Chapter Funny time
I called each one of them and asked to meet at the bar we always go to. At first, they threw some excuses but when I told them that Shawn would like to get to know them, they became more curious. I was
waiting for them to come not knowing what to talk about with Shawn.
After we got married, the distance in our relationship grew wider, I still don't know why was he cold and suddenly he acted this kind. He keeps confusing me with his mood change.
"Hey Lily, how are you doing?" Carla showed up from behind me as she started speaking.
"I am fine, where are the others?" I asked happy to see her.
"Diana is parking her car; they will come in a few minutes,"
"This is Shawn, Shawn this is..."
"Carla, I heard a lot about you from Lily. I am glad that I finally get to meet you," Shawn stated interrupting me.
Damn the fuckin background check, it is as if he knows every little detail of every individual in my life.
"I am honored, I never thought I would be able to meet with the famous Shawn Gerald, never have it ever crossed my mind honestly," Carla giggled.
"Neither did I," Diana added.
"Hey, Lily, it has been a while,"
"That is true, how have you been doing?" I asked.
"Fine,"
We all sat including Jenny at a table in the corner, I have just noticed that no one beside us was at the bar, which is weird because this is the weekend and usually this place is filled up with a lot of human beings.
"What are you going to order, girls?" Shawn started.
We gave the waiter our orders, I was feeling a little bit distanced from them, I was feeling insecure as I thought that they might have lost their interest in me. Would they be able to forgive me for what I did? "So, how is your marriage?" Jenny wondered.
"She is playing hard to get even after marriage, isn't she obnoxious?"
Shawn wrapped his arm around my fragile body, which caused the chair to even bulge in his direction.
"Awee, that is just how she is," Carla replied.
"Lily was so upset she couldn't tell you about her marriage, my dad was slightly strict about inviting anyone from her side but I somehow convinced him,"
"Lily? Why didn't you tell us that you couldn't invite us?" Diana was surprised.
"Is that why you didn't tell us about your marriage, oh, poor girl," Jenny sighed.
I glanced at Shawn who smiled cheekily at me; did he plan for this from the start? How did he know that this bothered me though?
"I was embarrassed, I am sorry I could not get myself to tell you," I pointed out.
Clara left her seat to hug me.
"I am sorry we misunderstood you, silly girl... We thought that you were ashamed of us which hurt our pride. Who knows there was an underlying reason for what you did,"
"No problem guys, I am still at fault here," I said with a slightly broken voice that was so touched by the whole situation.
We group hugged and they kept telling me stories about their past week, college break is so boring to them since they don't have enough money to go where they want. They also started working so they informed me of their work issues. I could feel tenderness and guilt in their attitude towards me.
"You have it tough, girls," Shawn pointed out.
I noticed that Carla's cheeks turned red whenever he addressed her. I can't blame her though, imagine a sexy tall broad-shouldered grey-eyed billionaire looking your way with the most attractive smile on his face. It would fascinate any girl, to be honest.
I did understand but it does not mean that I didn't feel jealous, I did not want anyone to look at him like that but me. I wished that I would be the only one to contemplate his sexy feature as I have him all to myself.
I brushed off my thoughts as I knew that I can't be doing this now. His affection towards me wasn't genuine from the start, he quickly got bored of me and now all he feels for me is nothing but pity. "Hey, Lily... Do you hear me?"
"Sorry, what did you say?"
"Your cute husband here actually reserved the whole place, I know you wouldn't realize yourself since you would never imagine someone doing anything like that so I am telling you," Diana explained. "Is that true?" I asked Shawn surprised, why would he do that? It seems he even knows that I gather here with my friends, he prepared to come here from the beginning.
"I would buy the whole restaurant if it means that you can chat with your friends peacefully," Shawn replied as he placed a gentle kiss on my forehead.
He was being so nice to me, is it because he does not want to embarrass me in front of my friends?
"We have to go now, it is quite late," Jenny said.
"It was nice to meet you, Shawn. Let us meet again soon," Diana commented.
After taking care of the bill, Shawn gave his number to the girls instructing them to call him whenever they are in need of his help. He started the engine and I waved them goodbye before we took our leave. I was very happy that we cleared up the misunderstandings that we had.
"Thank you, Shawn. It really means a lot to me,"
"I didn't do that for free though, what are you going to give me?"
"Anything I can afford,"
"Okay then, you are the one who said that."
He parked the car abruptly near the sidewalk.
I was perplexed by the sudden movement, what is he thinking?
"Uhmm, why did you park here?"
"Come here," he said pointing at his lap.
The windows are foamed thankfully but why does he want me to sit on his lap. I blushed as I looked to my left.
"C'mon, you can totally afford to do that," he urged.
I tried to stand up and crossed to his side, I tripped over his leg and he luckily caught me before my head bumps into the window. He fixed my position on his lap pulling me towards him even more. "You won't refuse me today, would you?" he asked in a manly voice that radiated dominance.☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐
