Rosangela: The Half-Blood Princess

Chapter 27

15 minutes later, at last, Star Department Store came into view. Jasper turned our car on to the department store and drove along until we found a parking space.

Once he had parked the car, I hopped out of the car quickly. Prince Maximilian and Jasper got out of the car after me.

When we entered the mall, everyone was staring at us. Well, they looked at me to be precise. Maybe they thought that I was weird wearing ballgown to the mall. Yeah, I agreed with them this time, so I chose to ignore their gazes. But Prince Maximilian was apparently offended. He glared at every person who dared stare at me until they all looked away.

Before shopping, we walked around the department store for a while. It wasn’t as big as the department stores that I usually visited in London. But it was quite complete. There were many clothes and shoes stores, some jewellery stores, even there was also a supermarket named ‘Billa’ in the basement.

Finally, we went into a clothes store. While I was looking through the racks of clothes, Prince Maximilian and Jasper waited near the counter.

Since I didn’t have to pay for anything, I thought I could take advantage of this. So I grabbed everything that I liked in the store, such as: short and long sleeves shirts, blouses, T-shirts, overalls, sweaters, jackets, coats, blazers, mini and long skirts, shorts, trousers, jeans, pyjamas, dresses, socks, stockings, pantyhoses, and I didn’t forget to take panties and bras too.

“Hey, hey, are you trying to rob me?” Prince Maximilian complained when he saw the piles of clothes that I put on the counter.

I crossed my arms over my chest and mocked him, “I think because you’re a prince, you’re rich. But actually you’re so poor that you can’t buy me all of these.”

“It’s not about money, Princess. I can buy this whole department store if you want. But the problem is, do you really need all of these?” He pointed to the piles of clothes on the counter. “Why waste money on clothes you don’t need?”

“Who says I don’t need all of these clothes? You know, since Grandpa wants me to stay with him, so I need all of these clothes. Because I have nothing to wear in his palace,” I reasoned.

Prince Maximilian’s jaw dropped. “You have a large walk-in closet full of clothes in your bedroom and you still say that you have nothing to wear?”

Jasper chuckled and then tapped Prince Maximilian on the shoulder. “That’s what a girl always says, Sir.”

“You can say that again, Jasper.” I grinned.

Prince Maximilian sighed. “Okay. I’ll pay for all of these clothes now. Is there anything else that you need?”

“Yes. I need to buy some pairs of shoes, makeup, toiletries, and also some snacks,” I answered.

He frowned. “Snacks?”

“Well, I don’t want to starve myself again just because they don’t have human food at the palace,” my voice dropped to a whisper.

He rolled his eyes. “Okay, let’s go! We have to hurry before the mall closed.”

Prince Maximilian finally paid for all of my clothes using his credit card. Before leaving the store, I changed first into pink sweater and black jeans in the fitting room.

After that, we went to a shoes store. Just like when we were at the clothes store, Prince Maximilian and Jasper sat down on a bench near the counter while I looked through the racks of shoes.

I took some pairs of flat shoes, sneakers, sandals, and high heels. Prince Maximilian complained again. But he still bought everything I wanted. And then I quickly took of my high heels and put on a new pair of black sneakers.

Leaving the shoes store, we bought some make up and toiletries. And after that, we went to the supermarket in the basement to buy some snacks and soft drinks.

When we’re done shopping, we had 25 shopping bags full of clothes, shoes, make up, toiletries, snacks and soft drinks. Prince Maximilian and Jasper carried all the shopping bags for me.

Actually, I felt bad for making Prince Maximilian spend so much money for me. I planned to run away tonight which meant I wouldn’t need everything he had bought for me.

But I pushed the guilt aside. I didn’t want to be a prisoner forever. No matter what happened, I had to escape and somehow find a way to go home.

'Wait! Maybe if I could go to the UK Embassy, they would help me return to London as soon as possible.' An idea suddenly popped in my mind.

'Yeah, that’s a good idea! So the plan is I am going to escape from Maximilian and Jasper and then I have to find a way to get to UK Embassy,' I thought.

“So where do you want to go after this?” Prince Maximilian’s brought me out of my reverie.

“I’m hungry. So let’s find something to eat!” I replied.

“Okay. I heard there is a nice café at the rooftop of this mall. Let’s go there, shall we?” he .

I shook my head. “No, I don’t want to go there. I want to eat in a restaurant.”

“Alright. Which restaurants do you want to go?” he asked.

“I don’t have idea. I’ve never been to Brasov, remember? Why don’t you ask people again?” I suggested.

“Fine. We will ask people on the way,” he said. “Let’s go!”

We exited the department store and returned to our car in the car park. Afterwards, we’re going to look for a restaurant to have dinner. And I was ready to execute my escape plan there.
