Chapter 25
After driving for about 45 minutes, we finally arrived at the mall.
I unbuckled my seat belt and was about to get out of the car, but Prince Xavier held me back. “Wait, Angela!”
“What’s wrong?” I asked.
Unexpectedly, he cupped my face in his hand and threatened me, “Before we go into the mall, I want to remind you, Angela. You have to behave! And don’t you dare run away! If you try to escape, I’ll punish you in the way that you can’t even imagine. Understood?”
I pushed his hand away. “Dont worry, Xavier! I won’t bother trying to run away because I know that you will eventually catch me again.”
“That’s right. I won’t try to run away. At least not now. I have to get Randolph out of the dungeon first, so that we can escape together,” I added in my mind.
I thought my words would satisfy him, but to my surprise, it enraged him instead.
“Oh Angela, how many times do I have to tell you to address me as master?” he asked angrily.
“And how many times do I have to tell you that I will never ever call you that?” I talked back.
“Fine. I’m tired of arguing with you. When it’s just us, you may call me by my name. But when we are in front of my parents and the others, you must address me as master. Do I make myself clear?” he said firmly.
“Yeah, whatever. Can we get out of the car now? I can’t wait to go shopping,” I said impatiently.
“Women,” he mumbled to himself before he opened the door and swung himself out of the car.
I grinned in victory while opening my door and climbing out of the car.
“Let’s go!” I skipped towards the entrance of the mall.
Prince Xavier could catch up with me easily.
Entering the mall, I looked around the place excitedly. I asked Prince Xavier to take me to a cheap clothes store, but he wanted us to go to an expensive store. Of course, how could I refuse such a good offer?
“Pick any clothes that you like!” Prince Xavier said once we set foot in the store.
I stood on tiptoe and whispered in his ear, “I don’t have to pay for anything, right? Because I don’t have any money now.”
He chuckled. “Don’t worry! I’ll buy everything for you, Little Pet!”
I felt my hackles rise when I heard Prince Xavier calling me ‘Little Pet’, but I checked my anger. I didn’t want Prince Xavier to change his mind about buying me new clothes.
Prince Xavier waited for me by the cash desk while I was looking through the racks of clothes. When I looked at the price of a T-shirt, my eyes went wide.
“€70 for a T-shirt? What a rip-off!” I thought. However, since I didn’t have to pay for anything, so I wouldn’t care about the price.
I grabbed everything that caught my eye, such as: dresses, blouses, shirts, T-shirts, coats, sweaters, jackets, cardigans, blazers, pyjamas, nightdresses, tank tops, overalls, trousers, jeans, sweatpants, skirts, even underwears, and put all of them into the bags that one of the shop assistants gave me. Once finished, I marched over to the cash desk and set the bags on the counter.
“Are you trying to rob me, Angela?” Prince Xavier yelled after he saw all of those bags.
Prince Xavier’s words rang a bell. I remembered that I had ever heard Prince Maximilian saying the same sentence a year ago.
“How is Maximilian doing right now? Is he okay? I hate to admit it. But I think I miss Maxim now,” I thought.
“Why do you choose so many clothes?” Prince Xavier added.
“Fine. I’ll only have this one,” I said sadly as I took a pink mini dress and handed it to the cashier.
“Hey, I am just kidding. You may buy as many as you want. You can even get the whole store if you want,” said Prince Xavier.
“No. This is enough for me,” I refused.
“But you’ll be staying with me for a long time, Angela, so you’ll need more clothes,” he said.
“Okay then I’ll have this one, this one, this one, this one, this one, this one, this one, this one, this one, and this one,” I said while pointing to a dress, a shirt, a blouse, a T-shirt, a jacket, a sweater, a pair of pyjamas, a pair of trousers, a pair of jeans, and a skirt.
“You heard her, right? Make it quick!” Prince Xavier talked to the cashier.
The young woman behind the counter nodded and began to scan the items that I chose.
“Wait outside while I pay for your clothes!” Prince Xavier ordered.
Nodding my head, I stomped out of the clothes store and waited for him by the door.
A few minutes later, the vampire prince stepped out of the store with two shopping bags. He came over to me and shoved those shopping bags into my hands.
“Let’s go to the next store!” He started walking.
Following behind him, I said, “Can’t we just go home now? I don’t want to buy anything else.”
“You still need shoes. After we get you new shoes, we’ll go home soon,” he stated.
“Fine.” I pouted.
We went to a store that sold expensive shoes. I picked a pair of slip-on shoes, a pair of ankle boots, a pair of sneakers, a pair of high-heeled shoes, a pair of flip-flops, and at last a pair of slippers. Prince Xavier bought them all for me.
After that, we returned to the kingdom of Nightshades. As soon as we entered the palace, Prince Xavier and I went our separate ways. I retired to my bedroom, meanwhile, I didn’t know where the prince was going, not that I cared at all either.
When I opened my bedroom door, I gasped to find a lot of shopping bags on my bed. Dropping the shopping bags that I was carrying on to the floor, I came over to the bed. I took one of the mysterious shopping bags and peered in. Inside the shopping bag were the clothes that I chose when we were at the mall.
“Oh Prince Xavier is so annoying! I’ve told him that I didn’t want to buy all of these clothes, but he still bought all of them for me without me knowing,” I grumbled.
“I have to give them back to him,” I decided.
I carried all of those bags out of my room. Then, I strode down the hallway and rushed out of the slave quarters. Afterwards, I headed towards the lift. Yes, I decided to take the lift because there’s no way I could climb up the stairs while carrying all of these bags.
I looked around the hallway. When I was sure that the coast was clear, I pressed a button and waited for the lift. As soon as the doors opened, I went into the lift and pushed the button for the top floor where Prince Xavier’s bedroom was. The doors closed and the lift began to ascend.
A moment later, the doors finally opened and I stepped out. I hurried towards Prince Xavier’s bedroom. On arriving there, I rapped angrily on the door.
“Who’s there?” Prince Xavier asked from the other side of the door. He sounded annoyed.
“It’s me Angela,” I answered.
“Come in, Angela!” he commanded.
I pushed the door open. Prince Xavier, who was sitting at his desk, rose to his feet and marched over to me.
“What’s wrong, Angela?” he asked.
Instead of answering him, I threw the bags that I was carrying on to the floor angrily.
“Why did you buy all of those clothes?” I demanded.
“Those are the clothes that you want, so I bought them for you,” he replied calmly.
“Who says I want all of it? I told you I didn’t need them,” I scoffed.
“It’s not up to you to decide. You’re my pet, so I can buy you everything that I want,” he stated.
I was tempted to answer back, but I restrained myself. It was no use arguing with Prince Xavier because I knew that I would always lose the argument at the end.
“Now take these bags back to your room and I won’t take no for an answer!” he ordered.
I threw my hands up in the air. “Fine. I’ll keep these clothes. But it only because you force me, not because I want to.”
To tell you the truth, I also wanted to keep the clothes because those were branded clothes. But Xavier didn’t have to know about it.
“Of course!” He smirked.
I bent forward to pick up the shopping bags. Without saying another word, I spun on my heel and stormed out of the room, crashing the door shut behind me.
I made my way towards the lift and pressed the botton. Once the doors opened, I stepped in and quickly pushed the button for the bottom floor. The lift descended and came to a halt after a few moments. When the doors opened, I walked out, and lastly I returned to my bedroom.
