Raging Barons MC – Book Three – Silver

Raging Barons – Silver: Chapter 17

-:- MEAT -:-

There is nothing worse in this world than men that beat on women, for whatever reason. This piece of shit will not get away with this, and I’m just the one to find him and bring him down.

After leaving the hospital and the clubhouse, I check out the parking area of the club. It’s pretty easy to see that Eden is living out of her car. Why is anyone’s guess, but I don’t believe in coincidence, so finding out why could be the start of getting answers as to her ending up in the hospital.

I note Target is entering the back door of the clubhouse, so I make my move, climbing on my hog and taking off before he comes back out. I always work my best hunting on my own. The one I would take with me would be Stitch as we are closer than anyone else has ever been in my life.

Pulling into a pull off area, I take out my cellphone and call an old friend who owes me one. When the call’s picked up I quickly speak, “Meat here, I need you to do me something.”

A few minutes later I know that Eden Hollaway has a step-sister who is now the owner of her parent’s home, after her mother stupidly remarried but didn’t make a will. Seems the stepfather didn’t do what was right and left everything to his daughter, even though he never paid a penny on that house purchase.

Pushing my helmet back on, I make my way to check out this sister and see if we have anything suspicious going on.

As I’m watching the house that this sister is living in, my cell keeps pinging with messages, but my brothers know I’ll not respond until I’m ready. Then I remember I’m part of the club and I answer to the President, who is Axel. Looking at my cell, I see a text message from him, so I check it out. That’s when I decide I need to report to him.

Calling the number, I wait but it’s picked up quickly, “Yeah, what you got Meat?”

“Sister may be involved. I’m checking her out now. If Specs can do a background on her, it may speed things up.”

“I’ll speak to Specs next. I’ll get him to send you what he finds. Make sure you come back here. You need to eat and rest the same as the rest of us. You’ll not do your best tired and hungry.” Axel states firmly.

“I will Pres. I just need to find out something here first, then I’ll come back to the clubhouse.”

Axel sighs, “It’s fucked up Meat, I don’t like women getting hurt. I’m bringing Eden back to the clubhouse to stay, regardless if she likes it or not. She’s been living in her fuckin’ car and that’s not happening on my watch.”

I nod, not thinking that he can’t see that, but I think I’ve found a good man here that leads this MC, and that is what we’ve all been looking for, somewhere we can belong that has the same thinking as we do.

Seeing movement in the house, I step into the cover of the fence I’m standing next to. “Gotta go Pres, I’ll be back soon.” I close out the call and move behind the fence to the position where I’ll be able to see the house and driveway.

A vehicle pulls into her drive and a man climbs out, not the one that I’ve seen on the camera feed unfortunately, but he storms up to the house and hammers on the door. When the step-sister opens the door, he pushes through and I hear the shouting start.

I cannot hear what they are saying so I move away from the fence, quickly cross over and move behind the house, keeping low I want to get under a window if I can as that will be the best way for me to get ears on them.

Hearing the name Eden has my ears perking, but the rest is not distinguishable. It seems the step-sister may have something to do with this.

Peeking over the sill of the window, I can see they are nearly nose to nose and although their voices have lowered, they are still angry at each other. I don’t know what she says, but he backhands her across the face and she falls, but he grips her hair and drags her up, dragging her right out of the house and to the vehicle.

Another vehicle pulls up and three men get out, talking to this asshole before they decide to take the step-sister with them. They all leave and I’m not sure if I should follow the step-sister or the other car with the single man in, so I stay put and when I know they are not coming back, I let myself into the house.

Checking each room downstairs, it’s pretty obvious she is a lazy bitch, as the place is filthy. The kitchen smells horrendous and takeout cartons are all over the counters with mold growing. It’s pretty disgusting.

Climbing upstairs, the place is a wreck, clothes everywhere, the bedroom she obviously is using stinks and there we are, a few pills and some drug paraphernalia. I would think she’s fairly new at the drugs because, looking at her, she didn’t have the look of a worn-out user.

My guess is the man is her dealer and come to collect his money, and they may have taken her to pimp her out to pay the debt. Well, that is up to her. I’m not saving this bitch. My mind is on Eden, and keeping Mia safe.

There is nothing here that shows if this step-sister is involved in what happened to Eden, so for now at least, I’ll leave her alone, but tomorrow I’m going to be looking for the man again. Maybe by the time I get back to the clubhouse Target or someone else may have more information.

I quietly let myself out, get to my hog and ride back to the hospital. I want to check on Eden and Silver before I go back to the clubhouse.

Reaching Eden’s room Mia is sitting talking to her and seeing me, Mia shouts me in. I give them both a nod and stand at the side of the bed. As my eyes taking in Eden’s injuries, my hands fist behind my back and I’m gonna make someone pay for what they’ve done.

“Are you okay Meat?” Mia asks and I look at her, giving her a small smile, just a flick of the lip really, then turn to Eden.

“Eden, do you have any idea who could have done this? They are definitely after you because they tried once, but you were able to get into the club, the second time they did this to you. Can you give me any reason someone would do this?” I ask.

Eden sits up more in the bed, wincing as she does so. Mia jumps to her feet and helps by piling pillows behind Eden’s back and shoulders.

“None, I really don’t know who would do this or why. The only person I have had angry words with is Shirley, my step-sister, and I left the house taking everything I could with me. Honestly, I cannot see her arranging this.”

“Okay, thank you.” I leave the room and make my way out of the hospital, staying alert because I still have a bad feeling something is brewing.

Getting back to my hog I notice a van with a man standing talking on a cellphone and I stop to have a good look at him because he looks familiar, then I realize this is the prick that beat up Eden. I take off running toward him, but he sees me before I can get to him and he jumps into his van and takes off.

I rush back to my bike and quickly slam my helmet on my head and start her up. I tear out of the hospital and follow the van. He’s trying his best to pick up speed, but in the town, he’s going to struggle. He flies through a red light and I just miss a vehicle when I try to follow behind him. By the time I get past and through the light, he’s nowhere to be seen.

I cruise around for a while but I don’t find him, but then I didn’t really think I would. Tapping my helmet, I call Specs and tell him to check the cams, see if he can follow where he went, then I can follow Specs’ directions, but he loses him a few streets over too.

As I leave town and hit the open road I notice a flash, as though something hit glass, so I turn and head back to check it out. Slowly riding up a small dirt track, just wide enough for a vehicle, I see the van I’d been chasing, but when I check it out the man is nowhere in sight. The van is empty too, and I think fuck him, and take out my lighter and set that sucker on fire. One vehicle less for him, I think to myself.

Heading back now to the compound, I take my time but keep my eyes peeled, but I see nothing out of the ordinary. I’m irritated that I didn’t grab that fucker, but I’ll find him again, I’m sure.

I agreed to go back to the clubhouse and eat, so that’s what I’ll do. The last thing I want is to piss off the Pres before I’ve been at the club for less than five minutes.

Riding into the compound, Target and Stitch walk out of the front door and stand with their arms crossed, trying to give me the evil eye, but that fucker doesn’t wash with me.

I park, then head towards them, but don’t stop even when they give me the third degree on where I’ve been and what I found. I want to check in with Axel first if he is here.

Heading to the office, I see Axel isn’t inside, so I check in with Specs and he hasn’t found out anything else so far. “Specs, do a deep check on the step-sister, Shirley. She taking something, drug stuff in the house and three men dragged her out. Could be they’re pimping her out to pay for it.”

“Fuck, leave it with me Meat and I’ll dig deeper. I’ll ask Drag to speak to a couple of the street people he knows. Maybe Target can too, as he still has contacts from when he was living on the street.” Specs tells me and I nod, as it’ll be easy to speak to Target about this.

I walk over to the bar where Target, Chaos and Stitch are talking and nod to the prospect behind the bar for a bottle of water, which I drink in one go, then ask for another. This one I hold on to for the moment.

“I’m going for my run. Anyone up for it?” I ask the three sitting here, giving me a questioning look. “If you want to know, you’ll need to come with me.” With that, I head for my room and change into my running gear. I make sure I take the bottle of water with me when I go back downstairs and I walk through the common room, kitchen and out the back door, placing the water down while I do some stretches to warm up my muscles.

After warming up, I drink the water, then set off on the run, taking it easy. Then I turn to Chaos, who’s running next to me. “I think the step-sister has something to do with it, no proof yet, but she has a drug habit, it starts on that road, but we all know where it goes and how fast it goes.” Chaos nods agreement. “I went into her house, the house that should have been Eden’s if we’re being honest. But man, it stinks, literally that is, I’ve never smelled a house so bad. She is one lazy fucker.”

“Do you think her dealer is going to try to get the money she more than likely owes from Eden? Which, of course, would mean that they know she’s Shirley’s step-sister.” Stitch asks me, and he picks up the tempo of the run slightly.

Target settles in on the opposite side of Chaos and looks over at me. “Where do we go next to find out what’s going on?”

I sigh. “You need to talk to some of your friends on the street. Find out if they know anything about this Shirley, and the ones she buys her drugs from.”

Nodding, Target chuffs, “Yeah, I’ll do that. I’ll find out what I can on her, and I’ll go into town tomorrow and speak to the three that may know something.”

I don’t think we can say more on the matter at the moment, so I pick up our run and push us all. We don’t want to get soft, well; I don’t. The others can do as they like. I have to smile to myself because no way are they going to let me get away from them and stay with me the whole way back. Ten-grueling miles I push them through and they keep up step by step.

As we are cooling down Jig walks out with four bottles of water, throws them to us and sits with his arms crossed, leaning his back against the club wall.

I drink the water, throw him the empty bottle, then jump on Chaos, wrapping my arm around his neck, going for a choke hold. Chaos roars, motherfucker, and does his best to wriggle out of it. When he slows, Stitch jumps on my back and Target takes out my legs.

Once we are all on our feet, I butt up again with Chaos while Target takes on Stitch and I get Chaos down, but he flicks me onto my hands and knees, not able to get me down, and as he is on my back I shout, “Hey, Stitch, this fucker is trying to get fresh with me.” Chaos jumps up, backs away fast and chokes out he’s going to kick my ass, to which I respond, “Well kicking it is better than what you was trying to do.”

The brothers that had come out to watch are hooting with laughter and ribbing Chaos, much to his disgust. Me, I’m laughing my ass off and it’s what I needed to get rid of the frustration I was feeling after losing that bastard in town.
