“Alex. I was just looking for you! I wasn’t expecting you to be out and about, but now, I can save myself the trouble of sending for
you,” Zack said sincerely, a lunch box in his hand.
After glancing at the lunch box, Alex immediately realized Zack must’ve brought food for him, which was such a thoughtful
gesture.
“Did you make this?” Alex asked.
Zack laughed and nodded excitedly. “I can work in the Grant family’s kitchen from today onward, Alex! 1 don’t have to be a
security guard anymore. They’ve put me in charge of peeling potatoes and washing vegetables, and even though I’m still not
allowed to cook, I’m confident of working my way up! Anyway, I’ve specially made this dinner for you. Please give it a try. You’ve
truly helped me a lot today, Alex. I don’t have any special skills or money, so all I can offer you are these useless items... I’m
sorry about that.”
Alex quickly gave the dejected-looking Zack a reassuring pat. “You’re an upstanding man, so stop being so wishy-washy. Man up
and be proud of yourself. Since you’ve prepared the food for me, bring it over so I can try it!”
Upon receiving and opening the lunch box, Alex was pleasantly surprised to find the most delectable- looking steak bites inside.
He might have tasted some of the best delicacies in the world, but even then, he couldn’t help but drool at the sight of the steak
bites.
Without further ado, he picked up a piece of meat and put it into his mouth. Wow! This dish is perfect. It has checked all the
boxes for taste, aroma, and appearance! Zack’s cooking skills are indeed impressive. This must be why he’s chubby, huh? The
food he makes is just too tasty.

Before long. Alex had wolved down the steak bites and spaghetti in the lunch box and promptly wip grease from his lips. “Your
cooking skills are truly amazing! It’s such a pity that you’re working here though. Say, why don’t you join me instead?”
If our family had a chef like Zack, even someone as disciplined as me wouldn’t escape the fate of gaining a few kilograms. Then
again, if he accepts my offer, Dad and Stanley would be in for a treat!
Naturally, Zack wasn’t expecting Alex to make such a request, so for a moment, he was dumbfounded. “Alex, did you just say it’s
a pity for me to stay here and that you want me to follow you?”
“That’s right! Are you willing to come with me and give up the opportunity of entering the secret world?” Alex asked curiously.
It was already quite a twist of fate for Alex and Zack to have met on a bus and dealt with Cory together. On top of that, Zack had
even gone the extra mile to prepare and deliver a delicious dinner. How could Alex not be moved by the man’s genuine
goodness and unpretentious demeanor?
If Zack is willing to give up on joining the secret world to follow me, I’ll definitely treat him well for the rest of his life. If he doesn’t,
I’ll stay out of his affairs once I’ve dealt with those from the secret world...
Upon hearing Alex’s words, Zack, too, felt somewhat hesitant. Oh, dear... I’ve only just met Alex today, and there’s so much I
don’t know about him. I could stay in the secret world and be content with working in the kitchen. It may be a menial job, but I’d
still have the honor of serving the deities. Plenty of people would wish they were in my shoes!
“Very well. I shall follow you, Alex! Please forgive my past ignorance and call me Zackie from now on,” Zack said firmly.
After all, Alex had saved his life, so what reason did he have to reject his savior’s offer?

Alex’s original plan had been to get rid of the remaining elders of Leight Sect later that night, but Zack was so enthusiastic that
the two of them started chatting over a carton of beer. Despite not having any finger food to go with the drinks, both men still
enjoyed themselves tremendously.
It didn’t matter that one of them was an extraordinarily talented genius worth hundreds of billions, while the other was a humble
countryman from an impoverished, rural village.
Their vastly different backgrounds made it all the more interesting as they talked and laughed the night away. Alex, especially,
was content with listening to Zack share his stories and experiences.
