Richest Mogul

Chapter 1376

Three days later, Paul saw Joe again after more than three years. His eyes were bloodshot, and the scars on his face had faded considerably after treatment at the hospital, while others that couldn't be diminished were being arranged for cosmetic surgery. Realizing his scars might look frightening, he quickly turned his back and said, "Mr. Martin, I'm so happy to see you."

"Is it true that Ned, who was captured with you back then, is dead?" Joe asked.

Paul nodded and said, "Yes, he died. He was caught when we tried to escape and was beaten to death. He did resemble you, but his personality was a bit weaker, so it was only at first glance that someone might mistake him for you."

Joe's gaze darkened. Noticing Paul avoiding his eyes, he added, "You can turn around. You won't scare me."

Hearing his words, Paul felt a bit anxious but still turned around.

"Do you think you can recover enough to work with me in a month?" Joe asked.

Paul's eyes widened slowly. "Mr. Martin? Have you regained your memory? I thought they said you had amnesia?"

Joe chuckled lightly. "Does amnesia interfere with work?"

"Uh, no, it doesn't." Paul felt a surge of energy coursing through him. His mental state had indeed improved during this time.

A couple of days ago, Skylar said Joe was back, and Paul was anxious about how to face him. But now, it felt like all those pretentious emotions had vanished.

He had researched the current state of the Martin Group. Over the past three years, the current CEO had almost completely transformed the organization. Therefore, returning to the Martin Group wouldn't be easy.

It was going to be a tough battle, but the harder the fight, the more necessary the challenge became.

...

A month later, Jipsburg was stirred up again. Joe, who had been rumored to have died in an accident three years ago in Murida, had returned. Today, he held a press conference.

Joe's commanding presence was as striking as ever. He provided a reasonable explanation for his three-year absence, stating that he had suffered from amnesia due to a car accident and had been mistaken for Ned.

Now that he had regained his memory, he was back in Jipsburg. Ned's recent reappearance had sparked considerable discussion.

At that time, some dreamers were posting online, crafting a story that resembled a novel plot. They imagined a scenario where Joe lost his memory, became Ned, and managed to stand at the pinnacle of success once again. No matter who he became, they believed he had the talent and strength to rise back to the top.

Currently, the most anxious individuals were those in control of the Martin Group over the past few years.

Meanwhile, the Martin family branch led by Ernest, which had been quiet for over three years, began to stir with plans following Joe's return.

Many were speculating whether Joe would reclaim his position at the Martin Group. Of course, no matter how capable Joe was, the Martin Group had changed significantly since three years ago.

As people wondered about Joe's next steps and the impending upheaval within the Martin Group, others took a different approach. They sought out Joe's fiancée, Lizzie. Numerous paparazzi converged on her right after she had finished participating in a talent show. Lizzie was aware that Joe was alive and had met with Skylar a few days ago. She thought Joe's experiences were incredibly tortuous and inspiring, sparking her creativity.

However, she never expected some reporters to be so keen on tracking her down.

It suddenly dawned on her that she was Joe's fiancée over three years ago.

Faced with a crowd of reporters, she felt utterly flustered. She hadn't even spoken to Joe or Skylar yet; she didn't know how to respond.
