Chapter Nine
Lucian
I try to fight the smirk that is forming on my face, but it is close to impossible. My beautiful mate has my mark on her neck.
Was it wrong to trick my mate into letting me mark her? Absolutely, but I had no other choice. A choice that I do not doubt that she will raise hell for later.
I am aware that the second that she received what she wanted from me she would go and bring her ex-coven to their knees and then proceed to go into hiding. Her fear of my retaliation would prevent me from ever finding her.
The only retribution that I see from her is her acceptance of me as her mate. I want her to accept and love me, nothing more.
We both said nothing to one another as she glared at me.
The way she moaned out loud as her body pressed against mine was euphoric. I didn’t want her to let go of me at all. If it wasn’t for these damn chains we would still be in that position. I wouldn’t let her leave.
I am sure that if I kept my teeth in her flesh she would not have moved. The only reason that I had is because I was concerned about my venom entering her blood stream. Even though we are made for one another I don’t know what kind of reaction her body would have to my venom in her blood stream. Her safety comes before my wants.
“I shouldn’t have to do anything else. I can already feel your magic running through my veins. I will be on my way mutt. Maybe I will come back and let you out of the chains when I am done with the coven.” She said before rolling her eyes and turning her back to me.
Her cockiness did not surprise me at all. I could feel the power rolling off of her in waves, desperate to be used. What she did not realize is that I felt her magic flowing through my veins as well.
“That is only temporary, there is a way however to make it permanent.” I inform her.
She freezes. Even though her back is toward me I see her bravado start to slowly melt away. She turns back to me, her hands shaking slightly. “This is temporary? Have you done this before?” Her eyes narrow.
Jealousy. She may not be aware of it, but I can see it. Her body is tense. Her hands balled into fist, shaking slightly. While the glares and dirty looks she has given me before have nothing on the glare that she is giving me in the moment. She looks like she is ready to attack if I give her an answer she does not like.
“Answer me now wolf!” She demands as she raises her voice.
“Would it upset you if I have?” I ask calmly.
She huffs before she stomps over to the table that the knife is sitting on.
Her and this damn knife.
“I have not done this with anyone else, and I will never do this again.” I state right as her fingers brush up against the knife.
Even though my words calmed her, I can tell that she was still angry. Her body was tense as her hands slightly shook as she puled away from the knife. I’ve learned that those things happen when she is attempting to hold back her rage. She usually fails.
“Then how do you know that it isn’t permanent?” She asks, her voice being reduced to a whisper.
“Because my bite mark will fade over time. The more you siphon from it the faster it will fade, but there is a way to make it permanent.” I break our eye contact to look down at my mark on my shoulder, the bite mark sits perfectly on her skin.
She doesn’t respond, keeping her eyes focused on me. Waiting for me to admit that I’m lying. Which I am. I have to. In order for her and I to be bound together for life I need her to willingly do what I’m about to tell her. I will beg for her forgiveness later, I will let her wreak havoc on my life as her revenge. This needs to happen now, while my mark is still fresh.
“You will drink my blood as you intended, and then spread just a little bit of it on top of the bite. That will make it permanent.” I say. Another lie, this will be the last time. I first just need to make her permanently bound to me for life.
“You want me to drink your blood? Absolutely not.” She stated before stomping her foot down for emphasis. “Your blood is coming no where near me.”
“I know that you are concerned about your life, but I would never risk it. I wouldn’t do anything that would put you within harms way.”
Her jaw clenched, and she rolled her shoulders back. “I don’t know why you take me for a fool, but I would never believe anything coming out of the mouth of a savage.”
“Yet, you believed me when you took my bite. You took a chance and it paid off, you have all the power that you need at your fingertips. Now you just need to take another chance to make it permanent.” I didn’t expect getting through to her would be this difficult. It seems her impulsive behaviors do have some sort of limit.
“Again if you try anything at all Valentina will come after you.” She warns.
I hold in my urge to laugh. Another threat against me saying that her friend will avenge her. Her friend could barely stand in the same room as me. I fight the urge to ask how exactly the witch as scared as a mouse would take action against me.
“Yes, I know she will. I am glad that you have someone that will take revenge for you on your behalf.”
She bites her lip, before turning and walking towards the kitchen. She pulled another cup out of the cabinet before walking towards the table and picking up the knife.
“Do you know how much I am supposed to drink?” She asked as she she slowly made her way towards me.
I smirked at her. “As much as your heart’s content. I have plenty.”
She rolled her eyes at me. “I don’t know what you think you are doing, but you need to end it now. I still hold your life in my hands.”
She glared at me before raising the knife up and slashing down my arm, slicing through the brachial artery.
I don’t give her the response she was looking for. I don’t respond at all to her little tantrum.
She huffs as she watches the wound heal. “You wolves disgust me.” She states before placing the knife against my arm pushing it into my skin just enough to get a steady flow of blood to pour out.
She holds the cup up and fills it until it is halfway full.
She steps away from me to put the knife down before stepping within my personal space once again.
She kept her eyes on me as she began to twirl her pointer finger inside the cup, barely touching the blood. I was aware of what she was doing, trying to see if taking it would kill her.
I feel my wolf fight for control once she dipped her finger into the liquid. Wanting to just throw the entire plan away and have her drink my blood until she is drunk.
She pulls her finger out of the cup before observing it closely. She cuts her eyes to me before placing her finger in her mouth. Finally having my blood enter her bloodstream, which will have her permanently bound to me. There is no magic that she will be able to do to change it.
She reaches that same finger in the cup, gathering my blood on it before smothering it on the mark on her neck.
They way her body shivered under her touch let me know that my blood entered the mark before it completely healed.
I continue to feign indifference on the outside, but on the inside I was ecstatic. There is nothing that anyone, including her can do about us.
She stares at the cup of my blood, and I see a look of longing cross her face before she places it down.
I only wish that she would have drank the entire cup of blood. Her getting drunk off of my blood would have made my plan of abducting her easier.
The smirk soon returns to her face, along with her cocky attitude. “Well thank you for your assistance alpha. Now that I have what I need I will destroy my ex-coven. You will stay down here until I do. Pray to your moon goddess that it doesn’t take too long, I would hate to have to pay these humans more money to pretend that there isn’t a smelly corpse down here.”
She turns around to gather her things. “Do you have no response? Well since you were so kind I’ll have Valentina feed you every three days is that good? I’m sure someone as uncivilized as yourself has probably gone longer without eating.” She begins to laugh at her statement and starts to walk towards the door.
I wait until her fingers touches the door handle before I speak up. “Aren’t you at least going to return the favor? I want to know what your blood tastes like Arabella.”
She freezes, Even though I can only see her side profile I can see the shock on her face. Melting away her cocky attitude. When the shock wears off she yanks the door open, swiftly exits the room and slams the door shut without giving me a second glance.
