Chapter Plans
I looked at all the fish in front of me. It was endless. Raw, cooked, anything and everything I could want. I beamed at Zev and he didn’t do anything. I frowned. He needed to grow down I thought. I ordered my food and found a place to sit.. I couldn’t help but eat like a hungry animal and Zev just stared at me. I stopped and looked at him with a full fish in my mouth hanging out of the side.
“Freak” he muttered. I was tempted to stick my tongue out but I refrained.
We ate in silence and I was happy, I had my fish. I swear if I could have my tail it would be swaying happily.
“Katsi?” I looked at Zev. “Who is Lilith to you?” he asked me. I blinked. Why did he want to know?
“My older sister” I told him. “She is about 3 years older than me. She walked out of the pride at 16. The pride instantly disowned her. We met over the years and we bickered and had lots of fights, but its gets worse every time I see her. She pissed me off so much that I want to kill her. She knows full well she will never beat me so I don’t see why she would challenge me.”
“Lilith has been in the guard since she was 17. My uncle accepted her because of her skill at being a leader and thinking things through. The rest of us just chase, she plans how to capture, my uncle liked that about her, when we first met she growled at me resentful, and I growled back, I saw she was invading my home, and so she hates me but respects me because I am her leader, next to the queen.”
“Was that the queen in my trial?′ I asked, maybe this time I would get some answers. Zev nodded but didn’t say anything. “Why was she at my trial?” I asked him.
“She wanted to personally over see it. She has a little plan in store, we are both involved.” he told me. I frowned at him. What did he mean?
“Why us?” I asked.
“Because she is my mother and loves to make sure I’m doing perfectly fine, and I’m not turning into my uncle.” Zev spat. I blinked at him. Zev was the prince of the demons?
“So... you will become king at 30?” I questioned. He nodded. “But your not married or in love” I stated. He nodded again.
“Like I said, she worries I’m too like my uncle.” Zev’s uncle never married and never fell in love. He was the best at what he did because he was cold hearted and he didn’t let anything distract him. “I think we should start your training.” Zev said. I nodded. “We may need to patch up your fighting skills but I think they are good enough, we will test them at some point, you also need to know the main history of the guard, plus the laws, and all the codes. Like code 395. You will need to learn to take orders and work as a group. You can’t run around doing things for your self. ”
“That is a lot to learn, you sure I can do it all?” I asked. He nodded. He got up and took my now empty plate. I got up and followed him, he placed the plates on a rack and left the room, I still followed and we walked to corridors in silence, I wasn’t expecting Zev to ask me anything.
“How is your nose?” My nose?... oh!
“Oh, it’s fine.” I told him, cheerfully.
“That’s good.” he said. I couldn’t help but smile a little bit. He seemed cold heart but he actually was very nice.
