Rosangela: The Half-Blood Princess

Chapter 48

After we had breakfast, they told me to wait in the living room while they went upstairs. They said only after they returned here, I would be allowed to go home. So I didn’t have a choice but to wait for them patiently.

Sitting on the sofa, I leaned my head against the headrest. It’s been more than half an hour since they left, but they hadn’t returned yet. Bored, I started humming my favorite song softly to myself.

A few minutes later, finally, I heard the sound of footsteps on the stairs and it’s getting closer. The moment I saw Adolph, Ivan, and Randolph walking through the door, I stood up.

“Here! I have put your ballgown, shoes, and jewellery in this backpack.” Alpha Adolph Wolfgang handed me a small red backpack.

“Thanks,” I said.

“You’d better put on these shoes. It will be uncomfortable if you have to wear your high-heeled shoes.” Randolph put a pair of blue flat shoes on the floor in front of me.

“Okay.” I quickly took off the slippers and slipped the shoes Randolph gave me on.

“And wear this jacket too! It’s getting cold outside.” Ivan gave me a denim jacket.

“Alright.” I put on the jacket and lastly carried the backpack on my back.

“Okay, I’m ready to go now,” I stated.

“Are you sure you want to go back to the vampire kingdom, Rosanne?” Ivan asked. Anxiety was written all over his face.

'Honestly, no, I don't want to go back there,' I answered inwardly, 'But then where shall I go? I am in Romania now. It is very far away from my home. Even if I manage to go back to London, I can't return to my adopted parents' house because I don't want to endanger them.'

“Of course,” I lied.

“You know, you can stay here with us if you want. You don’t have to go back to the vampire kingdom,” Ivan offered sincerely.

“No, I don’t want to stay in a house full of strangers. I prefer to go back to the vampire kingdom and live with my grandfather,” I refused.

I didn’t know why Ivan looked sad and disappointed with my refusal.

“Alright. If you really want to go back to the vampire kingdom, we appreciate your decision,” Adolph said.

“May I leave now?” I asked.

“Sure,” he responded, “Come on, I’ll see you to the door.”

Alpha Adolph Wolfgang, Ivan, and Randolph finally escorted me to the front door.

“You’re free to go now.” Alpha Adolph unlocked the door, revealing a track with trees at the either side.

“Thanks for everything. I hope we never meet again. Goodbye,” I said.

Without waiting for their response, I stormed out of the house.

“Rosanne, Wait!” Alpha Adolph shouted after me.

I ceased walking and spun around angrily. “What else?”

“Will you be able to make your own way to the vampire kingdom?” he inquired.

'He is right. I really don't have idea where I am right now. So I don't know how I can return to the vampire kingdom,' I thought.

“Can you tell me how to get back to the vampire kingdom?” I asked.

Before Adolph could give me the direction, Ivan said first, “It’s too far to walk. I’ll take you by car.”

“No, thanks,” I refused, “I can walk home.”

“Don’t be silly! It’s much too far,” Randolph snapped at me.

“So how far is it to the vampire kingdom from here?” I inquired.

“The vampire kingdom is two hours away from here,” Alpha Adolph replied.

“Okay, it’s only two hours away. I think I still can manage to walk there,” I said.

“By car,” Randolph added with a smirk.

“What?” My eyes widened in surprise.

“Yes,” Ivan said, “So it means it will take hours to get there if you go on foot.”

I gulped. “Is there any shortcut there?”

Adolph shook his head. “It’s too bad, there’s no any shortcut, Rosanne.”

'Just my luck!' I thought.

“So do you still want to walk there, Rosanne?” Randolph mocked me.

“Fine. You can drive me to the vampire kingdom, Ivan. However, it’s not because I want to go with you, but because I don’t have other choices.”

“Alright. Let’s go!” Ivan pulled a key out of his pocket and started making his way towards a car that was parked in front of the house.

I followed after him to the car.

Ivan opened the passenger side door. As soon as, I got into the car, he shut the door. Afterwards, he walked around the car, and finally hopped into the driver’s seat. Without wasting time, Ivan put the key into the ignition and started the engine.

“See you, Rosanne.” Randolph waved his hand to me as the car began to draw away.
