Sir, Let’s Divorce Chapter 9
Chapter 9
Upon seeing her like this, Bruce was reminded of how he had neglected her in recent years. He couldn’t help but utter, “In a few days, Dad will give you
another one…”
Before he finished speaking, the expression of Annie beside him changed.
She was happy to be a goody–goody, but that was when Victoria could only pick up the things left behind by Anya. If Bruce wanted to give Victoria something extra, she would be a little unhappy.
However, she would not show it on her face. She still looked happy for Bruce and Victoria. “Seeing that you two have reconciled, I am relieved…”
Bruce patted the back of her hand and said to Victoria, “Your Aunt Annie has always been concerned about you. In the future, don’t show her disrespect anymore…”
“I still have morning classes. I will go first.” Victoria interrupted him.
She didn’t want to listen to these hypocritical words, but she also didn’t want to continue arguing with them, so she hurriedly left.
Bruce looked at her back, which was far away, and was a little angry. “Victoria!”
Annie quickly pulled his hand and comforted him. “Well, at least you gave her the necklace originally bought for Anya. She looks much happier. As a father, don’t argue with your daughter over such trivial matters!”
Hearing this, Bruce sighed, “If only she was half as sensible as you and Anya…”
A University’s law department.
Victoria had always worked hard in her studies. In the past, she studied finance. Bruce said that she would go to his company after graduation, but now the situation was different. After the mother and daughter pair entered the Nelson family, Bruce’s attitude towards her became too indifferent.
Victoria didn’t even think before changing to a law major. She didn’t like doing business, nor was she talented in that regard. She only wanted to keep and protect her mother’s things.
After class, just as Victoria was about to leave, the teacher suddenly asked her to stay and said to her, “Victoria, I have something to discuss with you.”
Victoria thought that there was something wrong with the homework she handed in yesterday and was about to accept criticism. Unexpectedly. Teacher Lee took her to the office and gave her a document.
“This is an online variety show called ‘Work Hard While Young” with a law firm theme. I thought you’d be perfect for it, so I put your name forward. The production team would like to discuss it with you – are you interested?”
Victoria was stunned for a moment.
Justin Chow, Victoria’s supervisor, nodded and explained, “I know that you have always wanted to go to the Golden Law Firm, but with your current qualifications, even if you successfully get A University’s master’s degree in Law, it would still be very difficult for you to stand out from the resumes of those from famous Ivy Academy schools. You are just a student from an ordinary school.”
Golden Law Firm could be said to be the benchmark of the industry, and it was a dream for many legal people.
Although Victoria had gotten a master’s degree in A University’s Law School, she was indeed an ordinary student. Golden Law Firm valued background very much.
“It is still a decent program. Although the threshold of Golden Law Firm is as high as usual, at least you have the opportunity to try it.”
“Thank you! I will try my best.” Victoria could not believe her ears.
She had thought that she could only go to the local law agencies, but she did not expect to be able to get a chance in the Golden Law Firm.
Justin smiled at her, and his gold–rimmed glasses gave him a gentle, jade–like look. “You’re usually so diligent and great at your studies. Give it your all. This is your opportunity.”
Victoria thanked him again and again, and just as the two needed to discuss some details, they arranged a place to eat together.
Justin paid close attention to the distance between himself and female students, being a renowned Law professor at the University at the age of thirty–three. His good reputation was something he held in high regard.
The place where the two arranged to meet was also a public place, and both of them had the intention to avoid arousing suspicion.
However, Victoria did not expect to meet Matthew.
