Chapter 10
Sasha
3 months later
“Hey, Sasha did you get the notes from psychology class? I might have overslept?” Chelsea asks me as she drinks her coffee. So gross who would drink the stuff?
I dig through my pink backpack until I find the notes. I hand them to Chelsea who has a big grin on her face. “Here you go. Just copy them and bring them to me later at the house.”
Suddenly I’m wrapped in a hug. Chelsea squeezes tightly then lets go. “You’re the best! What would I do without you?” She squeals.
“Hmm fail?” I tease her and we lock arms and start walking across campus together.
Chelsea is my best friend. She is also the most beautiful girl I have ever met with her red hair and bright blue eyes. We met three months ago when classes started here at Blue Lakes University and I got totally lost. We ended up having the same class and bonded over our terrible professor Mrs. Wick. Two days later Chelsea introduced me to her sorority Phi Kappa Nu.
Now we are sorority sisters and belong to the best sisterhood a girl could ask for. My big sisters are confident, smart, and bold. Something I aspire to be. I tend to be shy around strangers.
Chelsea and I race across campus to our house. When we enter the golden oak doors we are stopped by our big sister Lydia. Another six-foot beauty with platinum blonde hair and dark blue eyes.
“Hey, girls where’s the fire?” She asks and makes a hissing sound.
“Sorry, Lydia. We just left class and I’m hyped on caffeine. I practically dragged Sasha here.” Chelsea tells her and I just stare at the ground nervously. I hate attention on me.
“You need to slow down with the caffeine. Sugar makes you fat. We have that swimsuit competition next month. We all need to look our best. Like Sasha here, a natural beauty.” I can feel Lydia stare at me so I look up and make eye contact. She's so intimidating.
“Thanks, big sister.” I whisper and she walks away. Chelsea and I exchange a look and run upstairs.
We go to my bedroom and Chelsea plops down on the bed on her back. I stand by the door with my back pressed against it.
“That was so close! The last time Lydia caught me sugared up she watched me exercise for two days to make sure I worked the carbs off. You must be my lucky charm.” She laughs and I walk over to my wooden desk and sit my backpack down in the black rolling chair.
“I am no one’s good luck charm. Now let’s finish our homework then figure out what to wear to the party this weekend at the Zeta house.” I wink and I can tell I have Chelsea’s attention now. The girl loves to party and I always refuse to go. I hate drinking.
“Yes let’s! I’m going to make sure we both look super hot. Then maybe your hot boyfriend won’t be able to keep his hands off you!” She squeals while I sit on my bed. Chelsea starts going through my closet.
My thoughts drift off to my boyfriend. He is so cute and so sweet at times. But most of the time he is moody and distant. Also, he constantly is questioning everything I do. Not to mention I hardly see him. He claims he is always working and it isn’t my business. I have no idea where he works. I find it odd we have been together for two years and I barely know anything about him.
My phone rings breaking me from my thoughts. ‘Speak of the devil’ I think as I answer my phone. “Hey, Jonah what’s up?”
