Chapter 32
Chapter 32
But she never expected Sally to dare to call off the wedding and leave.
Just thinking about it made her furious, and her resentment towards Sally grew deeper.
“I haven’t forgotten, and I won’t reconcile with her,” Howard’s gaze turned cold. His tone icy, each word emphasized with heaviness.
“Mother, take care of Rina for me.”
Seeing Howard so resolute, Amanda didn’t say anything more. She still believed in her son.
After Howard left, Grace slowly came out of her room.
Amanda smiled faintly, “Grace, you heard it too. Howard doesn’t have that intention. You can relax.”
“Yeah,” Grace forced a smile, but she was still quite uneasy inside.
“Well, Amanda, I’ll go upstairs and check on Rina.”
“Go ahead!” Amanda trusted Grace.
Grace went upstairs, but the smiling face she had just put on had now turned sinister and terrifying.
“Rina!”
Grace knocked on the door, but there was no response. She pushed the door open and walked in directly.
Inside the room, Rina sat on the floor, silently playing with Lego blocks, as if her world consisted only of Legos and nothing else.
“You little brat, you’re getting bolder now, even daring to report me. Just wait and see how I’ll deal with you.” Grace rushed forward and forcefully pinched Rina’s thigh.
Because of her short skirt and pants covering it, the injury wasn’t easy to notice.
Rina looked up, tears welled up in her eyes from the pain, but she didn’t make a sound.
Grace wasn’t satisfied yet and forcefully pinched her other thigh. “You little brat, don’t look at me like that. Let me tell you, this is Manor, and nobody will take your side. You better obediently listen to me, follow my instructions, or don’t blame me for being rude to you, got it?”
Rina just silently stared at her, tears flowing uncontrollably.
“Alright, stop crying.” Grace felt relieved after venting her anger. She wiped Rina’s tears and said, “I’m strict with you because it’s for our future, you know?”
Rina still didn’t say a word, just kept looking at Grace.
Grace felt uneasy at Rina’s gaze. The emotions that had already calmed down were stirred up again. She slapped Rina’s thigh hard, “Stop looking at me like that. Just play nicely.”
Grace got up, laid on Rina’s small bed. And leisurely started scrolling through her phone, completely ignoring Rina’s
presence.
Rina had been looking at Grace for a long time, but finally lowered her gaze, and tears the size of beans fell on the Lego blocks.
To avoid letting Mia and Kara see her swollen forehead, Sally had left early in the morning.
Just as she entered the company, her path was blocked.
“Madam Amanda?” Sally hesitated for a moment.
Amanda looked at Sally, her eyes instantly filled with anger. “Sally, how dare you come back?”
Sally remained silent.
“Come out, I have something to say to you.” Amanda commanded and turned to leave.
However, Sally didn’t move.
Although she felt guilty towards Howard, she didn’t think there was anything to talk about with Amanda.
She never liked herself before. Wasn’t calling off the wedding
what she wanted?
Amanda stopped and turned around. Her gaze turned icy. “Sally, I assume you don’t want me to embarrass you here.”
Sally took a deep breath and followed her.
She understood Amanda well. She had never been soft-
hearted towards her. If she didn’t listen to her, who knew what Amanda would do?
