Chapter sorry 52
Chapter 82. Behave
Noah POV
Tcould not explain the sudden sadness that attacked me right that moment.
1 rue the years lost. If only I had taken the time to search for Briana after I got back from my treatment abroad. I have not lost so much time.
I sighed and stopped outside my car.
“We can’t fit into your car,” Briana announced when she saw what I brought.
I stopped and realized that my car was not even child–friendly.
I mentally knocked my head. In my excitement, it slipped past my notice that my car would be too small to accommodate them.
I looked shyly at Briana and rubbed the back of my head in stupefaction.
Then, I realized I do not own a vehicle large enough to accommodate my family. I made a mental note to myself to buy one.
“Should I ask my office for a van?” I asked Briana, utterly clueless.
The hotel reserves a van for guests to use for sightseeing. It also comes with a driver and a guide to popular destinations.
Briana shook her head.
“No need. We can use my van.” She offered.
And so, we went to where the sald van was parked.
It boggled me to learn that we need many straps to keep a child safe in riding a car.
I saw Briana strapped them to what looked like small seats. “They are booster seats.” She told me.
I watched in awe as she deftly handled it single–handedly.
Once, I tried to help but could not figure out which goes where. And so, I gave up while Briana was laughing at my idiocy.

The children joined her. They all giggled at me, and the sound was the most beautiful theard in a long time.
“You look silly, baddie daddy” Mason pointed out.
A quick look in the mirror told me I had this goofy look on my face while my children were laughing at me.
“Silly daddy!” Brixx seconded.
Riley, my firstborn son, was also giggling, but when he saw that I was looking, he quickly composed his face, and the smile was gone.
It dampened my mood somewhat, but at least, there’s an improvement.
It’s just a day.
1 was hoping Riley would change his attitude toward me after getting to know me.
I brought them to a theme park. It was the most popular destination for families in the area. Chris, my assistant, searched for it on the net.
“There were good reviews about it. 4.9 out of 5–star rating.” He told me through a chat box, along with the exact address.
I input the address to a driving app to guide me with the directions as I maneuver the car in the morning weekend traffic. It was what I was following.
While driving, I watched the kids banter with each other. They were also singing a nursery rhyme.
“Who told you that?” I asked for want of something to say.
“School.” They all chorus and sing once more.
It had a catchy tune, and in time, I was already bobbing my head to the music.
I looked at Briana, and she was looking out the window. From time to time, she would check on the children and would ask them how they were.
Sometimes, I hear her join them in singing.
When we stopped at a red light, I turned my head in her direction to study her. I wanted to feast my eyes on her face because today is the only time I will get to do that.
#20 BONUS
We reached our destination, and I parked our car. This time, I was able to help Briana unstrapped the children.
But making four energetic boys stay unmoving to the side while waiting for us to get ready was a bit tricky. They were all raring to go in when they saw the theme park banner outside.
Riley almost ran away, but I quickly pulled the collar of his shirt. He struggled and looked at me menacingly, but I didn’t care.
His safety matters significantly more than becoming his “good guy” right now.
“Riley! Stay back, or you’ll get lost with these many people around.” Briane’s warning tone had him standing straight without any struggling.
I looked gratefully at Briana.
It takes a lot of effort to keep the triplets in tow, but she was doing it magnificently.
I was literally hands down.
“They can be overzealous at times.” She explained.
I nodded.
In truth, I don’t care. My children can be bothersome, rambunctious, and naughty. I will love them anyway.
I looked at them looking docile while Briana gave them warning looks, and I found that I would love to be disciplined by their mother as well. I want Briana to look warningly at me to behave.
