Rosangela: The Half-Blood Princess

Chapter 30

“Are you still angry with me, Princess?” Prince Maximilian asked me for the umpteenth time on our way back to the palace.

Ignoring the vampire prince, I kept looking out of the window. Yeah, I was angry with Maximilian right now. Firstly, I was absolutely angry at having been deceived by him. All this time, Maximilian had known that I would try to escape, but he acted as if he didn’t know anything. Secondly, because he had read my mind without my permission. And lastly, because Prince Maximilian and his bodyguard, Jasper, had laughed at me.

“Please don't be angry with me, Mirabelle! I was only teasing. I’m so sorry. Please forgive me!” Prince Maximilian tried calming me down but it enraged me even more instead.

“How many times do I have to tell you not to call me with that name again? My name is not Mirabelle, but Rosangela, Rosanne for short,” I snarled.

“Oh I’m sorry, Rosanne. I forgot. Please stop being angry with me, okay?” he persuaded me, but I paid no heed at what he said.

“If you forgive me, I promise I will take you to meet your adopted family in London after we get married. What do you think?” Maximilian tried to entice me.

His promise sounded very enticing. However, I refused to let myself to be persuaded by his false hopes.

“Who says I want to marry you?” I retorted.

“It’s the only way, Rosanne. I can’t do anything now because King Bellamy is still your guardian. But after we get married, you will become my responsibility, and then we're free to do anything that you want, and the king can’t stop us,” he reasoned.

“Fine. I agree to marry you, but only because you promise to take me back to London after we get married,” I said reluctantly.

Prince Maximilian beamed from ear to ear. “Thank you, Princess. You don't know how happy I am when you finally agree to marry me.”

“But you won't go back on your word, will you?” I narrowed my eyes at him suspiciously.

“Don't worry, Princess! Prince Maximilian is a man of his word,” Jasper chipped in, trying to convince me.

“Because Jasper who it, I begin to doubt it,” I commented which succeeded in making Jasper frown.

Ignoring my sarcasm, Prince Maximilian said, “Jasper is right. You don't have to worry, Princess. I promise I'm going to take you to London to meet your adopted family after we get married— cross my heart and hope to die.”

“Fine. I trust you. But if you dare to break your promise, I'll never ever forgive you, Maximilian,” I said with emphasis.

“Because you have put your trust in me, I definitely will not let you down, Princess,” Prince Maximilian convinced me with a captivating smile, and I couldn't help but smile back at him.

After about 30 minutes, we finally reached the Kingdom of Clanbella.

Jasper hopped out of the car straight away and opened the back door for us.

I and Prince Maximilian thanked him as we hopped out of the car.

Jasper only replied with a nod before he hurried to the trunk, opened it, and pulled out all of my shopping bags.

“Jasper, please bring Rosanne’s shopping bags that consists of clothes and shoes to her bedroom, meanwhile for the snacks, take them to the kitchen!” Prince Maximilian ordered.

“No,” I disagreed, “you should take the snacks to my room too, Jasper, because I don’t want my food get contaminated by blood.”

Prince Maximilian rolled his eyes. “You heard her, Jasper. Bring everything to her room now!”

“Alright, Your Highness.” Jasper bowed his head and in a blink of an eye he disappeared.

I gasped with surprise. “Oh God he scared me!”

“Don’t worry! You’ll get used to it soon.” Prince Maximilian reassured me with a grin.

“Yeah, I hope I will get used to it soon or else I can get a heart attack if he keeps doing that in front of me,” I grumbled.

The prince chuckled. “Let’s go inside, shall we? It’s getting late.”

I nodded. “Okay.”

Prince Maximilian and I walked into the palace. Unexpectedly, we were welcomed by Sigmund. From his expression, I knew that he was furious right now. Suddenly, I had an uneasy feeling that something bad was going to happen here.
