Chapter Chapter forty-five
Freya was frightened; fear gripped her body at the thought of not knowing how Crono would react when he saw her. Even if he already knew she was his mate, this necklace prevented him from claiming her as his own. After leaving the bathroom, he noticed her puppies sleeping peacefully. She kissed them tenderly and lay down on the sofa, falling asleep in her thoughts.
Crono arrived at the mansion in a sweat, bewildered by the sensations that were overtaking him. Typhoon grunted in despair.
"She's our companion, don't let her get away. I want to mark her," he said, baring his fangs; Crono made an uncontrollable effort not to lose control.
With hurried strides, he climbed the stairs, his heart pounding in anguish. When he arrived, he opened the door to find Freya asleep on the sofa, her legs bent. Using his supernatural power, he tried to calm his she-wolf. After a few seconds of watching her, he muttered.
"You owe me a lot of explaining, Freya, you'll pay for every day you stayed hidden and deprived me of my cubs," he bowed, carried her carefully and left the room, leading her to his. Shivers ran through his body; he wanted to mark her urgently, but would wait until she awoke. Arriving in her room, he carefully laid her down, placed a chair in front of the bed and sat down.
Freya awoke, enveloped in an odor that disturbed her. She sat up, stretched out her hands and noticed how comfortable the bed was. Her eyes opened and she leaned forward, discovering Crono sitting opposite her with an icy stare. A cold sweat ran down her spine, she swallowed hard and her trembling lips only managed a whisper.
"Crono, what am I doing here? I'm not going to let you use me as you please, you're still just a bullying wolf ...." he couldn't finish speaking because Crono suddenly stood up, his eyebrows furrowed, the veins on his bulging forehead showing, "Don't you dare do anything to me, let's talk first".
Crono didn't want to talk; like a hunter, he mounted her carefully, starting at her feet and working his way up. Arriving in front of her, he began to sniff her.
"Crono, you're scaring me. Come down. I won't let you raise your hand to me or I'll kill you." Freya pulled the words from the back of her throat, placed her hands on his chest, desperately trying to push him away. But her efforts were in vain, as if she were pushing against an impenetrable wall. Freya's skin bristled at the feel of Crono's head on her neck, licking it with an intensity that left her breathless, "Don't you dare, Crono, don't you dare...." a piercing pain shot through her, feeling something dig into her pale skin. Her scream echoed through the room, but it wasn't a moan of pain, but an overwhelming mix of frustration and pleasure.
Crono was ecstatic, tasting Freya's blood in his mouth. After biting her, he began to lick her wound. Then he raised his cold gaze, and his eyes as dark as night planted themselves in hers.
"You'll never escape me again, Freya. I can't forgive you that my sons had no connection with their father. I won't let you deprive our little ones of being recognized as the rightful heirs of this pack. Besides, you've spent too much time away from me, and we need to strengthen our ties. Now that I've marked you, you'll be subject to my demands."
"You're a fool, Crono, how can you even think of complaining to me? The day you were with your dear Palas, I was poisoned by her and her cousin. Thanks to my friends, I was able to escape and save my little ones."
"Damn you, Pallas, she'll pay for all the damage she's done to our lives!" cried Crono through gritted teeth, "But that doesn't give you the right to keep me from my children. Answer me this, why couldn't I mark you before, and why didn't I have a bond with my little ones?"
"I wasn't going to let myself be branded by a man who considered us traitors. I only came here to clear my father's name and take revenge on those who wanted to humiliate me." She challenged him with her eyes: "Or are you now going to deny that you loved Palas? Don't take me for a fool, Crono, the first thing you did when you saw her was to bring her into this house."
"I won't deny that Palas knew how to get to my heart. This she-wolf knew how to deceive me easily, and I fell into her trap, for what she seemed to be: a fragile, submissive and loving she-wolf. Yes, I loved her at the time, but since you came into my life, I've realized that what I felt for her wasn't love, but with you it was different. Ever since I saw you enter the temple, beautiful and haughty, my soul has never stopped listening to you. From that day on," he grimaced, "my life began to make sense. I was living with a she-wolf who sought to challenge and antagonize me. You drive me crazy, Freya, you're the only she-wolf I love."
"You're a liar, Crono; she's the reason you were able to banish me!" she cried through clenched teeth, then her eyes widened as she realized this had happened in her previous life.
"How? I'd never hurt you, Freya; I'd punish you? Yes! But to hurt you, no! You are the mother of my little ones, and from this day forward, I will be your faithful devotee."
A flood of tears ran down Freya's face; she didn't want to forgive him, for she had suffered for him in both her lives. She tried with all her might to push him away, but she felt weak against him, while the alpha stood firm as a rock. She let out a cry of frustration.
"You got what you wanted: mark me! Now get off. I'm going to another room, I don't want to be with you."
"You're not moving from here, because from now on, you're going to sleep next to me. He said it in an authoritative tone.
"I'll sleep wherever I want, and I don't want to be next to you."
"With the right to be your mate and the father of our puppies."
"Curse you Crono, don't impose things on me," at that very moment, he felt the mark throb and his body began to heat up.
"What do you think, Freya? Typhon has surrendered at Phoenix's feet, and now they want to mate." He looked at her with a perverse smile, which angered Freya and caused her to beat her chest, but Crono nimbly took both her hands and brought them above her head.
