Rejected My Cheating Alpha Novel by C. Jacobs

Chapter 2

Alpha Derick and I met in high school when I was a weak omega, looked down upon by everyone.

Back then, teachers avoided me, and I sat in the last row, as I was the lowest rank in the pack.

Alpha Derick, on the other hand, was the God’s favored one, always sitting in the front row, with everyone’s eyes on him.

However, at the ball on my eighteenth birthday, my wolf awakened, and his fated mate turned out to be me!

At that time, I couldn’t even imagine a future with this exalted person, let alone being his Luna, so I dared not approach him.

Until one day, on my way home from school, I was surrounded by a group of rogues in the forest. Just when I was about to despair, Alpha Derick appeared like a deity, driving them away single-handedly.

“Good girl, next time you’re in danger, try not to be so foolish.”

Alpha Derick said, out of breath.

“What’s considered foolish?” I asked, looking at him with wide, curious eyes.

“Running, understand? If you’re being bullied and can’t fight back, just run.”

He looked at me disdainfully before taking me home.

From then on, Alpha Derick started following me often.

My classmates mocked him, calling him my shadow.

He didn’t mind, proudly acknowledging me as his mate. Eventually, we often attended classes together.

Every time I stole a glance at him, his eyes, which had been focused on the lesson, would immediately meet mine.

When our gazes locked, I would instantly turn away, as if I had been caught doing something wrong.

Yet, my cheeks would flush, and I felt as though something was slowly growing in my heart.

In that moment, I even believed we were in love, not just because of the bond but because of who he was, and my wolf felt the same.

Alpha Derick said he had to get closer to me to protect me.

I asked, “How long can you protect me?”

He looked at me kindly and replied, “That depends on you.”

I pondered and asked: “Can it be forever?”

He smiled, without hesitation and with a touch of shyness, said, “Sure.”

I thought life would be long. He was the Alpha, I was the Luna. But when Veronica appeared, everything ended… Everything changed because of Veronica.

“The pack meeting can be held at any time, but Veronica is sick. I can’t ignore her. I won’t be going back tonight. Veronica is upset and needs someone with her.”

“Birthdays are just a formality. You can celebrate with Hadley, but Veronica is home alone…” No matter the time or place, he would drop me for Veronica’s call.

To him, I seemed to have become optional, while Veronica was his true love. He told me more than once that I was an omega and should be content with being Luna, not to make things difficult for him over trivial matters. He only saw Veronica as a sister.

His indulgence toward Veronica led me to gradually lose faith in him.

Yet, I am still grateful to him.

He gave me good genes, allowing me to give birth to such a smart and exceptional son. All I wanted was to be with Hadley and raise him to be the next great Alpha.

For Hadley, I endured for over a decade.

But now, Hadley is dead.

He died because of Alpha Derick’s coldness and cruelty!

I no longer have to worry about anything.

With a heavy heart, I arrived at the Gildon villa.

The Red Moon Pack members were gathered together, the atmosphere lively and joyous.

Alpha Derick and Veronica sat among the crowd, chatting and laughing.

They looked like a very loving couple.

The Red Moon Pack had always adored Veronica.

It seemed only Veronica matched their idea of a Mrs. Gildon.

In their eyes, I was merely a caretaker for Hadley, a weak and deceitful omega. Even the younger members of the Red Moon Pack dared to point fingers and berate me.

I walked in with a stony expression.
