Saying Goodbye to My Troubles (Nydia and Mick)

Chapter Troubles 33

Chapter 33

"Does Mick need to say that himself?" Mona sneered.

She continued, "You said you wanted a divorce, but now you're sneakily sending food to him. If this isn't clinging to Mike, what is? You're acting so fickle, and it's no wonder he can't stand you."

Her eyes filled with disdain as she looked at Nydia.

Nydia couldn't believe a simple meal could stir up so much drama. "I'm sure you're aware of the law, Ms. Poole. Mick and I are legally married, and whether or not I cook for him is entirely between us.

"What do you think you're doing, barging in and yelling like this?"

She pulled out her phone and tapped on the recording app. "Or maybe I should record this and show your fans your behavior as a homewrecker

Mona's face turned red in rage. Her jaw clenched tightly when Nydia tapped on the recording button. "Fine, you win! But I'm warning you, Mick will never spare you another glance no matter what you do!"

Nydia scoffed. "Then, you better get him a blindfold."

"You!" Mona pointed a trembling finger at Nydia, and her voice seethed with fury. "Just your wait!"

With that, she stormed off.

Though Nydia had defeated Mona in their verbal sparring, she didn't seem pleased. Instead, a deep unease stirred in her chest.

She could ignore Mick, but she couldn't abandon Ted. And now thanks to Mona, she had to

confront this issue head-on.

Nelson noticed her low spirits and hesitated briefly. Then, he spoke up. "Nydia, are we still heading to the surgical training room?"

Nydia snapped out of her thoughts and quickly gathered her emotions. "Yes, of course."

The past couldn't be undone, but the future held endless probabilities. She couldn't let her

emotions control her.

The training room was well-equipped with realistic organ models, bones, and a plethora of reference books. Once she entered, she headed straight for the surgical section and was determined to continue honing her precision and speed. Nelson browsed through the bookshelf and pulled out a book he'd read. "Hold this for me, Nydia."

It seemed he was how more comfortable calling her name.

"Oh, sure." Nydia took the book from him. As she glanced down, a particular passage entered her sight.

"The bond between a parent and child is simply to watch their back as they journey further away. You stand at one end of the path and watch as they disappear around the corner. With their retreating figure, they're silently telling you not to follow." The words struck a chord in her heart, and a realization hit her. Even the closest of bonds between a parent and a child was about separation and independence.

Her divorce from Mick might just be another challenge on Ted's path of growing up.

A weight lifted from her heart, and she felt she'd let go.

When she turned around, she found Nelson watching her with a soft gaze. She flushed with embarrassment and muttered, "Thank you for this, Nelson."

Nelson took the book from her and placed it back on the shelf. Then, he lightly patted her shoulder. "I should be thanking you since you were the one helping me take the book."

He knew everything but chose not to say it aloud.

Nydia turned her face away, pretending to fix her hair when she secretly wiped a tear. "What I meant was, I'll need your help with some surgical techniques later, so thanks in advance." "No problem," Nelson replied. His eyes filled with warmth,

That night, Ted stirred in bed clutching his stomach.

"It hurts..."

Sweat beaded on his forehead, and though he tried to vomit, nothing came out. He couldn't even voice his discomfort and could only manage to sob weakly. #Claim Bonus For Free Every
