Chapter 26: "You can't be.."
“Wake up Anglia we’re here!” A voice yelled.
I open my eyes to find William near the door of the van. I was stretch out on the van of the floor. I must have fallen asleep without knowing I did. I sat up wiping the sleep from my eyes. Something slid off of me to the floor. I look down to see Williams leather jacket next to me. I look over to see him jumping off the van. I grabbing the jacket I followed after him. We stood in the middle of a garage.
“Just make sure everything is clear then you guys go take a break, I got her,” William told his men.
“You’re sure?” One of them asks him.
“Yes, thanks for the help. I’ll talk to you guys tomorrow.” He told them before nudging me to follow him.
I wave to the men before following after William.
“You care about your men?” I said as a question.
“Yeah, they’re family.” He said pulling a door open waiting for me to go first.
“Well, don’t powerful vampires use weak ones to their advantage?”
“Not all vampires are like that. Those men need someone to look after them and care for them. They never had that before or after turning, so I decided to be that person.”
I nod my head in understanding him “How did Tatrous find these guys.”
“Tatrous don’t care about anyone but himself. He just tells me what they need to do and I relay the message. We’re all here to stay alive Anglia, cause no matter what Tatrous always find a way to find you and kill you. So, I advise you to get on his side or get killed.” He told me before opening a door to a room.
I stare up at him seeing sympathy in his eyes. He’s only here because being on the Tatrous side keeps him alive.
“You’ll be waiting in here until I come back to get you.” He said motioning to the room.
I tilt my head to look into the room. It had one of those beds that they use in prison and a white chair sitting next to it. Those were the only things inside the all white room. I turn to look back up to him.
“Can I get some food?” I ask him noticing how hungry I am.
“Just give me some time and I’ll bring you something to eat. In the mean time eat this to satisfy your stomach.” He said holding out a bag of potato chips and water.
I took them without hesitation “Thanks.”
“The faster you get in there, the faster I come back with food.”
“Thanks for your jacket. You’re not so bad you know.” I told him pushing his jacket onto his chest before walking into the room.
The door shut behind me immediately. I turn to see that the door was bare like the rest of the room. No handle or window to see out of. I let out a sigh before flopping on the bed. I ate the bags of chips in record time before downing the water.
“I’m getting to him,” I mumble to myself.
“Hello!” Sasha’s voice yelled behind me.
“What the hell!” I yell turning to find her right behind me.
“Where are you?” She asks me.
“In a warehouse somewhere. How’s Daniel?” I ask her.
“Daniel is doing well if he’s not blabbing about how worried he’s about you. The rest of us is doing just fine thanks for asking.” She said with sarcasm.
“Sorry, what’s going on?”
“We’re on our way to save you of course. You telling me you’re at a warehouse is the confirmation we need. We’re almost there Anglia just hold out until then.”
“He hasn’t even sent me yet, so I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing,” I told her.
“I don’t know, but if he wants to kill you just try to stall until we get there. OK.” She told me as she fades away
“Yeah, but wait!” I called out to her.
“What!”
“Tell my dad not to kill anyone….”
I was shaken awake knocking me out of the dream with Sasha. I sat up finding William standing next to me with a bag of fast food in his hand. My stomach grumbles at the smell of the food. I reach for the bag hungrily but he moves it away from reach.
“Man,” I said looking up at William in a glare.
“You show do sleep a lot.” He said handing me the bag.
“Yeah, it happens when I’m tired or bored,” I told him eating my burger.
“Hurry up. Tatrous wants to see you.” He said not making eye contact with me.
“What does he want?” I ask seeing if I can get something out of him.
“You’ll find out soon enough.” He said in a whisper.
I didn’t say anything else just focus on finishing up my food. He told me to leave my trash pulling me up to my feet before putting handcuffs on me. He leads me out the room and down the hall without saying a word. The halls were empty from other vampires. I tried to remember the path as we go down the hall the best I could. William finally stops at to steel doors knocking on it.
“You may enter!” A familiar voice yelled behind it.
William pushes the door open pushing me in front of him. Closing the door behind me he grabs me pulling over to where a man and woman stood in front of a huge screen. My mouth drops open when my eyes laid eyes on the man.
“You can’t be..?” I question in shock.
“Hello, Anglia,” Gavin said smiling at me.
