Secret Scion

Chapter 147 -

Rose's face reddened out of anger after reading the text message. She threw her phone away furiously, her teeth already gnashing together. "Asher, you bastard!"

The moment Asher was done with his cigarette, Savannah finally exited her office. The incident that happened earlier must have been very embarrassing for her because she walked past him quickly without saying a word.

Hunter had already received Asher's text message, so he quickly brought Peter and the others to Sky Bar. Since it was noontime, Bar Avenue seemed very deserted as many bars were not open for business. He unlocked the door and waited inside with his men.

Peter was worried that there was not enough staff running Sky Bar, so he had specifically transferred a batch of subordinates from Rollinsford to man the bar. Adding the original twenty or so subordinates that he had in the first place, there were about forty people waiting in the bar right now.

Asher's car sped quickly down the road. In less than half an hour, he had already arrived at Sky Bar. Meanwhile, the Gentlemen's members had yet to arrive at the bar.

There was a private room on the first floor, so Asher led Savannah into it. Hunter and Peter followed behind them dutifully.

"Master Asher, all of our comrades are here. We have about forty people in this place," Hunter reported respectfully.

Asher crossed his legs domineeringly as he asked, "How many members are left in the Gentlemen?"

Savannah looked away with a huff, not wanting to respond to Asher's question at all.

"Oh dear, Ms. Anderson is unhappy. Hunter, tell some of your men to come here and have them

serve her well," Asher ordered.

"Roger that." Hunter nodded.

Savannah knew very well what Asher meant by that order. She gritted her teeth and snarled out, "Twenty-two!"

Originally, there were more than seventy members in the Gentlemen. However, after Tristan's incident broke out, more than fifty members chose to resign from the organization. Now, the Gentlemen was left with over twenty people.

Asher was slightly surprised after hearing Savannah's answer. He did not expect Tristan's incident to have such a huge impact on the organization. A cold chuckle bubbled out of his lips as he remarked, "You call this the Gentlemen? What a bunch of cowards." After that, he looked at Hunter and said, "Wait till everyone is here before you take action."

"Got it." Hunter nodded seriously.

The moment Savannah heard the exchange, she knew that she was in huge trouble. "Asher, even though the Gentlemen only has over twenty members left, at least eight families are backing them up. If you were to lay a finger on these people, their families would definitely form an alliance just to get revenge on you. Are you sure you can handle the heat?"

Asher flicked the ash from his cigarette with a faint smile on his face. "This isn't something you should be worried about."

Half an hour later, the Gentlemen's members arrived at Sky Bar one after another. However, the number of people there was different from the number reported. Excluding Savannah and Rose, there should be twenty members altogether, but there were only fifteen members present at Sky Bar right now.

After that, Asher ordered Savannah to contact the five absent members, only to realize that they had already turned off their phones. Everyone knew very well that they had cold feet and refused to attend the meeting.

The door was closed, and the lights were quickly turned on. Soon, sounds of fighting could be heard coming from outside the private room. Screams of pain echoed throughout the entire bar and lingered there for a very long time.

Asher leaned back on the couch with a deadpan. It seemed as though he could not hear the ruckus outside.

On the other hand, Savannah felt chills of fear traveling down her spine. The pained shrieks kept drumming on her heart constantly, making her look sick.

"Asher, you're digging your own grave! Their families will never let you off the hook!" she seethed crossly.

"You speak as if I haven't offended enough families to begin with. What about the Schmidts, hmm? I'm still out here leading a good life, aren't I?" Asher replied nonchalantly.

Savannah had met her fair share of arrogant people in the past, but never had she met such a man with balls of steel and an ego that was as inflated as the sun itself. She could only grit her teeth furiously, seeing as she was too helpless to do anything.

About ten minutes later, the fighting slowly ceased in the background. However, the screams of pain did not stop at all.

At that moment, the door of the private room was opened from the outside. Hunter strode in and reported, "Master Asher, those members can't even withstand a good beating. They're already half-dead before I could even finish my warm-ups."

Asher just smiled faintly and replied, "They're the apples of their families' eyes, after all. Not only are they spoiled, but they're also fragile, to boot. Go clean up the mess outside; there will be people coming here soon."

Hunter did not inquire about the identities of the newcomers. Instead, he just nodded and left.

"Are you happy now that you've vented your frustrations? Let's see how you'll deal with the aftermath!" Savannah huffed.

Asher had already come up with a solution. A smile played on his lips as he grabbed his phone and dialed Joel's number.

At Joel's office in Crystal Harem.

"Master Joel, are you saying that Asher has dealt with the Gentlemen?" Astonishment was written all over Bard's face. To think that Asher was an incredible man who could deal with an organization with over seventy members so easily... Who in the Capital City would dare to refer to Asher as a useless heir?

Joel smoked from his cigarette before replying, "Well, he's not done dealing with them yet, but he's almost done. I heard that the Gentlemen is now left with twenty members."

Bard gasped out in shock. "I have no idea how Asher managed to pull this off. He's definitely extraordinary."

Nina leaned against the windowsill, a trace of disdain flashing in her eyes. "He's just nothing but

a socialite without an educational background. What's so special about him? Mr. Eastwood, you are overestimating his capabilities."

The memory of Asher flirting with her in such a humiliating way sent anger coursing through Nina's veins. If it was not for his identity as the Crawford family's esteemed young master, she would have made sure that Asher was hospitalized for a very long time.

Bard shot a look in Nina's direction. "Nina, from how I see it, Asher is completely different compared to his past self. No one should underestimate him, lest they suffer from defeat at his hands. Even Rose has lost to him more than once."

Joel nodded wisely in agreement. "That's right. We have to be wary of Asher. Nina, what's the progress on Sky Bar's handover process right now? My eye has been twitching over the past two days, which makes me anxious."

Nina replied, "Asher said he doesn't have enough cash on hand at the moment, so we need to wait for some time. I think the process will be done soon."

Just as her words fell, Joel's phone started ringing loudly. He picked it up and cast a look at the screen to see Asher's name.

"What is it, Asher?" he asked with a smile.

"Previously, I promised to let you recruit as many members from the Gentlemen as you can. I'm a man of my word, so I'm here to fulfill my promise. Today, I've brought the remaining forces of the Gentlemen to Sky Bar. Drop by the bar if you have time. They're on their best behavior right now, so this is the perfect time for you to bribe them." After that, Asher hung up on Joel.

The latter had an ominous feeling spreading from his heart. When Asher was speaking earlier, Joel seemed to have heard faint cries of pain coming from the background, which meant that Asher must have taught those members a lesson.

Joel could care less about the members being beaten up. However, the location was Sky Bar, which still served as his territory for now. If that incident had happened in his turf, it meant that Joel was the one who would be held accountable.

"That bastard!" Joel could not help but curse out loud. "Nina, something happened at Sky Bar! Get over there right now!"

By the time Nina arrived at Sky Bar with a dozen of subordinates flanking her, Hunter and his underlings had already left. Members of the Gentlemen were left sprawling all over the floor. Even Nina could not resist cursing loudly. "Asher, you fucker! How dare you pin this incident on me! You better pray that you won't run into me in the future!"

Nina was no idiot. The fact that the Gentlemen's members were beaten up in her turf meant her automatic involvement in this incident. She would not be able to clear her own name even if she sprouted a hundred mouths to try to talk herself out of this.

'Recruit the Gentlemen's members' my ass! He wants me here to deal with the aftermath! Driven by fury, Nina's chest puffed up, making her bosom look extremely magnificent. After Savannah had successfully escaped from Asher, she went to look for Rose immediately. Now that the members of the Gentlemen had gotten beaten up, the incident was definitely not a small one that could be solved easily.

Rose's office, Pearl Tower.

Savannah found herself standing before Rose in a haggard fashion. Her slender brows were tangled together in a slight frown as she looked guilty.

"Ms. Schmidt, I didn't expect that Asher would dare to face the Gentlemen head-on. I feel guilty

for witnessing all of our members being beaten up without the ability to do anything to help them out. I'm willing to take on the responsibility."

"Sky Bar is Joel Harrison's territory. Did he participate in this incident as well?" Rose asked. "It's difficult to determine that factor. However, Asher did call Joel after the beating was over. He said something about a promise, so I think they've made some sort of a deal," Savannah replied.
