Rosangela: The Runaway Princess (Book #2)

Chapter 58

Third Person’s Point of View:

Dr. Bennedict was startled when he heard the door slam beside him directly after Prince Xavier flounced out of his bedroom.

“Hey, dude, what’s up? You look furious,” he asked curiously.

“Of course, I am absolutely furious at having been deceived by my pet,” Xavier grumbled.

“Chill out, Xavier!” Benny tried to calm his best friend down, “I know exactly how you feel. But I am sure Angela must have her own reasons why she is lying to you about her identity. Maybe she’s afraid you’ll go loopy if you find out that she’s actually a half-blood vampire.”

“Actually,” Xavier began, “I still can forgive Rosangela for hiding her real identity as a half-blood vampire, Benny. But what enrage me is because she didn’t tell me that she’s actually Princess Mirabelle.”

Benny gaped. “So Rosangela is Maximilian’s fiancée who got abducted by the werewolves on their wedding day?”

“You know what? She had never been kidnapped by the werewolves. In fact, those werewolves had helped her run away from the kingdom of Clanbella instead,” Xavier snorted with annoyance.

Benny’s face wore a puzzled look. “How come?”

“Rosangela told me that one of the werewolves is her father, that’s why they were willing to help her escape,” Xavier explained.

Benny looked astounded at the news. “So Princess Claribelle’s husband is a werewolf? Well, it’s news to me.”

“Yeah, I have just known about it too,” Xavier said.

“It’s really hard to believe, Xavier,” Benny spoke in a low mumble, as if to himself.

“Look, Benny!” Xavier grasped him by the shoulders. “I would prefer it if you didn’t tell anyone about my pet’s real identity because it might endanger her.”

“Don’t worry! Your secret is safe with me,” Benny convinced him.

“Thanks, bro!” Xavier gave him a pat on the back.

“No problem!” Benny responded.

“By the way, how is Rosangela? She is going to be okay, right?” Xavier queried with some apprehension.

“Don’t worry! She’ll be fine. Her cuts and scratches will start to heal by itself soon, thanks to her vampire blood,” Benny answered.

“Thank goodness for that!” Xavier said with a sigh of relief.

“Make sure she stays in bed for the next few days to speed her recovery, okay?” Benny told him.

“Yes, I will,” Xavier promised.

“I’m sorry, Xavier, but I ought to be leaving now. I have still got piles of work to do. I promise I’ll be back in a couple of days to check on Rosangela,” said Benny.

“Oh that’s all right. Thanks for all your help, Benny.” Xavier gave him a grateful smile.

“Don’t mention it!” Benny responded, “Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any problem concerning Rosangela’s health!”

“All right.” Xavier’s head nodded in understanding.

“Well, I’d better be going now,” said Benny.

“Come on! I will see you out,” Xavier offered.

“Okay.” Benny nodded in agreement.

Al last, Xavier saw Benny out. The two friends then walked to Benny’s car that was parked outside the palace.

Benny opened the door. Before he got into the car, Benny leaned over and whispered something in Xavier’s ear, “Xavier, I think you ought to apologize to Angela. You can’t blame her for lying to you. She must be scared that you’re going to harm her if you find out her real identity.”

Xavier thought for a bit before saying, “You’re right, Benny. I think I ought to apologize to Angela.”

“OK then, see you, Xavier!” Benny waved and finally climbed into the driver’s seat.

Xavier waved back. “Bye, Benny!”

The prince watched as Benny’s car drove off until it was out of sight before he walked back into the palace. Afterwards, Xavier went straight to his bedroom to check on Rosangela.

Once he got there, Xavier was surprised to find that the room was empty.

“Angela?” he called, but there was no answer.

Prince Xavier searched for Rosangela in the bathroom, but she wasn’t there. Next, he looked for her in the walk-in closet, but he couldn’t find her there either.

“Darn it! Where is she going?” Xavier cursed under his breath.
