold accents, while the floor held illustrations that showed exactly how the brothers were able to show the coven of siphon witch's how to perform Siphon magic.

She smiled as she thought back on the story that her grandmother would tell her. The coven of Siphon witch's originally rejected the brother's teachings. All but one who was taken by the oldest twin. He brought her some Unicorn blood for her to try, and when she did the coven was able to see that the brothers were telling the truth. They immediately made the brothers leaders of the coven and began to follow their teachings.

Arabella walked throughout the small library, observing all the books, dark objects, enchanted items, magical devices and dried up herbs.

She smiled when she first walked in and noticed that the entire library was covered in dust. It showed her that nobody else has been here in at least a few decades, that she will be the only person walking the planet with this knowledge. She knew that her ex-coven began looking for this place as soon as they learned that she was looking for it. They both wanted to use the knowledge held within this place to permanently end one another. Arabella just happened to find it first.

All of the things that are here would be useful to her, and she planned on taking them, but first she needed to find what she originally came here for.

A book that was written by one of her ancestors. A book that she has heard so much about. It truly would show her the power that is within blood magic, but also teaches how to prevent a person from succumbing to blood lust.

Arabella's grandmother would rave about the knowledge that was in that specific book. Everything that a witch would want to know about blood magic is stored within that book. Nalani would constantly talk about the book and how it held all the answers that anyone would ever have blood magic.

She continued to skim the shelves of the library until she spotted the book that she was looking for, a white hardback book with a silver trim.

She tapped the spine of the book with her pointer finger before picking it up.

She cracked open the book and began to walk towards the table that was near the shelves. She waved her hand across the table and the dust immediately flew away from the seats and the table.

She dropped her black backpack onto the floor as she sat down slowly. She skimmed most of the pages until she got to what she was looking for.

When she found it she couldn't help but voice her excitement outloud before reading the words on the page.

The stronger presence of magic in the being, the stronger you will become when you take their blood.

For example the blood of a coven leader, a werewolf or a vampire.

Underneath that is a story of how this coven of siphon witches overcame a basilisk. After drinking the basilisk's blood they used their magic to take revenge on a human village. These humans burned and drowned a handful of their brothers and sisters in fear of them practicing magic for evil.

That is exactly what she needs blood magic for, revenge.

Arabella sat at the table and thought about what she just read, a being with a high amount of magic within them. The first example the leader of a coven of witches.

Attempting to extract blood from any witch from a coven would be a death wish. Before I would be able to do anything the coven would kill me, and no coven leader will be out and about by themselves.

She frowned at her thought, she was going to need powerful blood magic in order to exterminate her ex-coven.

A coven leader, a witch or a vampire.

A sly grin spread across her face.

She knew exactly what she was going to do.

She quickly got out of her seat and grabbed her backpack.

She walked back to the front of the library to collect a few of the dark objects.

She carefully picked out which dark objects she would choose, knowing that she doesn't have enough room for them all.

She looked at all of the things that were laid out in front of her, but she only picked the ones that called out to her.

An obsidian stone.

A gold dagger.

A bronze bracelet.

A knife.

An orb.

She carefully placed all of these items in her backpack along with the book that she has found.

She picked up her backpack and placed it on her it over her shoulder.

She began walking until she noticed something in the corner of her eye.

She froze and then slowly started to turn her head towards it, scared that this might just be her imagination.

The moonstone.

If only Arabella's grandmother could see her now, having the moonstone in her possession would guarantee her victory over her coven, and that she will have a piece of them forever.

A grin spread wide across her face as she picked it up off of the floor.

There is more time to celebrate this victory, but first I need to make it to the pack lands. There is an Alpha who I need to make myself acquainted with.

Lucian

"How will you guarantee her accepting you as her mate?"

Lucian pondered over Alpha Archer's question for a bit.

After witnessing firsthand what happened at the coronation he has been on edge.

His mate accepting him is vital for a lot of the wolves within the pack lands survival. He sees now that he needs more than just her love, he will need for her to love him enough to help his kind against hers.

"I will have to give in to what she wants, revenge. I will help her obtain it, and hopefully in return she will want to help us."

That and Lucian had another plan up his sleeve that he won't reveal to Archer. He knows that his friend won't approve, but it is the only way to guarantee that his mate will truly be stuck with him.

If it was not for the mate bond that would form between him and his mate he would not have believed the statement that had just come out of his mouth.

The vision that Marisol showed him that she was determined, impulsive and head strong. So the belief that she was no doubt taught as a child of wolves being inferior and should be looked down upon would be hard to get past.

Nevertheless, he would find a way to have Arabella see the light, that they belong together. With Lucian has in mind she won't have a choice but to give him a chance.

"It will be hard. Witches are taught from a young age that vampires and wolves are beneath them and should not even exist." Archer stated solemnly

If anyone would know about witches despising wolves, it would be Alpha Archer. He has suffered too much over the fact that a lot of witch's feel superior to wolves.

Lucian nodded. He was well aware that the task of making his mate love him was nearly impossible, but he was going to try. All for the slight chance that his mate will love him.

"I am aware that it will be difficult, but I would not have it any other way." Lucian smiled as he thought about the visions that Marisol had shown him. "She is the perfect mate for me, the perfect luna. We will balance each other perfectly. You will see."
