Chapter A Kiss
Faye had almost forgotten that she could catch a cold if she stayed out in the rain, so she jumped up to change and warm herself up as the rainfall slowly came to a stop, Naois stayed outside to hunt for some food. After Faye dressed in warmer clothing she decided to head to Naois’ room to get her book and read for a little. As Faye picked up the book a picture of her team and grandparents fell out the back of the book.
A sharp feeling of regret and homesickness briefly wash over her. Her grandparents are probably freaking out and hoping that she returns home safely, while she’s hoping to stay a while longer. Putting the photos back where they fell out, she didn’t want to leave Naois alone. Not yet.
Naois was traveling through the palace hallways hearing the echo of his scales rubbing against the tiles of the floors, it reminded him that at one point he truly felt alone and isolated, now he knows Faye is somewhere around and that comforts him.
The friendship the pair shared wasn’t overbearing or burdening, but when Naois thought about their friendship it brought a small smile to his face, but couldn’t the nagging feeling he felt in the back of his mind, constantly reminding Naois that she would have to return home at some point. She didn’t belong to him.

Faye and Naois left the water palace to go explore the ruined village once more, before dinner and before Naois disappeared somewhere. He wouldn’t explain why or where he went, and Faye would never ask. Faye would stop and draw the homes or ruins and take notes. She took note of how nature took over the city, it reclaimed what was lost and now it’s making the land flourish beautifully. There were species of animals living with one another in harmony. It was moments like this where Faye wished she brought her camera so she could document everything she saw, but the drawing/sketching would have to do.
“Faye, I’ve been meaning to ask...” Naois began suddenly, she stopped drawing to look at him. ‘Come on just ask if she wants to return home. If she misses her family. ASK!’ He took a deep breath as Faye looked at him in confusion, waiting for him to ask his question. “Is it true human females have a flower that they give to their partner of choice?” ‘THAT WASN’T THE QUESTION I WAS SUPPOSED TO ASK!’
Faye blinked a few times trying to understand if she heard what she just heard from her friend. “And if that is true, what would you do?”
“I’d plant it to commemorate our friendship!” He excitedly spoke and Faye was trying her best not to laugh, he was so naive! She started laughing harder when she saw that his face was pulled into a pout, “I don’t understand what’s so funny. I thought it would be a great way to remember our friendship if you ever return home.” He said as he seemed to falter toward the end.
Faye bit her lip, she felt bad for laughing at him, “Is that what you wanted to ask me at first?” She paused looking to see if she was right seeing him nod his head in agreement so carried on, “Well don’t worry too much, I don’t want to go home, even though I know my grandparents must be worried sick, I don’t want to leave.”
Naois seemed to brighten up at her words and his tail rattled to match his excitement and Faye smiled along with him. Naois then slowed his rattle, “That’s great news! Thank you, Faye, but can you answer my question about the flower? Please?”
“The flower you’re talking about isn’t an actual flower it’s more of a play on words for when a female has sex or mates for the first time. I don’t have a literal flower.” Faye explained with tinted pink cheeks. Naois wasn’t any better once he understood what she meant.
“I’m sorry! I didn’t mean it!” Naois exclaimed covering his eyes with his tail. Faye waved it off as she softly laughed at him. “It’s fine, you didn’t know and now you do,” Faye said trying to cheer her snake friend up. He lowered his tail and gave a toothy wide smile. Faye went back to sketching the animals and scenery when she paused and faced Naois again. “There is something else I could give you, but it’s not a flower, but it is how humans show affection to loved ones,” Faye explained as she fought the heat in her upper body. Naois hummed softly he could feel her excitement ′Whatever she was talking about, it’s making her nervous and excited.'
"Ok fine do what you want, just show me,” Naois said rattling his tail, almost like a dog waiting for a treat. Faye beckoned him closer and he slithered so he was closer to her. Faye cupped his face, leaned closer, and planted a kiss on his forehead, then planted quick kisses on both of his cheeks, and then his nose. She stopped hovering over his lips, as she debated on kissing his lips or not, she was pulled into his chest as his tail wrapped around her, making her place her hands on his toned and tanned skin.
“If I continued with my mouth placed upon yours, would you promise not to bite or nick me with your fangs?”
“I promise.” Naois softly spoke as he anxiously waited.
With lidded eyes, Faye moved to gently stroke her lips against his, just small slow ghosting strokes without any pressure. Naois' breath got caught in his throat as Faye continued, until she moved to his bottom lip and gently pulled at it making a moan rip from his throat. Without thinking, Faye ran her tongue between the small gap and earned another moan. She liked the sounds he made and pressed herself against him a tad harder and reached into his hair. Naois' arms moved under her back and head, trying to copy her movements. Faye moaned as he pressed harder into her while kissing her back, Faye broke away to catch her breath and Naois stared down at her with hazy eyes as he moved his hand carefully cupping her cheek.
Naois closed his eyes and leaned down and slipped his tongue into her mouth, making both of them moan in each other's mouths, as their tongues danced and touched. His tongue was forked, she knew that, but it was fleshy like her tongue. Naois figured that this act of affection could be placed anywhere, he began planting his lips on her neck, shoulders, and repeated her actions by kissing her forehead, cheeks, and nose before resting his forehead against hers, staring deeply into her eyes.
"Can we do it one more time? Please, just once more?" Naois begged Faye, she shook her head, she didn't want to cross the line she set down for herself.
"Please, Faye! Just one more!" He begged once more, nuzzling his head into the crook of her shoulder. One more wouldn't kill her, and she did want one more. For research of course!
"Ok, you win just-" Faye was cut off by Naois' lips crashing onto hers. His tail went in between Faye's legs and pushed them open and pressed against Faye, it sent shivers down her spine, and without thinking she ground up into him, even with her dress on she felt a heavy heat reaching her core from him. They both separated from the kiss, but Naois repeated the action from earlier, "Is this another sign of affection?"
"Kinda, but it's different and wasn't apart of our deal-" Faye was cut off once again, when he repeated the motion once more, Faye's hands went to the side as he spread her legs wider and ground into her harder.
"Naois" Faye gasped out as he lifted her dress a little and the heat intensified along with the roughness of his grinding. He pulled away.
"I'm sorry if I was being rough, you can feel my mating piece to make us both vulnerable."
"Naois it's ok, you don't have to-" Again Faye was cut off when she felt something hot and thick, but something was off with his 'mating piece'. Sliding her hand up and down, there was something extra, and she asked to see it, in her mind she screamed, 'He has two!'. She moved away before anything else happened.
"Let's stop, before anything else happens, alright?" Naois nodded and fixed the black cloth as Faye fixed her dress. Naois nodded his head as some strands of his hair fell in front of his face. Brushing his hair behind his ear as he helped Faye stand up and walked back to the castle.
"Hey Faye, what was that act of affection called?" Naois asked before they separated to their rooms.
"It's called a kiss." She called out from the staircase, while he went to his room and thought it over. 'A kiss, so simple, but so intoxicating.' As he laid in bed and went to sleep.
