YBTM | Chapter 14
*Triggers in this chapter.*
**The sun was shining brightly on a warm spring morning. The birds were singing and people were walking and talking. I was walking out of the local cafe with donuts for breakfast when I felt a pain. "Ow!" I bent over, holding my stomach.
*"What's wrong??" Mike looked over at me in concern.*
*"It's time." I panted, trying to steady my breath. This shit fucking hurt, but it was going to be worth it in the end.*
*Rushing to the car, we got in and headed for the hospital. Once there, we parked and rushed inside.*
*"Violet Mizanin. We called from the car." Mike hurriedly told the receptionist.*
*"Right this way." She said, as I was sat in a wheelchair.*
*"It's going to be okay." Mike soothed, running his hand over my head.
*
*"She's coming." I cried in pain as another contraction ripped through me. I gripped the side of the wheelchair until my knuckles turned white. Once in the room, I was placed on the bed, put in a gown and a blanket over me.* *"Not long now." Mike said with a smile on his face. He has been so supportive throughout these past nine months. No matter how bad my moods got, he was always there to help me through them.*
*"If she's like me, it will take awhile." I laughed through the contractions. The pain and pressure became more and more intense until the doctor came in. I didn't do pain very well, but I was willing to bare through it for our daughter. She was going to know how strong of a fighter her momma really was.*
*"Ready to meet your daughter?" She asked, sitting on a chair by the end of my bed. Mike and I smiled, as the doctor and nurses gave instructions. I scooted to the end of the bed as the doctor put on her gloves and the nurses got into position.
*
*Finally, after three hours of pushing and sixteen hours of labor, our little girl was finally here. Hearing her cries fill the room brought tears of joy and happiness to my eyes.*
*"Is she okay?" I said between breaths.*
*"Perfectly healthy." A nurse said.
*
*"Want to cut the cord daddy?" The doctor asked, holding up the cord with scissors attached for Mike to cut with.*
*Mike then went over to cut the cord. Once that was done, she was wrapped up in a pink blanket and handed back to Mike.
*
*"Mike..." I called. "...I wanna hold her." I reached out my arms for her. He walked over, handing her to me. Looking at the precious face, I placed a kiss on her forehead.*
*"Mommy and Daddy love you so much baby girl." I smiled, looking up at Mike. When I looked up at Mike, my eyes went wide. It was not Mike, it was him.
*
*"No!" I cried as I held my daughter close to my chest.'*
Violet
Waking up to a loud noise, I realized it was all just a dream. Mike and I did not have a baby. We are not even together anymore. Tears brimmed my eyes as I tried to place where I was. Rolling on my side, I saw small windows and felt the sensation of climbing. Where the hell was I? Looking out the small window, I could see nothing but clouds. Was I on a plane?
"No!" I cried, trying to move. My body felt heavy and I knew he was probably giving me something, so I could not see where he was taking me. Once the plane felt steady, I heard a door open. Slowly lifting my head, I saw Cody standing there with a cocky smirk on his face.
"Someone's finally up." I heard. "Ted!" Cody called.
"Finally." Ted said, walking in and closing the door. He slowly made his way over to the bed, sitting down next to me and running his knuckles over my cheek.
"...help..." I tried to yell, but my voice was dry and scratchy.
"Oh no sweetie." Ted rubbed my cheek with his thumb. "I never fly commercial." He grinned.
"Fly!" My eyes went wide. "Where?"
"No need to worry." He shrugged.
"Where is Nicole?!" I asked as I looked around. I was hoping she was not here. I really hope that she got away somehow. As long as she was safe, that was all that mattered to me right now.
"Safe." His gaze was cold. "We got compromised thanks to her." He huffed in annoyance.
"What did you do to her?!" I spat, trying to sit up.
"Nothing." He blew me off. "We let her go."
"Sure." I rolled my eyes.
"Roll your eyes one more time!" Ted hissed, slapping me across the face. I brought my hand to my stinging cheek as a thought came to mind.
"Wait..." I thought. "...orgpromised?" I seemed puzzled. Does that mean she was able to get a hold of Mike and Alex? Thinking back, I remembered something. The note. I knew there was something off about it. I tried to remember what it had said. The end. Michael. He never signs his full name. I knew it!
"You bastard!" I yelled, reaching out to smack him. "I knew it was all a lie! I knew he was not giving up on me!" I yelled, smacking him as hard as I could.
"Too late now, isn't it?" Ted smirked, brushing me off like some pesky fly. He got up and walked to the door, closing it on his way out.
"He's going to find me! And when he does, YOU'RE going to be the one to pay!" I screamed through the closed door.
I brought my hands to my face as tears brimmed my eyes. "Mike..." I sobbed. "....hurry!"
Ted
"You're sure?" I said to the other person on the phone. "No trace whatsoever? Good." I nodded, hanging up the phone. This is what I paid people for. To do all my dirty work and cover my tracks. So far, it has been working to my advantage. Thankfully, my cousin had similar features to Violet and two of my men matched Cody and I. It was all too perfect and actually worked. Now, all I needed was to keep them off my trail until I could officially make Violet mine. After that, there was nothing they could do about anything.
"All good?" Cody asked, bringing me from my thoughts. He was in the seat across from me on my private jet as he sipped his Bourbon.
"Of course." I grinned. "The decoy worked and they followed the wrong car." I laughed. "Still are."
"Idiots." Cody laughed, setting his glass on the table next to him.
My phone began to ring again and as I answered it, I motioned for Cody to check on Violet. I have been waiting for this call, as it was to finalize a major arms deal I had in the works. While I was deep in conversation, I heard my name. "Ted!" Cody called from the back of the jet. I ended my phone call and stood up and headed to the back of the jet.
"Finally." I said, walking in and closing the door. She was finally awake after a few hours and was looking as sexy as ever, lying there with nothing on but my shirt. It rode up and I could see her lower lips peeking out, making me go hard instantly.
"...help..." She tried to yell. I walked over to the bed, sitting down next to her. I started to run my knuckles over her soft cheek as he tried to turn her head to the side.
"Oh no sweetie." I rubbed her cheek with my thumb. "I never fly commercial." I grinned. She actually thought that I would fly with other people? She had a lot more to learn about me. "Fly!" Her eyes went wide. "Where?"
"No need to worry." I shrugged. She didn't need to know we were heading to my private island where I had a meeting to attend and where we would be spending the rest of our lives together. "Where is Nicole?!" She looked around. I rolled my eyes. What is it with that bitch? She wasn't anything special.
"Safe. We got compromised thanks to her." I huffed. I was really getting annoyed with all her questions. She was going to learn to respect my decisions whether she liked them or not. "What did you do to her?!"
"Nothing. We let her go." I blew her off, being done with the conversation. I started to stand from the bed when she opened that smart mouth of hers again.
"Sure." She rolled her eyes.
"Roll your eyes one more time!" I hissed, slapping her across the face. Boy did that feel good after the bitch she has been these past few days.
"Wait..." She paused as if something finally clicked in her head. "...orgpromised?" She furrowed her brows in confusion. "You bastard!" She yelled, reaching out to smack me. "I knew it was all a lie! I knew he was not giving up on me!" She yelled, smacking me as hard as she could.
"Too late now, isn't it?" I smirked, brushing her off. Her slaps did nothing but turn me on. I needed to put some distance between us before I fucked her into submission. I stood from the bed and as I was walking out the door, I heard her yell nonsense about that prick. Like he's going to find us now. Not where we are going. No one knows, not even my family. This place is so far off the grid, only a few of my men even knew about it. Nicole
"Where the hell are they going?" Mike yelled, getting pissed.

"This is the third time we've been past this place." Alex said, looking around.
"Are you sure it's even them we are following?" I asked, trying to look out the window. I was beginning to think we were following the wrong car, but that was impossible. This was the car they went in. "Yes!" Mike snapped. "I saw her get in that exact SUV!"
"...sorry..." I mumbled. Mike has really been on edge since Vi has been taken and I don't blame him. Alex was just the same ever since they got to that mansion. He has not let me out of his sight.
After following the car for what seemed like hours all over some state, they finally came to a hotel. Alex made sure we were not seen as we pulled into the parking lot. We waited for them to exit the car before making our move. "It has to be them!" Mike seemed hopeful.
As they pulled up to the front of the hotel, two men got out, along with a girl. The girl was Vi's height, build, and even had her hair.
"There she is!" I pointed. This was it. We finally got them and were going to get her back and put an end to him. I couldn't wait for this to all be behind us.
"Let's go!" Mike yelled, starting to get out of the car, pulling his gun from the back of his jeans and cocking it.
"No." Alex stopped him. "Let them get a room, as will we. We will come up with a plan to get them away from her and back with us."
Mike sat back in his seat feeling defeated. Pressing his head against the back of the seat, he ran his hands through his hair. He kept his gun resting on his thigh as if he was going to go in there with guns a blazin'. After waiting for over an hour, we made our way out of the car and to the hotel. Alex kept me close to his side. His arm was around my waist as he looked all around the lobby for any threat. The only other people, other than the workers, were a few of our men that had followed us.
"I'm fine." I looked up at him. "It wasn't me they actually wanted."
"Still. You're not leaving my side." He held me close. I wasn't complaining, I did miss his touch, even if it was only for a few days.
Walking in, Mike got us a room and we all headed to the elevator and went to our floor. Once in the room, I sat on the bed, Alex checking the hall and Mike looking out the window. The rest of the men were in rooms on the same floor and took shifts walking the halls.
"This is all my fault!" I broke down, covering my face and falling back on the bed. If only I hadn't given her that note, she would've fought back and been here with us instead of with that asshole.
"Nicole!" Alex ran to my side, sitting next to me and pulling me into his arms. "It's not your fault. None of this is." Alex tried calming me as his fingers ran though my hair.
"Yes it is!" I said through my tears, leaning on Alex. "I never should have given her that note."
"Note?" He looked at me.
"What note?" Mike said, walking over to where we were.
"That night, in LA, when he got out of jail. You know, when we all went to get her..." My lip quivered.
"It's okay.” Alex soothed, rubbing my back now. "During the struggle, after she hit her head, I went to her. I guess when Cody was distracting you both and the others were busy with his other men, Ted hit me in the head and threw me in the trunk." I explained, trying to keep my breathing steady. "Next thing I knew, I woke up in a basement somewhere. Cody came down and told me there was a note from you to her and I have to give it to her for her to believe it was true." I said, pulling the note from my pocket since I had picked it up. I handed it to Mike for him to read.
'Violet,
I can not go on anymore like this. I thought I was in love with you, but now I see that I am not. I have found someone else and I am truly in love. We are over." -Michael'
While he was looking at the note, I saw anger rush over him.
"Have you read it?" He asked, handing it to me. I took the note, looking it over. This is my first time reading it since they just gave it to me already folded up. Looking it over, my eyes went wide in disbelief.
"How could she believe that? You never use your full name."
"Exactly." He growled through gritted teeth.
"He must have her feeling so low about herself, that she'll believe anything." I shook my head. It was not like her to believe something like that so easily. He was really conniving and sadistic. Vi was much stronger than that.
"Not if I can help it!" Mike said with anger, standing up and going on his phone. I had a feeling who he was calling and that person was not going to be happy once Mike was done talking to them.

Feeling a thud and the sound of tires screeching brought me out of my thoughts. We must have landed but, where? We were in the air for a long time, so I knew we went over an ocean, or so it seemed. Feeling the plane slow, I tensed, knowing who would be coming to get me. Slowly, the door opened. I pulled the blankets over my head and pulled them as tightly around me as I could.
"Up!" Cody sneered, walking over to the bed and pulling the blankets down in one swift motion.
"No!" I protested, trying to pull the blankets back over me.
"Seriously?" He shook his head, raising his hand, causing me to stop. "Good girl." He grinned, grabbing my arm and pulling me off the bed. He pushed me toward the door. "Go." He shoved me out of the door and down the aisle of the plane. I looked over to see Ted deep in conversation on his phone. I thought about calling for help.
"Don't think about it." Cody tightened his grip on my arm. "Walk." He pushed me through the plane to the stairs. Exiting the door, the sun was bright with a clear blue sky. I could hear waves crashing, so I knew we were at the beach. "Help!" I screamed, hoping that someone, anyone would hear me. "Someone help!" I yelled, fighting Cody's grip.
"Funny." He chuckled, pulling me by my hair, closer to him. "We're all alone." He grinned, moving my head around to reveal nothing around for miles. Suddenly, I felt the sting on my face again.
"Try it again and it won't just be your face." He said through gritted teeth.
"What's going on?" I heard Ted demand as he got off the plane. I looked over to see a pissed off expression on his face.
"Oh you know..." Cody started, as I thrashed in his hold. "....little Miss Feisty here thought it would be a good idea to scream."
"Oh did you?" Ted raised a brow, walking over to me. "Looks like you were dealt with." He said, hand on my chin, looking at my face. "Let's go." He instructed Cody to follow.
"No!" I yelled, twisting and turning in Cody's hold. Next thing I knew, Ted turned around, fist in hand and walked over, punching me right in the stomach.
"You will listen." He gritted. "You will also learn." He whispered harshly as he leaned down to my ear. Struggling to breathe, Cody continued to drag me to an awaiting SUV. "Where are we going?!"
"Don't worry." Ted coldly said. "Get in." He opened the door. Like hell was I going to get in. I was going to get out of here. There had to be someone here who could help me. "No!" I stomped my foot in protest.
"Cody..." Ted nodded.
"Get in you stupid bitch!" Cody shouted as he threw me in the back, my head hitting the door on the other side. I cried in pain, only to have them both mock me.
"You're both pathetic!" I spat, holding the back of my head.
"No honey, you're pathetic." Cody laughed as he got in next to me. "I mean...look at you." He and Ted both laughed.
"Assholes!" I yelled, only to be backhanded by Cody.
"What was that?" Cody said through gritted teeth.
"...nothing..." I muttered.
"That's what I thought."
The car began to move and I tried to look out the windows to see where we were, if anyone was around, anything that could help me get back home. As we drove, I began to see fewer and fewer things. No people, no stores, shops, nothing. There was nothing around and we had to take a plane to get here. Where the hell did he take me?
Ted
"Good. Keep it up. I want them distracted for as long as you can." I instructed. "I want them as far from her trail as possible. Just keep moving from city to city." I said. "Of course I'm paying. I need them to think it's actually her there." I became annoyed. Who were my men to question me? They must've had a death wish. Glancing over, I saw Cody walking by with Violet. Motioning for him to take her off the plane, I ended my phone call.
"Yes! Just stay there the night, leave in the morning." I said before hanging up. Putting my phone in my pocket, I stood from my seat and walked to the door. Stepping off the plane, I took in the warm, salty air. How I've missed this place. So peaceful, secluded, off the grid. Suddenly I was brought from my thoughts. I looked over to see Cody scowling at Violet as she continued to fight with him. Rolling my eyes, I walked down the steps and over to them. "What's going on?" I demanded as I walked over to where they were.
Cody proceeded to tell me how Violet thought it was a good idea to scream. Walking over, I took her chin in my hands and saw she was being dealt with. Nodding at Cody, I made my way to the SUV that was going to take us to my mansion. Once again, Violet was being difficult. I was about done with her two-day-old attitude, when I turned around, fist in hand, and walked over, punching her right in the stomach. She leaned over in pain, trying to catch her breath. We kept walking to the SUV and she refused to get in, again. Cody threw her in and she hit her head. I didn't feel bad since she deserved it. She began to run her mouth when Cody backhanded her. She muttered something, but Cody quickly put an end to it. "Very good Cody." I nodded. "Now, keep her quiet." I turned around in my seat as we began to leave the airstrip.
As we were driving down the road, I looked at all the land I had. Man, it's good being as rich as I am, not to mention a powerful Capo. My own private island, no rules, no one around to tell you what to do. It's perfect. Staring at the ocean, we came up to my beach house...well, beach mansion. I grinned at the thought of being here, all alone and finally having Violet to myself.
