Chapter 1252
Chapter 1252 The Clue
The person who created the formation must be quite sinister. They seemed to want to trap people in Quade's room, not allowing anyone to leave.
Alex insisted on going against what was expected, believing it might be the key to escape that situation. I wonder how Megan is doing now.
Since she went upstairs, he decided to go downstairs. Perhaps he might find a way out by some stroke of luck.
Having made up his mind, Alex glanced at the body hanging in the stairwell before descending the stairs. However, as he did so, the hanging bodies would brush against his shoulder, a situation that was unavoidable.
Every touch sent a chill down Alex's spine. In order to avoid contact with the corpses, Alex deliberately bent his waist while walking, but it was of no use.
No matter how much he bent, the feet of the corpses could still just so happen to brush against his shoulder.
Since there was no way to avoid the situation, Alex stopped trying to avoid the corpses and let them touch his body.
An ordinary person would have been driven mad by such torment, just like Megan, whose emotional state had basically collapsed.
Alex was only feeling a bit unaccustomed and was mostly fine. Eventually, he arrived on the first floor. He had no idea how many pairs of red eyes were watching him during the journey or how many toes brushed against his shoulder as he descended the stairs.
Upon seeing the door leading outside, Alex quickly walked over. Sadly, no matter what he did, the door just wouldn't open.
Alex tried countless methods, even attempting to use his Mortal Force to break it open, but to no avail. The door was even tougher than a metal wall.
Since he was within a grand formation, he had to find a way to break it. Brute force wouldn't be of any use.
After understanding that principle, Alex took a look at his surroundings. Apart from the staircase, there was nothing else. The place where the elevator used to be had turned into a wall.
Left with no choice, Alex glanced at the stairwell where the bodies were hanging. Despite not wanting to ascend the stairs, there was simply no other way but up for him.
The experience of going up was not
the same as coming down. When
descending, the tips of the corpsest
feet would brush against Alex's shoulders. When ascending, Alex would need to use his hands to move the feet of the corpses aside. Otherwise, they would hit his head.
Upon reaching the second floor, Alex wanted to see if the other rooms could be opened. He tried it, but they couldn't be opened, just like the main door downstairs.
He tried floor by floor before finally
reaching the ninth floor where Quade lived. It was no wonder that Megan was wandering around Quade's home as his door was the only one that could be opened!
Otherwise, there was nowhere else to go!
Pushing open the door to Quade's home, Alex still saw the same vast emptiness. If he were to enter it, he would still be trapped in the formation.
If he stayed outside, he had to face rows of his corpses, not to mention they would stare at him with their bloody eyes.
Choosing between the two wasn't
difficult. Those who could barely
u
tolerate the situation would choose to hide in Quade's house. It was precisely because of that Alex became more certain the corpses were the key to escape.
After closing the door, Alex found himself standing before a corpse. He had only just arrived when the corpse's red eyes began to stare directly at him.
Alex was somewhat unsettled by that peculiar gaze. Even when he tried not to look into those eyes, he knew they were watching him.
Then, he mustered the courage to search for clues on the corpses. After a while of fruitless searching, without a second thought, he removed the coat worn by the corpse.
Sure enough, when the coat was removed, Alex saw a yellow talisman stuck to the back of the corpse. He couldn't understand the symbols drawn on it, though.
