Chapter 11
Chapter 11

The crowd erupted into a commotion upon hearing my words.
It wasn’t that they had forgotten, but rather they had chosen to selectively ignore.
If Rick’s experiment succeeded and contributed to the medical field, everyone would overlook his past mistakes.
“Lisa, what are you saying? Don’t you know the occasion today?”
Rick grabbed my hand, his voice tinged with annoyance.
I pushed him away with a smile, then turned to look at the big screen.
“Rick, this is the gift I prepared for your speech today. Enjoy this feast.”
The big screen began playing Rick’s experimental report, followed by a comparison with reports from a foreign medical research institution.
The similarity reached up to eighty percent..
Prominent figures in the academic community present were displeased and left the
room.
Rick yelléd for the backstage staff to shut down the screen, but I just chuckled and looked at him.
“Don’t rush, this is just the beginning.”
Next, the screen displayed Jenny’s daughter Mia’s current health status and the entire surgical process at that time.
Jenny, sitting in the audience, turned pale, gripping the armrest tightly.
“Everyone here is in the medical field, so I believe these details need no further explanation. Professor Rick Jones, for his own selfish gain, used immature
experimental results on a patient.
“Jenny, you know your daughter’s current situation better than anyone. High fever that won’t subside is just the beginning symptom.”
Jenny trembled, pointing at Rick but unable to utter a word.
Subsequently, the screen showed the surveillance footage from the cemetery entrance. where Rick, for Jenny’s sake, pushed me down the stairs, blood trickling down my thigh, staining the ground red.
The surveillance footage was extracted from the dashcam in Rick’s car.
Rick had been extremely compliant with me during this time in order to avoid divorce, which was why he had relaxed his guard against me.
Everyone present was shocked, as Rick’s actions were akin to murder.
“Lisa, are you trying to destroy me completely
Chapter 11
Rick went mad, rushing towards me and grabbing my collar.
I gazed at him with a steady look.
“Rick, don’t forget, you still owe Alex a life.”
Rick’s eyes were bloodshot. Having lost his rationality, he forcefully pushed me to the ground.
“I didn’t mean to. I just didn’t want to use immature experiments on my own son. I wanted to wait until I truly succeeded before operating on Alex.
“But I never expected Alex couldn’t hold on. I was afraid too, afraid that Alex would truly die by my hands. I didn’t want that. I could only use Mia for the experiment.”
I turned to look at Jenny in the audience.
“Did you hear that? This is the man you won over through seduction, the man you’re so proud of, but he only loved himself all along.”
The big screen continued to display the intimate photos Jenny had sent me with Rick. The pictures flashed by, forming a stark contrast with Rick on stage and Jenny in the audience.
It had been two months since Mia’s surgery, and she still hadn’t been discharged. Jenny should have realized something was wrong long ago.
She just trusted Rick too much.
Sirens sounded at the entrance of the venue, causing chaos in the room.
Rick attempted to flee but was intercepted by the people I had arranged.
“Lisa, you are too vicious. What good does it do me to ruin you? I am Alex’s father.” I watched Rick being escorted away by security, walked over, tidied his clothes, and gently adjusted the camellia on his lapel.
Bending down to his ear, I whispered, “Today is Alex’s birthday. As a father, you should mourn for him.”
Only then did Rick realize, lowering his head to look at his black suit, his eyes widening in horror.
