Rosangela: The Half-Blood Princess

Chapter 23

I paced back and forth in my bedroom, waiting for Prince Maximilian to come back impatiently. He had gone to talk to the king for more than 30 minutes, but he hadn’t returned yet. I wondered what took him so long. Did he get into trouble because of my request?

Another 10 minutes went by, and finally the door flew open. Prince Maximilian stepped in. He wore expressionless look on his face.

“How is it?” I asked him nervously.

Prince Maximilian’s face broke into a smile. “Guess what, Princess? We’re allowed to leave this castle without your bodyguards.”

“Really?” I wanted to make sure.

He nodded. “Sure.”

I hugged him. “Thank you, My Future Husband. You’re the best.”

He hugged me back. “Anytime, Princess. Anytime.”

I let go of him.

“Okay, let’s go!” he reached out his hand to me.

“Wait! I need to get changed first,” I said.

“I think you don’t have to change. You look very beautiful in that gown,” he commented.

“Do you expect me to wear a ball gown outside? No way. What will they think about me?” I said.

Prince Maximilian narrowed his eyes. “Who do you mean by ‘they’?”

“They: people, of course,” I replied.

The prince looked surprised. “Wait! Did you mean human?”

“Oh yeah I forgot you’re not human.” I hit my forehead gently.

“So do you want to go to the human world?”

“Of course. Where do you think I wanna go?”

“But I thought when you asked me to take you out, you just want to look around this kingdom not go to human world.”

“Look around this kingdom?” I laughed. “You must be kidding me. What can I see in this kingdom? Vampires? Blood? Trees? I told you I wanted to eat out. Do you know what the word ‘eat out’ mean? It means I want to eat outside such as in restaurant, café, or anywhere outside this place. And when I said eat, I mean I want to eat edible food not blood. Do you understand?”

“But the king will kill me if he finds out I am going to take you to the human world.”

“Then don’t let him know! It is that simple, isn’t it?”

“But he is the king. He will know everything that happens in his kingdom. And we’ll get into big trouble because of that.”

“We won’t get into trouble if you can shut your big mouth. Got it?” I said firmly.

He put his hands in the air. “Fine. You won.”

“Okay, wait for me outside! I want to get ready first,” I ordered.

“Okay.” Prince Maximilian then walked out of my bedroom and closed the door after him.

'I can’t believe it! I’ve just fooled a prince of vampire. How could that vampire believe me that easy? But it doesn’t matter. The most important is that stupid vampire will help me get out of this place now,' I thought happily.
