Chapter Chapter thirty-nine
Phoenix roared as she watched her family walk away, rage burning inside her like incandescent lava. She and Boox were determined to resist. They fought fiercely, confronting the wolves that leapt at them. Dionysus and Apollo, at the other end, wanted to help Phoenix, but they were busy supporting the warriors still standing. The distance prevented them from reaching them in time.
Pyrrhus, witnessing Cronus' abduction, felt his fury rising. He transformed into a brown wolf and rushed at his brother. But Fenix intercepted him, knocked him to the side and passed control to Freya, who growled. "Where do you think you're going, you bastard? You think you can wreak havoc and get away with it?"
In Freya's eyes, a deep disgust for the man who had brought misfortune into her life, she squinted as she watched him revert to his human form. She picked up a sword lying on the ground with a defiant cry. "If you're so brave and don't hide behind your minions, why don't you fight us?"
Dionysus, understanding the situation, didn't hesitate to assume his wolf form. Even though Boox frightened him, he realized it was his duty to join him in the fight. It was clear to him that he had to protect Freya for his friend's sake; he knew that Crono wouldn't forgive him if anything happened, and he could help.
Pyrrhus, amazed by Freya's fighting prowess, feels a mixture of admiration and desire. Although he hesitated to fight her, he didn't want to be considered a coward. So he planned to engage Freya in a duel and distract her, then call in his men to capture her.
Freya stared at Pyrrhus, who was trying to persuade her with honeyed words.
"Freya, my dear love, you're more beautiful than the last time I saw you at the temple. You're a magnificent being. Let's not fight. Come with me, join me. I'll take care of you and our little ones. I promise you'll be happy to rule these lands by my side. Crono is not a good leader, as you've seen, he's already fallen in battle. How pathetic that wolf is."
"You're a dirty snitch, Pirro. Where did you get the idea I'd go with you? First dead than let you put your filthy paws on my body, you dirty pervert. I'll give you a painful death." His contempt is evident in every word.
"You're ungrateful. Kill Crono for us so you're not tied to your mate. No one will love you as much as I do. No matter how much you hate me, my love is for both of us. Don't make me fight you. I wouldn't want to hurt you." Pyrrhus tried to persuade her, seeing her finish off his men, he knew she was a worthy rival.
"I would never, ever love my mother's murderer," Freya replied firmly. She stretched out her arm and made a swift move against Pyrrhus. Pyrrhus dodged the attack nimbly and deftly defended himself against each blow. "Surrender to me, Freya, and I'll put an end to this massacre. You must only be my moon, the most beautiful she-wolf in the land of wolves," cried Pyrrhus grimly, trying to break her with his words as the sound of swords echoed through the hall. Freya swung her sword quickly and swiftly, cutting Pyrrhus's left hand. Pyrrhus dropped the sword and cried out in pain.
"I'll show you who I am," vociferated Pyrrhus, looking at his fighters. "Catch her, but don't kill her; she'll suffer as much, if not more, than her mother."
Freya began to defend herself against the approaching men. Just then, the orcs arrived, accompanied by Isis and the wounded Bastian. As the orcs pushed the Kelpies back, Freya walked with an icy gaze towards Pyrrhus, who was looking at her with fear. When the beasts arrived, Pyrrhus felt the need to flee and ran to one of his vans. Freya spotted him and ran after him, transforming into a phoenix and, with a roar, her icy breath froze Pyrrhus' feet as he tried to climb into the vehicle.
"You coward, where do you think you're going? Did you think I'd let you get away this time?" cried Freya, reverting to her human form.
"Can't you see I've done all this for love? For the love of your mother that was denied me. Your father didn't want her to be mine in the good sense of the word; he touched me the hard way. When she died, I saw you some time later and it was like seeing my destiny companion again. You are my destiny.
"You're a scumbag who made my parents suffer with your evil deeds. Our father made me the alpha of the Sith pack to prevent you from ruining it and our people from starving to death because of you," Agamemnon ranted at the time. But when she found out you were her mate, she was ready to fulfill her destiny. However, the way you abused the omegas of our pack who didn't want to give themselves to you disillusioned her. She couldn't bear to see her friend in heat begging you to have mercy on her because she was Flavia's friend, and you just laughed in her face". Agamemnon spoke sadly: "I was a coward then not to save Rachel from your clutches, only because Flavia, crying, asked me not to intervene so you wouldn't hurt me."
"You've always been a coward, little brother. The omegas are here to serve us. Flavia was the only omega who stood out among all those mangy wolves, but that wretch rejected me in front of everyone, so she had to pay for it!" shouted Pirro, wrinkling his face in pain, he was wounded in one hand and felt a stinging sensation, followed by numbness in his legs almost unable to feel them, "Now get me out of here so we can fight like the wolves we are."
"Don't even think about it." Freya, in one swift motion, severed his entire right hand, knocking him to the ground with a heart-rending cry, "This is for my mother, for your filthy hands that touched her."
"Daughter, let me finish him off, so I can avenge the death of my beloved Flavia. You'd better go to your daughter, she needs you," her father implored with his eyes.
Freya wanted to kill him herself, but she understood her father's pain and left him in charge of Pyrrhus' death. She nodded and hurried out of there. She nodded and hurried out of there. Arriving at the indicated tent, he rushed inside and found his daughter sitting next to Cronus, watching his wound close.
"Mommy, Mommy!" ran Metis to her, "Mister Crono is healed now; Aunt Isis gave him a lady potion and healed him."
"Miss, I'm Jimena," the she-wolf continued with a warm smile, "Miss Isis gave me a concoction for alpha and gamma. Both have sealed their wounds, they'll soon be able to stand up."
Freya picked up her daughter and lifted her into her arms, and as she hugged her, she said.
"Never, Métis, but never disappear from my life again without my permission. Do you understand? I'll die if anything happens to you and your brothers."
"Freya, thank you for..." expressed Crono in a weak voice as he coughed, "coming to help us."
"How could you, Cronus, not protect our children? Leave Metis in this chaos."
"You admit they're our children? And when were you going to tell me we had puppies, Freya? You owe me a lot of explaining."
Freya swallowed hard, she knew she was out in the open, but at that moment she only cared about her children.
"Stop fighting here, you'll have time to settle your differences for the sake of this brave puppy," Bastian said painlessly, moving his leg normally, "now it's my turn to go and find this witch who also saved us. "Aunt Isis, her name is Aunt Isis, she's not a witch," said the little girl, pouting.
