Saying Goodbye to My Troubles (Nydia and Mick)

Chapter My Troubles 34

Chapter 34

Mick called in a group of specialists for consultation, and the final diagnosis was that Ted had

overeaten.

"It's best for him to move around a bit. He shouldn't drink any more water for now. Massage his stomach in a clockwise motion," the doctor advised.

Ted was exhausted from crying and was now lying in bed, groaning softly. Mick felt both annoyed and distressed. "How did this happen? He's never had such a problem before!"

The doctor wiped the sweat from his forehead. "Mr. Ted's stomach and spleen have weakened after he caught a cold. He needs to stick to a light diet and avoid fried or processed foods."

The doctor was trying to sound vague. However, he felt his head throb when he saw the floor littered with fast food packaging. What irresponsible parent would allow their child to eat this kind of food while they were ill? He would have thought this was neglect if he didn't know Mick only had one son.

Mick thought of the meals Nydia had sent over. They were light, healthy, and shaped into animals with much effort. Ted would love it if he saw them.

"Is there a faster way to make him feel better?" Mick asked as his gaze swept over the discarded jar in the trash can. His frustration deepened, and Ted's cries only made it worse.

The doctors discussed and finally decided on induced vomiting. Not long after, the sound of Ted's retching filled the ward accompanied by a nauseating stench.

Mick frowned, and his expression was full of disgust. Some vomit splattered onto his clothes,

and the stench was unbearable.

His fatherly love immediately vanished as he backed away and left Ted to vomit on his own. "Dad... I want some water," Ted whimpered through his tears. His mouth tasted bitter, and he wanted to rinse it out.

Whenever he threw up, Nydia would always be by his bed. She'd get a rinsing cup and a glass of water ready, and she would gently rub his stomach to make him feel better. "Let's talk about it after you've vomited," Mick replied. There was a tinge of displeasure in his

tone.

Ted felt more aggrieved. His tears fell and soaked the bed sheets. He suddenly missed Nydia

terribly.

Now he understood that eating burgers while sick would make him feel awful. Nydia used to stop him for his own good.

He decided not to resent Nydia anymore. All he wanted was for her to come back soon.

Heartbroken, his stomach churned even more, and he began vomiting bile.

Mick hired a cleaner to deal with the mess in the ward, but the stench was so overpowering that the cleaner nearly fainted. "This won't do. You'll have to extra, or I'm not cleaning this up."

Mick agreed to a 500-dollar tip, but the cleaner still wore a look of reluctance. His expression darkened further.

In the past, Nydia had always handled everything herself no matter how sick Ted got.

Somehow, there was a lingering unpleasant odor though the room had been cleaned. When Ted vomited before, there had never been any noticeable smell.

His frown deepened, and his chest tightened with frustration that almost suffocated him.

"Dad, Mom sent me food today. Does that mean she misses me? I want to see her.

"Dad, I want Mom. I want to find her." Ted lay weakly on the bed after vomiting. His face was pale, and he could barely sit up.

"Stay here and rest. I'll go get her." Mick lowered his gaze and pondered for a moment.

So this was all just to make him go to her and bring her back, wasn't it? Fine. He'd give her this one chance!
