Chapter 472
Chapter 472 Stepping Over His Belly
Reina followed the young man who saved her and walked far away before stopping.
The young man let go of Reina's hand and said, "It should be fine here. Go home."
Reina said gratefully, "Thank you so much just now. I'll treat you to dinner. How should I address you?"
"My name is Osvaldo. No need to treat me to dinner. My volunteer work is not over yet. I have to go back to work later."
Reina then noticed that Osvaldo was wearing a volunteer vest. "Then I won't disturb you. Give me your contact number. I'll treat you to a meal when we have time." "Okay."
Reina was about to use her phone to exchange contact information with Osvaldo when she realized that her bag was missing. It must have been left at the bus stop.
Osvaldo finally noticed it. "Where is the bag? I'll go back with you to find it."
When Osvaldo rushed into the crowd to help, he noticed the bag, but he was in a hurry, so he did not bother to pick it up.
Reina originally did not want to trouble Osvaldo, but she was worried that Edward was still there, so she asked Osvaldo to go back with her.
People at the bus stop were not the same group of people as before, and there was no Reina's bag on the ground.
After looking around and not finding it, Reina asked people at the bus stop, and only then did she know that her bag had been picked up by Edward. Reina thought for a moment, borrowed some money from Osvaldo, and took the bus to the nearby police station.
If Reina went to find Edward herself, she must get herself in trouble, so she needed help.
When Edward returned home, he casually threw Reina's bag on the ground. "Damn, bitch, how dare you hit me! Just wait!"
Just as Edward finished cursing, Reina's phone rang in her bag.
Edward took out the phone and saw that it was an unknown number with no caller ID.
Edward hung up directly, but the call quickly came again.
He thought that Reina was calling to look for something, so he thought about it and answered it.
Reina was in such a hurry to find the phone, so Edward thought he might be able to extort a sum from her.
However, when the call connected, it was not Reina's voice.
"Where are you? I'll pick you up."
The man's voice was steady and magnetic. Edward instantly recognized
that it was the voice of the man who took Reina away that day.
Edward rolled his eyes and suddenly had an idea.
"I'm afraid Reina can't go back with you now."
The voice on the other side of the line paused for a few seconds and then asked in a deep voice, "Why is Reina's phone with you?"
Edward deliberately lowered his voice to make his voice sound threatening. "She asked someone to hit me today. Now I have kidnapped her and brought her home.
"If you want her to go back safely, prepare to give me 80 thousand dollars!"
Edward did not know how much money this man had and was worried that the man would not be willing to spend money for Reina, so Edward asked for a lower price.
As soon as Edward finished speaking, the person on the other side of the line threatened coldly, "Don't touch her."
Through the phone, Edward could imagine the man's extremely cold expression when he said this. Edward suppressed the fear in his heart and continued, "She is my niece. Even if I hit her, no police will arres me. See if I dare to touch her!"
The person on the other side of the line asked, "The address. I will get someone to bring the money over now."
Edward did not expect Jaylon to be willing to pay so much for Reina.
Edward was immediately overjoyed. "I am at my house. Hurry up and bring
the money over."
After Edward reported the address, Jaylon quickly hung up.
Twenty minutes later, there was a knock on the door of Edward's house.
Edward walked over and opened the door.
The man standing at the door was tall and handsome. He asked with a cold face, "Where is Reina?"
Edward blocked the door and did not let Jaylon in. "Give me the money
first."
Jaylon gestured to Trenton behind him. Trenton immediately handed the box with money to Edward.
Edward took the box and his eyes lit up when he saw the neat bills inside.
Edward ran into the room, placed the box on the table, and immediately
began to count the money.
Just as Edward took out a stack of cash and was about to count it, the box
was pressed with a "bang" sound.
Jaylon calmed down and asked, "Where is Reina?"
If this person was not Reina's relative, Jaylon would never ask so kindly.
The last person who threatened Jaylon like this had been buried for several
years.
Edward did not kidnap Reina, so he randomly said an address, "She is in the residential building at Grand Park. You can find her when you go there."
After Edward finished speaking, he reached for the box again.
Jaylon grabbed Edward's collar and said darkly, "Lead the way."
Jaylon was not a fool. Before Jaylon found Reina, Jaylon naturally would
not let Edward go.
Edward did not want to go with Jaylon. If Edward went, Jaylon would
definitely find out that Edward was lying. At that time, Edward would not
get a single cent.
However, Jaylon brought a few people over today. Edward couldn't run now even if he wanted to. Edward could only agree and wait for an opportunity
to escape.
Edward followed Jaylon and the others out. When he reached the stairwell, Edward saw Reina coming up with a few policemen.
When they met on a narrow road, both sides were obviously stunned. Without waiting for everyone to react, Edward carried the box and turned to
run.
Jaylon was the first to react and immediately chased after Edward.
It was an old residential building. The corridor was very short and there was
only one staircase.
Edward quickly ran to the end and there was no way out.
The room Edward lived in was on the third floor and was nearly 15 feet
away from the ground.
Edward panicked and did not have time to hesitate. He directly jumped out
of the window.
If Edward jumped down at this height, he would definitely be crippled.
Almost the moment Edward jumped out of the window, Edward regretted
it.
However, just as Edward jumped out, Jaylon grabbed his arm.
Edward's whole body lost all strength due to fright, and the hand holding
the box loosened, and it fell to the ground one step ahead of Edward.
The box was not tightened, and the cash spilled all over the ground. The passers-by swarmed up to pick up the money.
Seeing that the money that should have belonged to him was picked up by
someone else, Edward immediately shouted, "That's my money! You are not allowed to pick it up!"
However, no one listened. Edward struggled violently again and told Jaylon
to let go of him.
Jaylon's wrist was stuck on the window and his hand was holding Edward,
who was hanging outside the window. Edward was struggling so hard.
Jaylon's wrist rubbed on the window a few times, which caused a red and black wound.
Jaylon frowned and did not wait for others to come over to help. Jaylon
gathered his strength and directly pulled Edward back to the corridor and threw him heavily on the ground.
Edward was hurt by this fall. He felt pain in his bones all over his body and could not stand up, but he was still thinking about his money.
"My money! It has been taken by others! Help me get my money back!"
However, no one responded to Edward.
Jaylon's men all rushed over to check Jaylon's injuries.
When Trenton passed by Edward, he pretended not to see him and directly
stepped over Edward's belly.
